First of all - I have to say this client is the NICEST person - spent a perfect 1st day - painting away while we chatted our way through the process - loved the company - loved the transition so far -
This is how it looked when I walked in today...................
All the drop cloths were already down and handles off the furniture - it's little steps like that, that can make me
fall in love with a customer. Thanks so much April!!!
here's how it looked when I left - of course it's nowhere near finished at this point - but you can at least see the direction it's going in ( check out how it ties in with the fireplace - perfect right ? )
She originally wanted the legs painted the same color as the table top - but I convinced her to go
with the Old White ( which the chairs will also be ) assuring her that I could paint them the same as the table top if it didn't feel right. Wow - doesn't this feel " right " ?
This is going to be gorgeous in her already beautiful home......................
And now I'm off to paint some more of that furniture I got on the weekend - here's a little update of the headboard!
Here it is in the people's home we bought it from - a nice shade of 70's nicotine
talk about " kicking the habit "
Is it vain to love something ( in an over the top way ) that you did yourself?
But I would have loved it no matter who did this - so does that make it a little better?
And that's how my Monday went -
Yours?
I'm so sorry if I can't get back to you as quick as I'd like this week - but my fingers are too busy doing other things!
Much love,

Pretty darned good start on that dining room suite! You can sure be proud of that stunning headboard makeover, too.
ReplyDeleteIs that going to be your headboard...or are you selling that???? Please tell me you are selling?? I mean we are practically neighbours and you just wouldn't do that to a neighbour...right????????????????

ReplyDeleteafter seeing this today you have given me the courage to paint mine! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThat table is going to be gorgeous-the whole set will be!
ReplyDeleteLove the headboard, so much character and I think the lighter paint shows off the details better. Your poor hands will fall off by the end of the week. ;-)

ReplyDeleteLove both! And I'm glad you have clients, so we can see your projects!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great cutomer. Good for you to be so lucky with that. Your furntre is coming out lovely, I think the color combination and yes you are allowed to love your own thing a lot. You are talented, flaunt it!!!
ReplyDeleteCynthia
Lucky you to have found such a great customer!! What colour are you painting the top? Paris Grey? It looks great so far.
ReplyDeleteAnd your headboard - you've taken an ugly duckling and turned it into a beautiful swan!!!
Hi Heather!!!
DeleteThanks so much - the top is French Linen - but there's a lighter shade going on it through paint mixed with wax - so it'll be a complete different look
Hugs,
Suzan
Suzan, you do such beautiful work! And NO! It is absolutely not vain to love something you did yourself! Some things just turn out fabulous! You can't help it if you are just that good.... :)
ReplyDeleteThis is GORGEOUS!!! Please, can you come over and do a makeover on my ENTIRE HOME?!?
ReplyDeleteONG - April has the same table and chairs I had before I sold it to a friend. Your painted version is so much prettier than the job I had done on mine, so pretty with the two colours! Perfect, I bet she'll love it even more once its completed. I'd be keeping that headboard, it is so unique, you will never replace it, it's beautiful! Happy Easter! Patty/BC
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Patty!!!
DeleteHave no room for the headboard or I would most definitely be keeping it lol
Big hugs,
Suzan
When are you going to have the finished photo? I have that exact same table, and my husband is insisting (so far) that I not paint the top. So what color are you painting the tabletop?
ReplyDeleteShould be all done by the beginning of next week Teri - there's quite a bit of furniture to paint!!!
DeleteHugs,
Suzan
Applause, applause!
ReplyDeleteThat table is sure looking gooood!! You do such a great job painting furniture. Wish you lived close enough to come to my house.

I, too, am over the top about that headboard. Stunning. The linen creates such an elegant impression.
ReplyDeleteYou know you don't have to reply to every single comment, don't you? We don't expect you to. I feel you tire yourself out trying to reply to every one. Repeat after me: "It's okay not to!" Lol.
ReplyDeleteWow, how could you cover that lovely shade of nicotine, lol!! Disgusting and yes it's okay to fall in love with your own work. I painted a bench for myself and I'm thrilled with it. So there. You have my permission.
Have a great day, Suzan!
