I WANNA live there # 53

I live in a pretty incredible area - in Montreal, It's an historical neighbourhood loaded with tons and tons of charm - and 20th century architecture, just steps away from the city center, it's also a pretty expensive neighbourhood ( in which I live in servants quarters basically compared to what I'm surrounded by )
Because there are days I don't have furniture makeovers to show you - I've chosen Wednesdays to showcase and feature one or two homes that are for sale around here.................( or apartment - or duplex - or teepee )
Keep in mind this is in the heart of the city - so the prices reflect that  - think Manhattan - where these places would cost 3 or 4 times what they're listed for here!
On occasion I'll showcase beautiful homes in other areas - countries - continents - the one thing most of them will have have in common will be their age - because I love old homes with stories to tell, join me won't you?
_____________________________________________________________________________________________

A little break from the give aways - because this is a series after all - and we'll resume the give aways on Thursday and Friday - and Monday and Tuesday!!!

It looks like our home may go on the market next week - so these I WANNA live there's may become a little more realistic for awhile lol
These are all in the same price range more or less and are outside of my neighborhood - they're in a community outside Montreal called Hudson - which I've showcased before - and though they're smaller homes - they're packed with charm!!!

First one up is listed at 324,900
3 bedroom - 1 bath - 1 powder room
REALTOR - Lyndon Paul Gallagher

The next one is 344,000
2 beds - 1 bath - 1 powder room
Realtor - Diane and Paul Laflamme

I could see us living in either of them - perfect little homes for these 2 empty nesters!!!

See you all tomorrow - and have a wonderful Wednesday!!!

  1. Oh my gosh! The second one! I am putting my house on the market immediately and heading north!! I love this house...and the decor...and the light...and the big bathtub! Oh, the fireplace and the island in the kitchen. Dying here...

  2. These are both gorgeous, but the second one is just about perfect.

  3. The SECOND ONE!! I am going to be referring to this post when it's time to remodel the kitchen...it's exactly how I want my kitchen to look!

  4. I love the second one! I don't care for the slanted ceilings but I love the outside area and the porch! Dianntha

  5. They are both very beautiful. It's hard to choose, but I think I'm leaning a tad bit more toward the first one. Hudson is such a gorgeous area; you are bound to find something great there.

  6. Both are very nice. I love the painted floors in number 2....I would love to paint my floors white but hubby and the naysayers think I would destroy the value in my house.

  7. The first one, for sure. The backyard could use a little attention, but the interior is beautiful - and very much my style. Love it! (What's a powder room? is it adjacent to a bathroom?

  8. Wouldn't it be so awesome to be able to design your own house, exactly like you wanted it?? Your post has got me daydreaming today!

  9. I really like the second home, it looks so cozy and inviting. Especially like those blue shutters on either side of the window in the living area. Nice pop of color!

  10. Oh- You have so much to look forward to, Suzan. I hope your house sells quickly and that you can find the perfect spot for you and John. You will make it beautiful no matter how it starts out. Hope you have a wonderful day- xo Diana

  11. Love the outdoor spaces of the second one. This house would fit right in around here. I wonder if the blue shutters are to keep the "haints" out? A southern custom.

  12. Both of these are so cute but I like the second one a little more. I can't wait to see what you choose for your new home!!

  13. Run, don't walk to buy the second one....OMG, you may have to race me there Suzan. I LOVE it. And the price is so right for Hudson...really, that cheap in Hudson?? I absolutely adore it!

  17. These are both such beautiful homes but I really love the second one best. I like the coziness of it and all the storage cupboards, the kitchen and bath are gorgeous, the bedrooms cute, the wainscotting, the stone fire place. Oh I just love it!!! The back yard is manageable and private. Of course the current homeowner is an awesome decorator and I could just move right in! :) Beautiful. (magazine worthy!)

  22. They are both very nice, but I like the second one better. I love the fireplace, the walls in the dining room, all the windows over the kitchen sink and the bathroom in the second house. It just seems to have a little more personality and be a little more interesting.

  26. I would move to Montreal for that second one...I love it! You should buy it.
I did see one potential problem, though. Those kitchen windows are just waiting for squirrels to jump in! Bwaaahhhaaaaahaaaa!

  35. Hi Suzan!!!

I was impressed when I was visiting my uncle who lives in Hudson!!
It's beautiful year round. I liked the first house. The owner has
    decorated it so beautifully!!

As you know, Hudson is very closed to where I grew up and where my
    heart belongs!!

I wish you all the best in a quick sale and an easy purchase!!!

  43. I love them. I really love the carpet runner on the stairs in the second home. You could just rip it out and mail it to me! Now I can hardly wait until you move!! Haha JK, but I will definitely pin this one so I can keep my eyes open for the same rug! Cheers.

  45. I agree that the second one has more historical charm:) Perfect for two empty nesters. Now that the kids are gone we are thinking about a move to a smaller home. These are both lovely homes with so much warmth:)

  46. Very cute homes with lots of charm, but what's with those prices, wow! For $300,000 to $344,000 you could get a NICE sized fully landscaped lot and mansion here in the Milwaukee County area in a great neighborhood, with crappy weather similar to Montreal's so you wouldn't get homesick. Let me rephrase that - with a climate similar to the wonderful experience of four full seasons (if you don't count Spring and Fall which generally show up here for about 2 hours each year) that you have in Montreal. The U.S. dollar is worth less than the Canadian dollar so your Canadian dollars will buy more down here, too. And we don't have a 15% sales tax (yet). We do, however, have a Republican controlled state government so on second thought, you would probably want to stay well away from here. We're rapidly regressing to the 17th century BCE around here.
