We had a power outage last night - most of it was spent sitting in the living room with candles on
while I made hand puppets on the wall for a few hours before finally giving up and going to bed lol.
Soooo let's see now - we've done Living rooms - Bedrooms - Dining rooms - how about kitchens now?
into something more like this

Okay, stop with white, you have convinced me. All those photos are wonderful. My next house will have a lot of white, my next house will have a lot of white.
ReplyDeleteI will contact Sherwin-Williams, and recommend a new paint color - Institution White. I'd buy it.
ReplyDeleteThose are great inspiration pics! We are all crazy enough to live in white :)
ReplyDeleteImagine an all white house with lots of windows and the sun streaming in....right after an amazing blizzard or ice storm. Oh my goodness the place would sparkle so bright it might be blinding.... but I would be so filled with the spirit of joy and and happiness.... I LOVE IT
ReplyDeleteLoving all your white kitchens. I do love a white kitchen. Ummmm...save a room at the "institution" for MY John, too, will ya?;>) xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI do like white kitchens. I particularly like the one with the apples on the table.
ReplyDeleteI love that island you made!
ReplyDeleteI love all of those Swedish and Nordic inspirations. I used a few of them myself, though I didn't go white, because I was working with what I had in the rest of the place.
If you make the shelves, you will save a lot of money. Wood countertops and tile are affordable. What I love about all these kitchens is they look unfitted and approachable.
Love that blue stove! Blue star, Viking, Big Chill, and Smeg make much more affordable colored stove versions than the French one and Aga. (Smeg stoves are not available in the U.S., but maybe in Canada.)
You will be able to probably use a couple of the pieces you find and paint too!
Suzan you never fail to make me chuckle!! I'm lovin the white... carry on!! Have a great weekend!! V
ReplyDeleteI adore open shelving, that would be a must for me! Do you follow Tausha's blog? She ripped the cabinets off the wall one day when her hubby wasn't home so he was forced to give her open shelving:)
ReplyDeleteA chandelier in the kitchen is a must too! I'm going to enter your giveaway:) Have a wonderful weekend:)
I still smile over the institution commet from your dear John.
ReplyDeleteMy dear Geir also said that some years ago, but now he like it (I hope). Somehow he has to like it, lol.
I just love the kitchens you share with us. Beautiful, all of them.
Big hug for you
I'm on my third gallon of white paint this week, so you know I'm all for these rooms!
ReplyDeleteI want to paint our stained cabinets white, and every time I mention it, my husband looks at me as if to say, "Do you know how much work that's going to be?" And then I think to myself, "Do you know how much work that's going to be?!" So pretty and clean, though. I don't think I've invited you to my new link party yet! Starts each Tuesday, for any post on antiques, vintage, or history. Join us! We Call It Olde Link-up. (Sorry if I already invited you ...) Take care -Dawn @ We Call It Junkin.com
ReplyDeleteWE are currently remodeling a house that we will be selling. Im determined to do a white kitchen there. Who knows what will happen to my own house after that?!!!
ReplyDeleteLOL at that last comment!!! I am not sure what direction I want our cabinets to go in the new house. We don't want pure white, maybe something with a glaze. I guess I will know when we start looking but I want to make the right and final decision. John is cool with that. He says you are in the house more then me so you rule the roost, so to speak of course, LOL!!
ReplyDeleteCynthia
That top one (not the 1970s one, the top white one) is the direction we are going in....albeit slowly.
ReplyDeleteI really like the first white one.
ReplyDeleteYou know I'm a sucker for white kitchens too Suzan, love all these inspirations!
ReplyDeleteWhat kitchens with a little color are my favorite! I think an all white house may not be too bad! It would look clean and sleek that's for sure!
ReplyDeleteOops I meant White kitchens! Not What kitchens!
DeleteI love the white kitchens you've been inspired by. I wonder if I can do it in my next house! If I don't get all of this settled soon...institutional white will be surrounding me!
ReplyDeleteHere I go again! Reading your conversations to my hubby. They just sound so very familiar! hahaha! Sweet hugs!
ReplyDeleteI love all the white you've been putting up. I couldn't do it my house though...not until the kids are grown. ;)
ReplyDeleteNot only are the white kitchens beautiful, I love the stoves in most of them. Thanks for letting us in on your ideas. xoGinger
ReplyDeleteBeautiful white kitchens!!
ReplyDelete[giggle] Please tell John that I painted a whole house white and I'm about to paint my new house all white too. My husband would probably agree with John.... but not game enough to voice that opinion I suspect! Love a white kitchen!!
ReplyDeleteYou can do whatever you want! If it's white you want, make it white. Your other home had a lot of white in it and it was gorgeous. I don't know what John is worried about.
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love the first kitchen with the darker counters. The dark counters ground the room so well. Will it have hardwood floors?
:) yes, white interiors can remind of hospitals and such, so do vynil floors and minimal metal furnitures...I don't think that's where you are going. So far so good.
ReplyDeleteMy kitchen is white. :-) I love white kitchens!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the weekend. ♥ Carla
I love white kitchens...you are going to be so busy, having fun, updating, refreshing and making the house all yours. I'm so excited for you!! And I still want to win that book. ;) enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteCecilia
LOVE this kitchen makeover! I don't usually go for all white but it looks so nice here!
ReplyDeleteOh, Suzan! That first kitchen is just ... AMAZING!!!! It's so you.
ReplyDeleteLove them all.
Hugs,
Patti
I was waiting for that post about white kitchens... and then it got lost in all the mails I haven't read yet... I'm going to keep quite a few in my inspiration file if you don't mind!
ReplyDeleteNow, let's talk seriously, call me mad John, but I can see lots of potential in that room that is now the kitchen in your cottage, but if you keep that ceiling that belongs to a classroom, I'm unfollowing you! No pressure!
Love love love them all.
ReplyDeleteKris
Beautiful inspiration! I love them all!

Suzan, you are a very funny lady! You always seem to combine my two favorite things~ gorgeous home décor and a really good laugh! Today is no exception...white kitchens are my weakness! Thanks for sharing these! :) Kim
ReplyDeleteHi Suzan,
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures of a gorgeous home!
I love vintage home decorations and antique things.
I am pleased to meet you.
Greetings from Poet Starry Dawn.
White is going to freshen the place up. Just sneak in some wood tones like on your island to keep John happy lol. Thanks for sharing the photos and your humour.
ReplyDeleteLove them all I wish I could have any but my fave is number 2
ReplyDeleteSuzan I LOVE them all!!
ReplyDeleteSuzan, I would love a white kitchen and you would think in Florida they would be plentiful. Out of the dozens of homes for sale we have seen only one with a white kitchen. Looks like I'll need to paint.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Sherry
I love white in kitchens! And these photos sure do inspire! But because I also like color, knowing ME, I'd add one little pop of color and it would just progress from there.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing all of these white kitchens. So many great ideas! I love the open shelving. Our cupboards are white, but hubby put on black countertops....hopefully they will wear out soon. LOVE your blog!!
ReplyDeleteDebbie
I have to confess that until this year, white kitchens where not my thing, however they have been growing on me. There really are some beautiful white kitchens out there. The inspiration pictures you have included are fabulous, but I think my favorite of them all would be the 4th one with the apple's on the counter. Love all the open shelving
ReplyDeleteI could definitely live in that kitchen! White is so clean, so inspirational! It is the perfect background for colorful food!
ReplyDeleteI have been saying for years that my next house would be white. I have kind of going in that direction for a while now as I slowly convert my furnishings. Brian thought I was nuts too, he thought with a dog and grandchildren going white was insane. But that's the way I wanted to go. Because it is going to be a long time before I can do it if ever. I will have to live my dreams of a white home vicariously through you. Can not wait to see the changes you make to your new home as you go all white. Congrats on the new home, did a little happy dance for you when I heard the news. hugs Tobey
ReplyDeleteI am saving my money to redo my kitchen and want it to be white. Love your pics.
ReplyDeleteI got tired of my white cabinets and went dark and hate it. I have to have every light on in the kitchen just to see.
