I have studs in the kitchen !!!
And not the kind of studs that just look good

and THAT, my friends, is what I call sexy !!!
( and one step closer to dry wall )
John says - We're living like a couple of bloody squatters
Suzan says - For a couple of months John - in the big realm of things it's really not so terrible is it?
John says - It's horrible ............absolutely horrible.
To be honest with you - this is a little much - what we've taken on here - but it'll be worth it - if we can just hang on - this is so going to be worth it :)
much love,
Suzan and the Squatter
XOXOXO
You can do it Suzan!!! I know some times it feels overwhelming, especially living in it, but celebrate every step along the way and soon you will have something you can be proud of. I can't wait to see the finished product. Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteYour studs are gorgeous! I bet you could just stare at them for hours! LOL!! Tell John to tie a knot and hang on! I know he can do it and soon enough you'll have an amazing home to be proud of. It's all just a process! <3
ReplyDeleteHang in there Suzanne, baby steps and you will finally get to that great goal - a gorgeous place that you have dreamed of.... I have been there and know it is not easy and many days you want to throw the towel in but when it's done you will be so thrilled... I am loving the transformation already.... Cathy
ReplyDeleteJohn better watch out -- he better not leave you alone in a room with those studs!
ReplyDeleteThose are my kind of studs :)
ReplyDeleteHa Ha Suzan I am with you with loving "your" kind of studs!!!! They look heavenly. This is so great I want to see more!!! I am sure you do too. I am just bubbling with excitement for you. This kitchen is going to be great.

Yes, that sounds familiar. We use to say we live in squalor. Now the squalor is mostly confined to the back yard, spouse's office, and shed; the areas we have not worked on.
ReplyDeleteYou might have to get away for a couple of days, or a friend's empty home. My sister lives only a minute away, but she works out of town, so we borrowed her kitchen sometimes
You are really moving quick. It took me about a year to do the kitchen.
Had a bit of an upheaval at my house-daughter and SIL are now living here with me. Not bad, but, oh my, the apple didn't fall far from the tree. She has lots of stuff--stuff we need to stuff somewhere in this house/garage. But it's already full. Storage unit helped. Maybe we need another one. So my walls are hidden while your are totally clear. Wonder who will be the first to show them as "complete"? YOU, that's who! Lucky you. Have a dry wall week!♥♫
ReplyDeleteYou can do it, Suzan. I know the end result is going to be spectacular. xo Laura
ReplyDeleteI wish to goodness I had seen what is under the dry wall in my kitchen! As it stands I have no idea how much insulation there might be though I am going to just assume (always dangerous) that it is the same as what I can see in the eaves of the attic. Have you said what you are doing about kitchen cabinetry? I can't remember if I read something. (I am old.)
ReplyDeleteEven an older woman like me can appreciate those studs. Thanks for sharing. Your home will be beautiful. You know how to make it a home. Great things take time. Blessings
ReplyDeleteLove the studs in your kitchen walls , oh and thank you for the "eye candy"
ReplyDeleteKeep telling yourself that!! It definitely will be worth it in the long run - just living with it is tough.
ReplyDeleteGood looking studs, I'll hire them, LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteCynthia
It will be oh so worth it...absolutely!! With what I've seen you do in your other homes, I can't wait to see how this one will turn out! But, living in it must be very hard right now. Keep looking at the end results...
ReplyDeleteDebbie :)
Hang in there! You are right - it will be worth it in the end :)
ReplyDeleteI'll take the top and bottom ones on the right. Two for me, two for you. I'll bring a hammer as well.
ReplyDeleteKeep laughing so you don't cry. If you survive the renovations (you will honey!), you'll be stronger and like labor, will forget how horrible the ordeal was. When you are taking a great, check out my blog for my first giveaway ever! Free stuff! http://japolina.blogspot.com/2013/12/contest-giveaway-yipeee.html
ReplyDeleteHurray for all kinds of kitchen studs! Squatters...LMBO!
ReplyDeleteYes the inconvenience will be worth it in the long haul. Just hang in there!
ReplyDeleteI love your studs, especially the one on the bottom right. Cute post and I agree that your studs are practical, and definitely necessary!
ReplyDeleteAny stud in the kitchen is welcome ;)
ReplyDeleteLove your studs! Living without a kitchen is never easy but once it is all done you will feel like a queen!!!!
ReplyDelete~Des
It was quite nice to read or rather look at that post after a hard way at work! Don't fret about your kitchen, it's going to be gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, the best kind of studs! The others are just to look at. These are actually useful! :-) And you will make it through this. We've gutted and remodeled a number of times and are still alive to tell about it. I wasn't too fond of homeschooling while sheetrock dust filtered down through the ceiling onto our papers and table, or using a 'chamber pot' until we got the plumbing hooked up, or living in the basement 2 years with only a wall map as our wallpaper (actually, not too bad!), but we survived. Read John a bedtime story and put in a Christmas CD. How about some Bailey's Irish Cream? That should cheer him up. lol As you can tell, I'm one of those annoying problem solvers. LOL
ReplyDeleteHaha, I saw your title and did think of the correct studs...horses also popped into my mind and does this mean I've gotten old? Oh- nope. I've always had horses on the brain. ;)
ReplyDeleteYay, progress in the kitchen! Good for you! Tell John to buck up! :)
Hugs!
