Living so close to the border is something most Canadians do...............for instance here in Quebec ( we're the largest Canadian province ) we border New York - New Hampshire - Vermont and Maine. And that's just to the south of us - we also border Ontario - James Bay - Hudson Bay - as well as Newfoundland and Labrador and New Brunswick ( plus a few places even I've never heard of )
That's a lot of territory!
Campobello Island is in New Brunswick ( and also borders Maine ) - and is most famous for the fact that it was where the U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt spent his summers with his family - from infancy until he became an adult - where upon he built his own 34 room summer retreat on the island. It's now the main attraction at Campobello International Park.

I've been to New Brunswick - but never to Campobello Island - t's now officially on my bucket list - and since we border that province it shouldn't be a difficult bucket to fill :)

That is a fabulous home! I love the vintage feel of it and that it hasn't been totally modernized and renovated thus keeping all the fine old features and woodwork. Did you see the fretwork between the double parlours? I love the pantry and the vintage sink and tub! We visited Campobello Island with the kids a long time ago and I think it's time to make another visit. One can cross into the US from there as well but be sure you have your passport! The one oval window in the entry melted into the wall! Does the other? The lighthouse border is a little corny! And, is that moose wallpaper in the bathroom? {Groan...} I expected much more wallpaper and a little more color. Otherwise it is a beauty!
