I WANNA live there # 28

I live in a pretty incredible area - in Montreal, It's an historical neighbourhood loaded with tons and tons and tons of charm - and 20th century architecture, just steps away from the city center, it's also a pretty expensive neighbourhood ( in which I live in servants quarters basically compared to what I'm surrounded by )
Because there are days I don't have furniture makeovers to show you - I've chosen Wednesdays to showcase and feature one home that's for sale around here.................( or apartment - or duplex - or teepee )
Keep in mind this is in the heart of the city - so the prices reflect that  - think Manhattan - where these places would cost 3 or 4 times what they're listed for here!
On occasion I'll showcase beautiful homes in other areas - countries - continents - the one thing most of them will have have in common will be their age - because I love old homes with stories to tell, join me won't you?

want a closer look at that courtyard?
oh, ok
fairy lights - it needs fairy lights all over the place...............
check out the arch leading to............another brick court yard????????????
Ok - let's go back inside - there's a lot to see here and these fantasies need feeding

and this next image is going to be glued to the back of my eyeballs for a long long time -

what a brilliant idea for a small kitchen - to have cupboards over the " dead " space of a doorway!!!
and I absolutely love the cupboards..................

I was going to end it here - until I came across this one...............couldn't resist one more!

  1. Okay, I thought I fell in love with the first one...even though I did not like the kitchen BUT then you brought in the second one and I found my banker. INCROYABLE!!! I love everything about it. Stunning.
Oh, nope, apparently the account is dry. We will not be moving. :)

  2. Oh my lord, I phoned my bookie. Well looks like I won't be moving anytime soon lol. The courtyards are gorgeous. By far this is my favorite too!!!! I will be there in a few weeks. Maybe I can call the real estate agents just to visit and swoon. New Orleans was always on my bucket list. I will also be doing the Anne Rice tour. Xx

  5. My house is 100% slave quarters - for the slave that lives there - me.

I love the way that New Orleans respects it's old buildings and maintains their historic integrity. Too many other cities in the U.S. do not do that.

  6. Oh for heaven's sake! How can I go back to my ordinary life? Love those courtyards. That first one was massive. What a treat! I just loved the comment you left about old books! So glad you stopped by!

  8. I think I'll choose the first one because I'm in love with the attic room. I have an appointment at the bank next Friday, maybe I could tell them I want a new house in New Orleans.

  13. Wow,thank you for the tours! I always love looking at homes, especially those from my Louisiana! I think the second may be my favorite! I was really surprised that the first did not have any crown moulding, I would think for the price that they would have put that in! I have seen quite a few new homes being replicated like these but there is still nothing like that old charm!

  14. Hard to believe those were so gorgeous and huge inside from the look outside. Loved the first one.

  15. I never have to look at another house again because with that second one, I've found my absolute dream.

You can come visit too, any time you want, because you're right fair is fair. I'll tell hubby to start the packing. :)

  16. Hi Suzan!!!

    WOW!!!

That was amazing!! The high ceilings and all the wood floors, brick and the windows were amazing!! The windows let a lot of light in which I love. The stairways were gorgeous and elegant. While I was looking through them I kept thinking what great parties I could have inside and out.

    Great choices!!!

  20. I am dying here. They are all just incredible and I could gladly live in any of the three. If only New Orleans wasn't so hot and humid and sticky.

  29. Each house is wonderful in its own way. Thanks for letting me look inside. I loved New Orleans, but of course did not get to see the inside of any houses, just the hotel - which was pretty wonderful itself.
