Some things just fall into your lap.........

I received an email a few weeks ago from a name that seemed familiar but that I just couldn't place............
It turned out to be a someone we had purchased a dresser from last year and had another piece she thought
I'd be interested in -
YES PLEASE

just a little dated - I can remember when that type of relief was in vogue big time though
but ooh la la I couldn't wait to get my hands on this piece
I've wanted to do a drop leaf table for a long time now - kept waiting to find one - but never, not for one moment, imagined one would just fall from the sky like this!!!

I have BIG plans for this sweetheart - isn't she just crying out for a little love?

Here's the last piece I bought from Kim - about a year and a half ago

and I promptly stole an idea from Annie Sloan ( in one of her books )  this is Annie's masterpiece

she's amazing right?

this was my version copying her tutorial from the book.
using old white - some dark wax - and clear wax to finish

Dresser, Annie Sloan, Old White, Dark wax, Floral Design, antique

I'm loving it all over again - and think I'll do this soon to another dresser - makes me think of Spring!

In the meantime I'll have a post up tomorrow on that flowery table - painted and reinvented.
Thanks so much for the feature!!!

  15. Hi Suzan!!!!!

I remember doing two night tables in that relief mode. It's kinda funny how the table has my most loved flowers on it.

The little dresser is beautiful!!! I love how the two first drawers are curved.

It'll be exciting to see what the table is going to look like!! That was nice of Kim to remember you and phone you up again!!

Have a great week my friend!!

  28. Oh my gosh, Suzan! You did an amaaaazing job on that dresser, girl! Looks just Annie's!!! Betcha you'll be publishing your OWN book soon! lol Can hardly wait to see what you do with that sweet drop leaf. I've got two of them in my basement ~ one is my craft table (carefully shrouded in wood, newspaper and a sheet), and one holding summer cushions for the porch furniture. :)

    Luv ya!

  29. I love the dresser! And that drop leaf table, how great! It's amazing to note that furniture never really goes out of style, just the treatments we apply to them.

P.s. I thought there were little pink bugs all over my screen, until I realized they were coming from the martini glass, lol! Almost threw my laptop across the room!!
