Dollar Store Dimanche

I ran into the dollar store on Friday to pick up some stencilling - but got a little side tracked................didn't pick up what I intended to get but came home with some pretties anyway.

I'm not a fan of fake flowers - at all - but couldn't resist these - they felt like " spring " to me and the green is more of a sage color - not that horrible fake green they usually put on flowers..................

.And then as I was leaving I spied these

And an idea was born.....................

some were tied into " bunches " to look like the bunches that hang from rafters when they're harvested

and some fit perfectly in the small planters - my favorite - don't these look like Spring is just around the corner?
Total cost for everything 10.00 -
Total cost for planter ( with one bunch of flowers cut up ) 4.00

Have yourselves a beautiful Sunday......................

  3. Lovely! I'm wondering how long before you paint the buckets? I've been unable to comment because of some wierd clickjacking message that's been coming up, but my husband has fixed it!
I'm following your bedroom makeover with great excitement! x

  5. Suzan, it is perfect. Love the color of the flowers:) I am with you, not a fan of fake flowers but there are some that look great out there. In the winter I use more fakes just because I don't have a garden to keep me in flowers, like I do in the summer.

  14. Now I will have to go see if our dollar store has anything like these ever-blooming flowers. I loved the way you styled them in the buckets. Cannot believe you did not paint them.

  17. Faux flowers are so much better than the old ones were. I use them all the time. Tucked into those galvanized pails, they look so pretty!

  18. Very pretty Suzan. I agree, I don't like fake flowers, but I have to say they are getting a bit better. So at this time of year, sometimes there is no choice.

  26. We have had gorgeous weather here this week, feels like spring, but alas no flowers. I love all the purple, cute idea, and cute lil pots too. All the birds chirping in my yard have me longing for spring and now your purple flowers have me longing for the smell of lilac trees. hugs Tobey
