Here's the story............

Of a lovely lady................

fancy, french, chalk paint, pure white, spray painted handles

who was bringing up 2 very lovely girls

Armoire, end tables, painted, white,

both of them were black and white - just like their mother
the youngest one with swirls...............

graphics fairy, french, typography

THIS was the reason I decided to go black and white on this set - I thought it would tie in nicely with a  crisp black french graphic

french, graphic, transfer gel

If you're looking for a lazy quick way to get a dark color in the crevices of fancy molding -
I usually paint the moldings black first

then paint the white over it - leaving it showing through as much ( or as little ) as you like
in this photo I still needed touch up the white here and there - but you get the idea

Now I'm hoping that this lady meets a fellow
Quickly

What?
Did you think I'd start the week off without leaving some sort of lame song in your brain for the day?
Uh Uh - no way - not me!

Tomorrow I'm sharing some pink loveliness!

Have a good Monday all
and they knew that it was much more than a hunch...........................

And a little reminder of how she looked before -

  12. Thanks for the tip on getting the darkened molding, Suzan. I always wondered how everyone did it without using a dark wash which darkens it too much IMHO.

As for the song.....thank you, I needed something to go through my head at 3 AM. lol

  14. You just knock it out of the freakin' park EVERY time!!! That piece was so, "I would never have that in my house" and became, "Holy poo, I want that and will run over anyone in my way!" And just to return the favor...Her name was Lola...she was a showgirl...

  16. oh MY goodness look at the before....

    :)

SOMETIMES I see posts where I think that people are crazy and should have had respect for the old wood and left it alone

BUT NOT THIS TIME LOL! :)

  17. Marsha, Marsha, Marsha - what have you done? Since there is a mother and TWO girls, I bet Jan, the middle child, was left out again! Now you must find a third piece to refinish as beautifully as these three.
