When I think of 60's elegance, I think of Jackie O
Chic?
Or Pretty in Pink?
My heart keeps coming back to this - a lot
in the end - if I'm going 60's
I could end up moseying in like this
All I know for certain is I don't want
to end up looking like this
Decisions, decisions, decisions,
Have a happy Saturday all
Hugs,
Chic?

I love the Jackie O look and the light blue gown. Whatever you chose I bet its going to look gorgeous! Congradulations to your daughter on her engagement and upcoming wedding!

Well! You certainly can't go wrong with Jackie O. Very chic! But a little Phyllis Diller at the reception might be fun! :)
ReplyDelete~Liz
Thanks Liz lol - Phyllis Diller at the reception would be hilarious!
DeleteXOX
Congratulations on the wedding! I've never been to a theme wedding before. It will certainly be interesting. I channeled Jackie 0 at my own wedding. You can never go wrong with channelling her or Audrey Hepburn. Or even Phillis Diller. I think if I was at a party I'd rather hang out with Phyllis than the other two.
ReplyDeleteYou would look beautiful in anything but I really like the Jackie O look. You could always wear the Phyllis Diller shoes and gloves just to give it a little different slant. She was a hoot, wasn't she?
ReplyDeleteI am off to a seminar for the day/night. We'll catch up later and NO- I am NOT tweeting you! xo Diana
Oh, I totally ADORE Jacky chic from the 60's and that dress with the three strand pearls, is fabulous! You would look gorgeous in that!! I aLso love the long versions too, and anything by Audrey as well....and yes, why not!..the Phillis Diller green look with booties is my fav, LOL! Congrats on the upcoming wedding, sweetie.
ReplyDeleteFABBY
Love that picture of Jackie-O...almost giving the finger and then changing her mind at the last minute and turning it into a regal wave! Now that's class! I'm going to work on that move! You'll look beautiful in any of those...except maybe the last one, but you'll be the most comfortable in the fringed suede vest Suzan!
ReplyDeleteWhatever you choose you will rock it! (And what about John, will he have to coordinate with you?)
ReplyDeleteJackie O always had class and style.....but Phyllis got the laughs! Congratulations on your daughter's big day! I say, go in something that makes you feel pretty, whether it is 60's hippie or classic chic!
ReplyDeleteSuzan's gonna paint John's shoes just to give him hell!!! you watch and see!! LOL
ReplyDeleteYou'll look amazing in any of those gowns....but I say definately the hippie look for the reception! :-)
You definitely shouldn't be putting ideas in Suzan's head Laurayne!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The first couple if looks are adorable - you can never go wrong with Jackie, but the pink dress is a stunner as well!
ReplyDeleteWell, you already have a similar name with SuzyQ, so the jackie look is a no brainer.
ReplyDeleteMy expert fashion advice is to go with the pink- especially if you are drawn to it. You'd be beautiful in the blue or the vavavavoom gold, too. A June wedding needs some pink and I love that she chose a theme wedding! So fun!
Now, I adore Phyllis Diller's style...she was one crazy lady. I'd wear that outfit as a wedding guest, so it's a good thing I won't be attending. I love those boots. :)
lol i just adore the breakast at tiffanys look for me lol and hopefully my daughter is no where near marriage but i digress i also love the pink board and think you could totlly pull it off cant wait to see what you end up wearing
ReplyDeleteI loved the pink & the mocha colored dresses... very pretty!
ReplyDeleteI really love the pink one too - where can I find one like that LOL
DeleteXOX
I think your daughter's idea is awesome!! How fun! I'm a huge Audrey Hepburn fan and classic black is always a winner, but I'm definitely a pink girl and to me the pink is also very Audrey Hepburnesque. I could definitely see Audrey wearing a tiara with the pink outfit too. Whatever you wear... you'll totally rock it Suzan!! I'd wear that vest and white dress as regular daywear. Very cool!
ReplyDeleteI love the blue with the little pillbox hat - too cute, but I can see you swanning around in a tiara!
ReplyDeleteI want a tiara LOL - and I have to stop eating for the next 2 months - definitely lol
DeleteXOX
Jackie had such class. The blue dress is very Jackie in its shape. But I love the pink one. I believe its shape might be easier to wear. As much as I adore Audrey (have a picture of her in my wallet), I don't think the black dress would be nice at a wedding.
ReplyDeleteYou're just lucky to have managed to pick up an era. I would still be hesitating between Middle Age butterfly sleeves, Jane Austen high waisted dress, the twenties low waists and cute shoes... No nineties colours, though, it would make the bride look pale!
Magali
PS: Is John going as a sixteenth century pilgrim? Or can he pull the John Kennedy look? Maybe you should start calling him Jack!
Have to agree with Tuula about the Hepburn look......don't forget the long cigarette holder. But there's one thing you can't not do - June Cleaver apron and pearls to serve the cake! These are gonna be the best wedding photos ever :-)
ReplyDeleteI vote Goldfinger. Or Phylis.
ReplyDeleteBliss
Aww what's wrong with Phyllis's look? You could totally pull that off. Remember those granny boots? Very chic...
ReplyDeleteOk fine...then stick with Audrey, she is one classy lady!
Debbie :)
It dosnt matter which look you choose you will look stunning and I mean stunning. The only problem is getting John to dress up to match.-love dee x
ReplyDeleteThe last wedding I attended in the 60's - HMM? Well, I wore elephant bell bottoms with an extremely low-rise waist, a bandana tied about my chest, and feathers woven through my long hair. But that was on a beach during a full moon. If it is daytime I think pink with a pillbox hat with a veil - love that Jackie-O!
ReplyDeleteHey Girl! You could carry off any of these looks!! (even the fringed vest!, LOL) You will be stunning!!!
ReplyDeleteThey are all pretty snappy - but I like the Jackie O - you will be stunning. I bet it will be lots of fun.
ReplyDeleteMary
Suzan,
ReplyDeleteComb out Phyllis D's hair and plunk her in Jackie O's dress she'd probably look pretty good, but her attitude would still be funny and a bit saucy. I kinda see you that way too. My choice: Day wedding... Jackie O. Night wedding... Audry.
The Little Ball Girl
well especially after she had all that work done on her face lol..............
Deleteand I'd rather hang out with Phyllis to be honest with you!!!
XOX
I love the blue and the pink looks how fun!
ReplyDeleteWhy not go all out and do Marie Antionette, pompadour hairdo and all?
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking Goldie Hawn dancing in a cage on "Laugh-In."
ReplyDeleteI am chiming in with the Jack-O as well.
ReplyDeleteHow much fun is all this Suzan...a theme wedding, mother of the bride, wow lots to look forward to!
Ice blue dress and sparkling accessories - gorgeous and classic 60's. I can see you in that Jackie dress! The pink is gorgoues, but it doesn't speak to the 60's as much - unless you did a big bouffant hairdo. Yeah, a beehive!
ReplyDeleteand a Tiara Heather - you forgot to mention a Tiara lol
DeleteXOX
What fun! I always love Jackie O's style - always classic!
ReplyDelete-Shelley
Such a beautiful collection of pics xx
ReplyDeleteWatch Doris Day movies. I love everything she wore, don't you?
ReplyDeletenow why didn't I think of that Tibby????
Deleteyes - I did love everything she wore!
thanks!
hugs,
Suzan
Oh girl....you could rock ANY of those outfits! Love the idea of painting your shoes, though. Hey....maybe create a one-of-a-kind dress from paint-splattered drop cloth...???? lol
ReplyDeletexoox laurie
I LOVE the pink board! It's my pick!
ReplyDeleteI love all of the looks, the Jackie O is my favorite too. don't think you want to wear black to the wedding , unless your daughter is goth lol
ReplyDeleteyou will look stunning in whatever you choose. hugs Tobey
Go w/your heart. :)
ReplyDeleteI think a themed wedding sounds fun!
Hardy, har, har! Phyllis Diller would be a hoot though. Be it dress or hairstyle, you'd definitely steal the limelight.
ReplyDeleteLiz
I really LOVE that hat!
