With tiny houses ( which seem to be taking North America by storm )
I can't get enough of the shows - is anyone else fascinated by them?
So..............this week is all about tiny house living.
How people manage to co-exist in homes under 500 square feet amazes me - intrigues me - and makes me wish I could unload a lot of my crap and give it a try ..................
What say you?
Could you do it?
If it looked like this?
TKP ARCHITECTS - MOUNTAIN HOME
450 square feet of gorgeous !
This murphy bed is just fabulous !
It looks so much bigger than 450 square feet !
I think it's just spectacular -
The only thing I'd HAVE to change is the access to the loft - after a glass of wine or two I'd probably break every bone in my body going up and down LOL ( then again I could always sleep on the murphy bed one those nights )
Other than that?
Oh WOW - I most definitely WANNA live there !
Have a wonderful day everyone !

Yep, I could definitely live here!! and keep that cat-that-looks-like-a-dog too!
ReplyDeleteOh- this one is so darned cute. I like that it combines "little" with "storybook". It is just adorable. Could I live there full-time? Nope! I would like it for a small "getaway" though. That would be the perfect little escape from real life. I just don't think I could live that "small" without feeling confined. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteLOVE it!! A little Hobbitt house! And I love that cat, too ~
ReplyDeleteOh my word! I could live in this tiny house! It is stunning...but like you, I'd need a different way up to the loft. It's a perfect little house. (I'm in love!)
ReplyDeleteHugs
what a beautiful setting. I'm with you on the murphy bed. I asked Bill right away why he couldn't make one for our guest room?
ReplyDeleteI have 1000-square feet and some days that's a challenge. I'd say 450 would make a possible summer house.
ReplyDeleteHi Suzan!
ReplyDeleteThose stairs are OK even apres du vin, because one could just kinda fall backward, (cuz its a narrow opening/"stairwell"), and just hang there leaning on the back wall with one foot hooked onto the step and just sleep there. The danger would be that someone like a spouse or kid could take your pic like that and post it! Other than that, I love the cute little storybook house! If someone could get rid of all of my crap and just plop me there I'd do eet!
toodles,
Laura, et al
LMHO !!!
DeleteYou are too hilarious - I'm visualizing you asleep hooked on to the stairs - too funny !

Adorable! 'Gotta be honest, though. I don't see a kitchen. Am I just missing it? -Marci @ Stone Cottage Adventures
ReplyDeleteWhat an adorable and quant little home but I'm with you on that loft situation.
ReplyDeleteI do see a sink but no stove or refrigerator and not even a laundry area
The expression on that cat.....priceless
Wow, the craftsmanship in this little house is absolutely amazing, I love it! Thanks so much for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteI know ! It's the details - unbelievable ( the ceiling especially ! )
DeleteThanks Kelly !

Sink is behind the bench sofa with the red cushion in 7th photo. Don't see a stove, so maybe they cook on the outdoor grill? Must never have rainy days and cooking at the same time in that gorgeous place. Although that looks like a propane tank (?) under the counter in the corner to the right of the "desk" space. Could be that residents eat out a lot at a nearby equally secluded restaurant..........If there's a fridge, I missed it. Makes one wonder.... Am glad to see I'm not the only one who hangs the TP so it doesn't fly off the holder when used!!!! No place to stash my many books, so I'll need a second one of these for library/ painting/sewing space. But for weekends, I'm up for it......
ReplyDeleteYep - saw the sink - and I'm sure the fridge is an under the counter small one - and yes they must cook on the outdoor grill. You could build a she/shed out back as a reading room - complete with a stone fireplace lol !
DeleteI never thought of hanging the TP that way - it's brilliant actually :)

Wow That is a sweet house. I think I could live there...by myself but I would definitely need a 1500 square foot shop for my tools. In fact I think I could live in a 350 sq. foot house if I had a shop like that. Cheers.
ReplyDeleteI love it, but my knees wouldn't allow me to get up to the loft! And, there's something wrong with pulling the Murphy bed down within a foot of a blazing fireplace! I wouldn't mind living in very small house, but we have 5 cats who don't seem to get along and scads of craft and quilting supplies. Maybe we will eventually downsize to this point. It seems to be a movement that won't be going away any time soon.
ReplyDeleteThe perfect hideaway! What a beautiful setting...it makes me feel calm. I agree about the loft- no thanks!
ReplyDeleteOtherwise, I could be happy there for some R&R. Can I go today???
Oh my this is so perfect! I could live there for sure! Love it Suzan! Thanks for joining Home Sweet Home!
ReplyDeleteToo small... where in the world would you paint your furniture?
ReplyDeleteLike Anne, I'd keep the cat and like you I'd change the stairs.
ReplyDeleteI could definitely give this home a try! Like you, I'd need better access to the loft. The beams in the ceiling are divine! This home is spectacular!
ReplyDeleteWow! Beautifully constructed and decorated!
ReplyDeleteI think I fell in love. This is absolutely beautiful. I want something like this! :-)
ReplyDeleteOh me too Alexandra !
DeleteDreams CAN come in small packages LOL !

From the thumbnail, I thought this was going to be in Carmel. It is adorable. Love the rafters, but the stairs/ladder not so much. I'd have to give up wine or stay downstairs.
ReplyDeleteEilis@MyHeartLivesHere
It DOES look like a Carmel cottage doesn't it?
DeleteGive up wine or stay downstairs LMHO - I'd opt for the latter solution personally :)

I know I could definitely NOT live in this tiny house. Did you notice how huge the cat looks!?! I could downsize to 1000 sq ft, but that is my limit.
ReplyDeleteSo so cute, I could live there but would need a different way up to the second floor too.
ReplyDeleteThose stairs look just a little teeny bit intimidating, don't they? LOL

Seriously charming! Thanks so much for linking up with us at Best of the Weekend. You're our most viewed feature this Friday night!
ReplyDeleteWow ! Thanks SO much Jenna !
DeleteSee you tonight

I'm fascinated with those shows, too, and it seems so tempting to unload a lot of crap and live more simply. But in reality, I don't think I could really part with so much. However, if someone offered me this house, I'd gladly put my stuff in storage and move in!
ReplyDeleteMaybe you could build a bunkhouse for the kids LOL - just keep the main house for Mama and Papa !!!
Deletexox
that is funny. I just watched the show about small spaces yesterday. I loved the house! The only thing is our family would fit in there. There are 9 of us. But maybe when I get old and all of my children are out of the house.
ReplyDeleteMay be a small house but it sure looks very expensive. Wonder if the people live in it year round.
ReplyDeleteIt DOES look expensive but oh my gosh what a retreat - I'd give anything to spend weekends there !
