I don't decorate for Valentine's day ( or Easter for that matter ) but I do love a pretty heart so when I came across this at the dollar store
I grabbed it knowing I could change it up a little ( the bright red is a little garish for me - not that there's anything wrong with garish ) with my favorite paint - ASCP - Paris Grey !
I had some wire and pearl garland that fit it perfectly around the edges
I placed it on a twig heart I had to make it a little more substantial and voila - for 3.00 I have a
You never know - I may just end up with an Easter egg or two on my front door next month :)

Have a wonderful day everyone - and please - if you can - come back tonight?

That door heart art is awesome, Suzan! I have a red door also and I think it's inspired that you painted it grey and spangled it up some. Now, it really is an eyecatcher!
ReplyDeleteYour door looks beautiful. Nice job.
ReplyDeleteThanks Thelma !!!

I love how you made this better! Hearts are for any time (IMO), and this looks perfect on your door, Suzan.
ReplyDeleteFrom my happy heart to yours!~ That looks great and I really do like that red door! Perfect for VALENTINE'S DAY! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI didn't find the red attractive, but the gray is perfect. You always have a great sense for changing items.
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw the first photo I thought your heart was about 2" across. Then when I saw it on the door... it's large. Love the grey/blue (and it sparkles... cool ;) )
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done! It shows up so perfectly on your door - love it! xo Patty
ReplyDeleteThanks Patty !
DeleteI need to start emptying out my storage unit but for some reason I need a break from furniture painting - first time in .........ever !
xox
That looks Awesome on your beautiful red door.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you come up with for the rest of the holidays :}
Ooooo!C'est tres joli, Madame Suzan! You are truly a magician! You have great ideas, too. I woulda just left it red, cuz I am not very creative, but you and your magic paint brush...Ooo la-la! It is much prettier painted like you did, and the embellishments are to die for! Your creativity is enviable! The heart stands out really nicely on the red doors! I LOVE those red doors!
ReplyDeleteI sure hope your back is much better!
Hugs,
Laura/Hazel
Merci Madame Ethel LOL !!!
DeleteI'm not a magician or I'd wave my wand and this hell hole would be completely renovated and sold and I'd be back living downtown !
But thanks LOL !
xoxo
How can you call it a hole when you have transformed it into a very cozy, attractive and magazine-worthy home! Honestly, it is adorable---you decorate it so well, and the shutters and the door and the kitchen and bedrooms, etc., all the transformations you've shown us--they are a big, beautiful improvement of the way it was when you bought it!
DeleteYou are so funny! I am the same way. I don't normally decorate for certain holidays either, but darn if I don't see some things that change my mind! Your door decor is so cute for Valentines Day. Good thing you painted it grey since your door is already red! Now it stands out perfectly.
ReplyDeleteOh! It's bigger than I thought! I like how you glammed it up. Looks completely different. Hugs
ReplyDeleteCecilia
that's a darling heart..love it gray.
ReplyDeleteoh, so cute, Suzan! Perfect for the Day of Hearts!
ReplyDeleteLove it Suzan! You made it your own ;)
ReplyDeleteI see HELLO at the bottom of the door.
ReplyDeleteI think it's funny that I love red and you love gray, but you found the heart in red and I have the exact same one in gray!
Thanks for Sharing Your Cup!
I heart your heart.
ReplyDeleteOMG! I bought two of these at my dollar store last week knowing I could do something with them too! Thank you for the great idea!
ReplyDeleteJann.

You said the heart was from the dollar store. Could you tell us which one so that we might find one?! I want to make this! :-)
ReplyDeleteSuzan, I love the red door. The bit of the original red on the heart helps tie it to the door. Great job. Sylvia D.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Suzan! I love the red <3 Pinning to our IMP board! XO
