THINKING OUTSIDE THE BOX

Last week when I went picking with Dorothy - I found this box - and I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it

another paint storage solution ( it's ridiculous how much paint I have really - and I've had to literally think outside the "box"  because I no longer have a garage.

I painted it white and grabbed those trusty stencils once again - and came up with this

It can hold 16 quart sized tins of paint - 4 waxes - and paint brushes. Not bad for 5 dollars!

And I also found this little table for 5 dollars -

And 100% I took a before photo of this and can't find it anywhere - must have deleted it by accident -
It was typical 60's oak anyway - painted it with ASCP WHITE - and then printed out the laurel wreath from
the Graphics Fairy - and ran as fast as I could ( while the ink was still wet ) and placed it on the surface and rubbed a regular pencil on it like this

you can see the print underneath it quite clearly - I didn't trace this - I just rubbed the pencil against it ( with a lot of force actually )

and ended up with this adorable little table ( my friend's aunt was looking for a small table - think I'll gift it to her..................)
perfect to plunk your purse down or your keys!

And I really have to get started on big pieces - I have so many pieces half finished that I'm feeling totally overwhelmed right now -
I have to methodically pick ONE thing and stick with it till it's done!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Sunday

  3. Very, very cute pieces- both of them. I am slowly tackling my projects one at a time. I have a habit of starting 15 different things at once and I am trying not to do that anymore- xo Diana

  4. I have so many things on the go and nothing finished to post about! Maybe I should set up an assembly line. Nah, today I'm going to a pool party. Tomorrow, I'll start my sweatshop. I haven't tried transferring while the ink is wet, but I'm going to give it a try! ~ Maureen

  9. Love the box! I really need something for all my paint too. And the table! Beautiful...and I'm in the middle of doing one too! Did it in chalk paint, just have to print out a stencil for the top (plan on Parisienne too!)and then wax & stress.

  16. Not one pretty projects but two. It's amazing what paint can do for a piece, make it into something beautiful again. I especially like the box, tugged at my heart! You sure do good work! Thanks for sharing your creative inspiration with Sunday’s Best – you helped make the party a success!

  18. How lovely! THat is an interesting technique with the pencil. What kind of paper did you print it on before the pencil rubbing?

  19. Love, love the box! Hey, the pencil idea was great. Wondered if that might work. Now I know it does. Did you stencil the center portion or do it the same way? You are always creating wonderful pieces. Thanks for sharing them with SYC.

  24. Love seeing how that transfer trick works. I need to do something like that and I'm a bit nervous about messing up my painted piece because I'm out of the paint I used to fix it if I ruin the finish. These are so very cool. Good luck with the projects. I can totally relate to the half done collection of furniture pieces etc. awaiting completion. Looks like you are getting there!
