Subway Dresser

The above is " look out " point here in Montreal - since Montreal ( originally Mount Royal ) was built on a mountain you can drive to the top of the mountain and look out over downtown...............
I used to love sitting there with a baguette on my lunch hour,
I may or may not have kissed a boy up there in the 70's.

an homage to my home town ( get it - homage - french word - Montreal ? )

I still call it Park Ave...................like the rest of the English - but Ave du Parc has a nice ring to it............
And it's how it now appears on the street signs...................
I simply stencilled all of the fonts onto the dresser fronts and then filled them in with a silver Sharpie.

I painted it with ASCP - Graphite - no distressing at all ( except for the handles )
This is a redo - of a redo - but was really quick - probably took all of 2 hours to do..................

and the before

Have a good Monday All - had computer problems here last night - that has taken me till now to figure out!
Thanks so much to the following awesome bloggers for featuring this dresser!  It's beyond thrilling!

  6. I am in love with that graphite color. The graphics are the right touch. Will you include all the places you kissed a boy in future projects? Won't John mind?

  11. Ah yes! Great family memories, that lookout point! We used to go for Sunday drives and sometimes we'd end up in Westmount to gawk at the rich people's mansions. We'd end up at that lookout point or the one on the other side. I loved looking out at the city, especially at night.

That dresser was nices, but it sure needed cleaning up. You did a great job with it!
