I WANNA live there Wednesday # 36

I live in a pretty incredible area - in Montreal, It's an historical neighbourhood loaded with tons and tons of charm - and 20th century architecture, just steps away from the city center, it's also a pretty expensive neighbourhood ( in which I live in servants quarters basically compared to what I'm surrounded by )
Because there are days I don't have furniture makeovers to show you - I've chosen Wednesdays to showcase and feature one or two homes that are for sale around here.................( or apartment - or duplex - or teepee )
Keep in mind this is in the heart of the city - so the prices reflect that  - think Manhattan - where these places would cost 3 or 4 times what they're listed for here!
On occasion I'll showcase beautiful homes in other areas - countries - continents - the one thing most of them will have have in common will be their age - because I love old homes with stories to tell, join me won't you?

Does Wednesday seem to be coming quicker and quicker to anyone else?
It just seems like yesterday when it was Tuesday......................

Ok - first one up is an apartment - a turn of the century apartment building
( ok I'm exaggerating again - built in 1906 - old enough )
Here's the Realtor's description

Fabulous top floor 2 bedroom, 2 bath corner apartment with views reminiscent of a Paris

cityscape. Sunny open concept living space has 10' plus ceiling height with wood beams,

exposed brick, fireplace and halogen accent lighting. Master suite with ensuite, great closets

and balcony. Indoor parking and storage. A/C. Ideal Victoria Village location!

659,000

Realtor Tania Kalecheff

Let's take a peak -  This is really a spectacular apartment!

Talk about filled to the brim with character - those beams - that fireplace - the exposed brick and yet they've brought it into this millenium by opening everything up - talk about a perfect marriage between old and new!

Love those " angled "  windows!

A perfect " niche "

Great idea to have cupboards facing the dining room!!!

Is that stove MIRROR?????  I've never seen stainless steel shine like that

master bath

The next apartment goes for 649,000 ( Upper Duplex )

An unrivaled location, charming exposed brick walls, an exceptionally large master bedroom, and easily-accessed private parking spot are but a few of the many features that make this light-filled 2 bedroom upper duplex a city dweller's paradise.

Realtor Liza Kaufman

Just as gorgeous as the first one!  And absolutely love how charming this street is!

When you open the front door - there is a staircase that leads you to your apartment - this would be your own personal staircase............and once you walk up the stairs you're in your space - LOVE the railing ( at one time this would have been an enclosed stairwell - and  you would have opened a door to enter the apartment...........so much better this way!

The next one is a lower unit - so you have a terrace!

Again 649,000
Year built 1896
2 bedrooms - 2 baths
This place is HUGE

Realtor Martin Rouleau

The Terrace is a MAJOR PLUS - and it's right in the heart of what is called Victoria Village - surrounded by quaint small stores - restaurants - ect....

Choices Choices Choices LOL
I love them all for different reasons..........................
You?

See you tomorrow :)
Much love,

  1. As if I needed all these incredible pictures to taunt me as I look around at all the junk I have to deal with. If I don't take my eyes off the screen, I could imagine I'm there instead, though, and tune out the pile of found furniture that keeps me company in real life.

  2. It is like House Porn. I would consider leaving the palm trees to live in one of those rooms!

  3. What can I get for a Loonie? (probably not even an Aero bar, dammit!)

  4. Suzan,
Oh my I love all three. I love all the exposed brick. Yummy!!! The only thing that would have to go in the 2nd one is the work out stuff. Better a craft room or office. Ha Ha I love Japolina's comment House Porn. So true!!!!!

Love them, but I think the first one stole my heart!

  7. I'm shocked by my first response: "Ooh, these are only $650k". In my neck of the woods $650k will buy you an entire ranch. But I've gotten used to 'househunting' through you on Wednesdays.
    Loved all three here.

  8. I love all three of these but for some reason I am drawn to the first one the most. It has the most character and is more my style. I so enjoy your I Wanna Live There Wednesdays.

  14. Gorgeous!! That first one is my favorite. Find out about that stainless steel "mirror" look. I'm going to have stainless steel when I move. I'd love for you to come down and help me decorate...I'll gladly pour the wine!
