Good morning all!
I finally finished the mirror that goes with the princess
I had this old mirror that I've tried to imagine on many many pieces - but it was usually just a little too large
( this dresser is wider then it appears )
Suzan says - John where's that shield shaped mirror
John says - Aw come on - you're not going to stick that on top of this dresser?
John says - You'll ruin it
John says - I don't know why you bought it - it looks like a horses A$$
Suzan says - can you bring it upstairs please?
Now those of you with eyes that actually work - will notice the 2 sides are not the same on the bottom part of my mirror -
Being someone who's eyes DO NOT work - I never noticed it - even as I painted it - I never noticed it until the next day actually -
How is that possible, you ask?
I don't have a clue - but it's a little scary, don't you think?
It was a very quick fix - John sawed off some wood on one side to make them the same...........
ahhh that's better - now what do you think - I personally think it looks like a crown
and not what John thinks at all - who's on my side on this one?
and we picked up this pretty little thing
As I type this I haven't seen it in person yet -
but I couldn't resist...............
Have a great Thursday - one and all!
Much love,
Suzan

I think it looks lovely. I never noticed the odd bit either. It looks great now. The new piece is gorgeous too. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks SO much Jeanette!!!!

I didn't notice the broken piece either, crazy! I love the dresser, it's just beautiful! Personally I'm not sure if I like the mirror on it though, I guess I'll have to agree with John this time ;) the vanity will be gorgeous I know!
ReplyDeleteHaha, I didn't notice it either until you pointed it out. Yay, John to the rescue! I think it's a perfect finishing touch to the dresser. And I love your next piece! Can't wait to see what you do to it!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Cecilia
I do like the mirror on the dresser. (Nice that John is handy with a saw!)
ReplyDeleteWe must have eyes that work about the same as I also had to be shown the sides were different. But, WOW, does it ever look great on that dresser!!♥♫
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Suzan!!! Love the new piece too I can't wait to see what you do with that little gem. I did not notice the difference in the sides either. How weird!!! She looks beautiful with her new crown.
ReplyDeleteKris
Looks beautiful! Love the new piece as well..
ReplyDeletethanks so much !!!
DeleteI'm working on the new piece right now ( just taking a little break )
XOXOX
My hat is off to John's work on evening those pieces out. I know it was much harder than it looks. No one wants to know what it would look like if I tried it.
ReplyDeleteYour new little vanity is adorable.
Looks perfect with that mirror on top, like they were made to be together. (Kind of like you and John?)
ReplyDeleteOh Suzan! That vanity is soooo pretty! I'm a vanity whore...never met one I didn't like.
ReplyDeleteThat's quite funny about the mirror being different. Not sure I would have noticed it either. John to the rescue!! Nice to know guys are good for something besides foot rubs.
John, dear, you are WRONG. It does not look like a horse's A$$ but it does look totally awesome now that you have trimmed it-funny how girls didn't notice?!
ReplyDeleteGreat marriage, Suzan!!
I love your blog, Suzan, but please! I can't get that song out of my head now.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous work, as usual.
LMHO - but that's how my poor brain works - seriously it's a disorder - I see everything in terms of songs - so you have to suffer this ailment along with me - sorry about that LOL
DeleteThanks Teri!
XOXOX
Oh I love the mirror on that dresser! John has no sense of style I guess! heehee!
ReplyDeleteSuzan,
ReplyDeleteI'm totally on your side, the mirror adds even more charm to an already gorgeous piece. I have to be honest I didn't notice the piece until you pointed it out. I may have when painting but who, when I have painted pieces I'm so focused on what I am doing truth be told I would have missed it.
Tomorrow is the big day, we move in with my girlfriend. Fingers crossed that everything goes smoothly.
Cynthia
Suzan, you and John kavetching makes me laugh every time. Niiiiice piece!
ReplyDeleteWe used to have a sign in the office about Kvetching Erin LMHO....................

Guess my eyes are bad too, I didn't notice. Thankfully John came to the rescue.
ReplyDeleteBliss
I didn't notice either. But then again, it wouldn't have bothered me anyways. I think that's what makes old things neat.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see what you do with that vanity - GORGEOUS!
I'm working on the vanity tonight!
DeleteCan't wait - it's too cute :)

I think my eyes are bad too because I didn't notice. You're lucky to have a man w/a saw. I'd butcher that so bad trying to make it even. :)
ReplyDeleteI didn't notice it but I kind of liked it wonky!
ReplyDeleteI didn;t notice either but I think its a crown not part horse!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what you do with the new thing I like the open top.
OMG Suzan. I am in love with that last piece. IN LOVE.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!!!
ReplyDeleteAre my eyes bad or are the two sides not exactly the same size. They look alike, and it might be the angle of the shot, but I swear the right side piece looks longer than the left side. Are my eyes worse than yours maybe?????
ReplyDeleteI think I'm also in love with the finished piece, mirror and all. It's really impressive and beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Longer, no. Wider. Right side looks wider.
ReplyDeletelol - It's the angle of the photo - they're the same size!!!
DeleteThanks for your kind words Marje!

ReplyDeleteSorry John, I'm with Suzan this time. The mirror is absolutely perfect on the dresser. Thus said, you did a great job making the piece even. Tell Suzan, I say "hi!".
ReplyDeleteThe perfect tiara for the princess.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great Suzan! I'm drooling over that desk....I need a computer desk and it would be perfect!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful job Susan. I just scored a big round vanity mirror & am looking for just the right piece to go with it. I think yours is a perfect match! Thanks for sharing, Dee from My Painted Stuff
ReplyDeleteI love the mirror on the dresser looks beautiful, funny I did not notice the two sides till you mentioned it lol I love the little vanity you just picked up, can't wait to see what you do to it. hugs Tobey
