Thank you !

You're well wishes moved me to tears - what an exhausting exhilarating over the top wonderful weekend it was.
You just KNOW there's a birth story coming up, right ?
But not today.

An emergency cesarian on Saturday morning - where the decision was made within minutes...........and Ashley was up and moving around Saturday evening by Sunday morning she was tidying the room - this morning she's ready to go - go - go !  And it's pretty certain she will in fact be going home today.

The nurses are calling her the Rock Star of the ward LOL

Today I'm making a big batch of beef stew because THEY'RE ON THEIR WAY HOME!
And a Shepherd's Pie
And a baked macaroni
And a home made soup
And an apple crisp
and - and - and

Because my rock star needs proper nutrition and I can't trust her to eat properly - don't you know?

Ashley says - I'm not a baby for goodness sake Mom - I know I have to eat properly
Mom says - Hmmmmm - well let's just say it's my job to make sure you do for now

Oh my gosh - he's here everybody -
And I have so much to talk about - I'm hoping by Friday's chat I have his Mommy's permission to do so !
There's things I've learned.................

You guys are also my rock stars - I felt like I had a cheerleading section rooting for us and it was the most amazing feeling in the world.  I'm going to try my best to reply to each email - but if life happens please know how much you mean to me.

All my love,
Me

  1. its the most divine of all feelings that you have the chance to welcome a new life into the family, and that it is your special daughter that has made the introduction... I loved meeting all my grandchildren the first time, its simply beyond words, so I can understand all your joy shown in your latest post.. so happy for y ou that she is well after the trauma and that his lordship is being a good baby and all is well with your family.. her husband must have had a few anxious moments, but its all over now, until the next time that is!!!! hugs to a new grandma, from one who is older... not elderly yet, just older ha ha

  2. What a happy looking couple with their newborn! Ashley looks a lot like you Suzan. You could be twins. I'm glad she is doing so well but having a C section requires rest (I had 2 of them!!) so I hope she takes advantage of every moment that the grandparents can give to help out. Not a bad deal eh? Have fun and enjoy this special time. Hugs. Pam

  12. For heaven's sake take care of YOU! You sound like you're run off your feet. Your adrenaline will quit on you soon enough - just sit and play with the baby.

Ok I'm done. Enjoy your little bundle!

  29. I've been a bit out of the loop since moving 2 weeks ago! So...Congratulations to everyone on the birth of Evan! My granddaughter is on schedule to deliver in about 12 days, she says. We will be going to Ohio to visit when she will be there with the baby. I'm excited. Now, to find someone to check in on the cats while we're gone!
