I live in a pretty incredible area - in Montreal, It's an historical neighbourhood loaded with tons and tons of charm - and 20th century architecture, just steps away from the city center, it's also a pretty expensive neighbourhood ( in which I live in servants quarters basically compared to what I'm surrounded by )
Because there are days I don't have furniture makeovers to show you - I've chosen Wednesdays to showcase and feature one or two homes that are for sale around here.................( or apartment - or duplex - or teepee )Keep in mind this is in the heart of the city - so the prices reflect that - think Manhattan - where these places would cost 3 or 4 times what they're listed for here!
On occasion I'll showcase beautiful homes in other areas - countries - continents - the one thing most of them will have have in common will be their age - because I love old homes with stories to tell, join me won't you?

YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT WEDNESDAY
BIG HUGS,
Partying with !!!
Oh, oh, oh!!! Second house as I am a complete sucker for turrets! I do like that kitchen better and the guest house would be the most incredible space for my studio. Now I'M off to get a lottery ticket...and a passport!
ReplyDeleteI might just be able to scrape enough together for the coach house! Both utterly gorgeous. Not only the houses, but the beautiful settings too. I need to marry for money next time, lol.
ReplyDeleteImpossible to choose, Suzan! They are both so gorgeous. But I don't think I'd be able to get further than the coach house...LOL... Not unless the lottery comes in! Even so, I'd be content with that as it's by the water.
ReplyDeleteThey're both beautiful, but I have to go with the second one! Oh I could be happy there forever!!
ReplyDeleteMmmm gorgeous!!! I wonder why these homes are for sale in this belle province de Quebec??? Oh so gorgeous. :(. I know the owners of one of these homes and the reason why they decided to sell.
ReplyDeleteC
Wow! These are really spectacular! I'll take door #2!
ReplyDeleteWow, these are spectacular homes Suzan. I think I might be able to afford one of the smaller rooms in one of them or perhaps the carriage house. lol The second one is really gorgeous but who needs all that room???
ReplyDeleteI am torn. I cannot decide between the indoor pool of the first, or the stained glass windows and hobbit door under the stairs of the second...
ReplyDeleteWOW Suzan, they both are perfect. I love them, but that lake is calling my name. I would volunteer to just sleep in the kitchens, gorgeous!!! I wouldn't mind that carriage house either if it had a nice bed and no smelly animals, LOL!
ReplyDeleteCynthia
Absolute EYE candy. I LOVE that first house -well, both of them- but I want to put Kitchen #2 in House #1. Do you think that would be too much to ask?;>) xo Diana
ReplyDeleteI love everything about that first house except for the flagstone wall and the parquet flooring in the billiards room. In fact, I'd be willing to settle for half an acre. down by the river. What a gorgeous setting!
ReplyDeleteLOVE, LOVE the interior of the 2nd one, but not the exterior. Sigh. I'm so hard to satisfy. LOL
Beautiful. Who has $2 million?
ReplyDeleteBonjour, y'all! (I'm southern of French descent!) Gosh, not one person mentioned the housekeeping staff to run these two estates!?! I'll just need that indoor pool and I will be happy. As long as I don't have to clean it.
ReplyDeleteOh my! My question is "Who wouldn't want to live there"? Just plain gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOhhhhhh love them both but my heart is in the first one. That dining room with the fireplace oh my!!!! I love to entertain and that would be a dream dining room to have. That stone wall and staircase. Wooooo love it. I love the coach house on the second one. I could live there!!!!! Both are great and beautiful homes. I just wish I had a spare million or two!!!!
ReplyDeleteKris
I would like to bid on the 1st house : ) The pool?! the cabinets, oh my.
ReplyDeletebut I do love the bedrooms on the 2nd home. Thanks for yet again making me drool.
Ok Lauren - I'll take the 2nd one then LOL
DeleteAnd you're so welcome for the drool - I do it about - oh a hundred times a day since I started
blogging!!!
It's part and parcel lmho
XOXO
I'm going to outbid Lauren (above me) on house #1. :)
ReplyDeleteI like the size of the rooms on the main floor, and the awesome rich wood in the kitchen!
OMG Suzan, I am swooning a both houses, but I love the first one more - I don't know, despite the size, I still feel it's "quaint"! Love the views too! Thanks for the tour!
ReplyDeleteWhat I LOVE about the first house is the pure luxury of space tho I am not a fan of dark wood anywhere, especially in the kitchen. For some reason I couldn't get my bearings in house #2...do the rooms all seem disjointed from each other? But that darling little door under the staircase in house 2....leaves you to ponder what might be behind it :-)
ReplyDeleteYou and Kris from junkchiccottage loose in in there each with a paint brush? Oh boy.
I'm voting for the first one with a kitchen makeover!
ReplyDeleteThe first is my favorite although if one were to be given to me, I would be happy with either one!
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is WOW....just WOW! I can't imagine living in something so beautiful! The coach house is much more my speed...but I think I could easily adjust to living like a millionaire! :) Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteBlessings, Vicky
Life On Willie Mae Lane
Only in my dreams.....actually my dreams don't even know about houses like these!!
ReplyDeletefabulous... makes me so jealous !
ReplyDeleteme too lol!

I love them but I still really love that cute one you posted last time, the second one. These feel too massif for me.... and my pocketbook.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, but too big. What can you find me on a river for around $500,000 Canadian?
ReplyDeleteWell, if you include a full staff to garden, clean, etc., I'll take the 2nd one!

Wow! That's a tough choice. I love the lot and the exterior of house #1, as well as the exposed stone wall and that grand staircase. But I think I like the interior of house #2 better. I love the sun room with all those windows. I'll just take them both.
ReplyDeleteNow Betsy - you can't be greedy LOL - I want one of them afterall!!!
DeleteXOXO
Oh my goodness! They are both beautiful. That room in the second house with all the windows- sunroom, I think. Love it! The coach house is fab too. Wow
ReplyDeleteAmazing - both of them. Incredible ceilings.
ReplyDeleteSpeechless is right! Loved both homes. I miss you linking up to SYC.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
Those are so ginormous I could do cartwheels in them!
ReplyDeleteIf only I could still do cartwheels...
-andi
Love the view of the lake too! I lived in Montreal for a year when I was a child but definitely not in such spacious homes.
ReplyDeletegee whiz...they could have cleaned out the walk-in closet of the second house! i love the architecture on this one!
ReplyDeleteI prefer the second one, it has more charming features, but 16 rooms??? I think I prefer the smaller one you showed us in a previous IWLTW!
