As much as I hate the fact that it's so close..................I can't keep pretending it's not happening - Fall will be here before I know it. ( Y.U.C.K. ) and I only say that because I really really dread the season after it.
I switched the dining area ( there won't be so many meals eaten out here in the near future sadly ) with the
seating area.................because although this looked nice on the deck - we can't actually sit on the furniture because leaves and twigs and branches and acorns keep landing on our heads whenever we try. This area is a little protected ( which is why the table goes here in the summer )
And though I still don't want Fall to arrive - I DO like how warm and cozy this area looks.
We sat out there last night - the first time we actually sat for a week !
And as it gets a little chillier at night - I'll bring out a throw for myself because I'm going to enjoy this for as long as it's physically possible................you may even catch me out there when snow starts falling lol.
I added as many candles as I could to give the illusion of warmth and I'm thinking of purchasing a
Chiminea so that we can actually HAVE warmth as well.................
I bought the outdoor carpet at Home Depot in June or July - for 39.00 and it just may come into the dining room for the winter months ( if we ever get the dining room finished of course )
These hold up remarkably well - the last one I had lasted 4 years - 2 of them where I kept it outside all winter long out of laziness )
AND it's reversible - with the other side having the pattern in the reverse colors
I never do much Fall decorating on the inside - perhaps a mantel or two..............some fall floral arrangements - a few throws here and there - but nothing more than that - so this is it folks - this is probably the only post you're going to see on Fall decor from this blog
That blank canvas on the back wall above the sofa ?
I have a plan for it - other than that I'm done !
I'll just sit here all cozy like - staring at the pool - and wishing summer lasted a month or two longer
And if you're still jumping in and out of yours...................
Have a heart - I really don't want to know ♥
Hoping you all have a wonderful summery weekend :)
Hugs,
Me

Suzan it looks so cozy and inviting. Love this extra room you created outside. Beautiful and I love all the candles so pretty.
ReplyDeleteYou need to get a few to float in the pool too!!!!
Kris
I don't blame you for wanting to spend time out there. It's very pretty. Even though I'm from the south, it still gets cold enough that I'm relegated indoors for Jan and Feb....our coldest months. And even though our summers can be almost unbearable sometimes, I still can't imagine the winters you guys have. Enjoy your evenings on your patio. And I hope you're spoiling the mess out of little Evan!
ReplyDeleteLOVE those colours together. Looks super cozy and happy. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty, cozy space. The chiminea is a great idea.

Thanks Sophie !

Your outdoor area looks all cozy and sweet.
ReplyDeleteWe are still in the 90's here so fall seems like years away...it usually kind of sneaks up on us..
I think this makes a very cozy spot for the next few weeks as we jump into fall. I like the round wire tea light holders hanging there. It all looks sweet and so nicely sheltered and comfy. I hope you get a few more weeks use out of it. Enjoy! Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteCozy !!!! I love that coffee table !!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Pati ( that coffee table was a diy project ! )

Suzan, what a "WOW!!" space you have created! As for the pool... I have two words for you: Pool. Heater. :))))
ReplyDeleteEnjoy!! ~ Christina
Suzan, I have seen so many pumpkins in the last week, that I dream them. So it's a nice refreshing change to see some subtle Fall decor. Thanks for the un-overload! (Do I even make sense?)
ReplyDeleteLMHO Mary !!!
DeleteThanks SO much - ( now I'm definitely not going to do pumpkins LOL )

Hi Suzan!!
ReplyDeleteThis was the best summer with beautiful high temperatures here and I DON'T want to say good-bye!!
I live in dresses and sandals from Spring almost through to Fall and yesterday I had to put jeans on...NOOOOOOO!!!!!
This area does look cozy and warm!! Are you allowed fire-pits where you are? Even cooler temperatures, it's beautiful to be outdoors!!
Have a super great weekend!!

Sorry, Suzan, but yeah...we're about to get into the pool with a cold adult beverage when hubby gets home. It's still hot here. Can't wait until it's cool enough to make a pot of Ree Drummond"s 7-can soup !
ReplyDeleteBeautiful area
ReplyDeletegood to know about the Hope Depot outdoor carpet
I will be looking for one soon
Thanks so much Marcie !
DeleteI should have bought 2 of them really - one for the deck too :)

I moved back to Missouri after spending 5 years in Florida. People thought I was crazy but it made me crazy having the ac on 11 months a year. I love the seasons. Chin up!!
ReplyDeleteSuzan, I really LOVE what you've done with that outdoor space! It is very cozy! The lighting is really nice and MAKES it! I don't know where you got all of those candle holders, but they are fantastic! You really are talented! So COZY! I don't blame you for wanting to be able to stay out there as long as possible!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Laura/Hazel
Aw.........thanks so much Laura !
DeleteHaven't had much time to sit out there - isn't that a shame? Working on DIY shutters this weekend :)
XOXO
Looks lovely for a place to relax. I don't decorate for fall at all. We've had record high temperatures the past two days... just wonderful. Before you get a chimnea make sure they are allowed in your area, some places have banned them.
ReplyDeleteIt looks all so cozy and I'm jealous! Oh well. November. Then we'll be cool and cozy! Love your lanterns - they are so pretty. I hope you get to enjoy your nice spot for a long while yet. Have a good one!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Cecilia
Love your cozy area. I would be out there until the snow fly's. I am so ready for Fall that I can hardly contain myself. I have finished my Fall decorations and as we get closer to Halloween will put my scary things out for the kids. I gave away almost all of the scary things.
ReplyDeleteYou have done one terrific job remodeling your home, it's terrific Suzan.
Enjoy your weekend. Have some hot toddy's when you out in your cozy little space.
Mary
What a fabulous spot to sit and enjoy a glass...bottle of wine or hot rum toddy under a blankie. It looks so inviting Suzan! If I lived in Montreal you may have found a strange lady enjoying your covered patio when you weren't looking. BYOB
ReplyDeleteSo sorry you don't love fall! It is my very favorite season. Finally the temperatures have moderated, the sunlight is coming in at that lovely late summer, early fall angle, the air is crisping up and the night temperatures make it great sleeping weather...and the colors! Well, I could go on. Enjoy your cute little sitting area.
ReplyDeleteSummer's my favorite - by far - and then Spring but I have to agree with the sleeping part - it was heavenly last night without air conditioning and the curtains blowing slightly !
DeleteThanks so much Teddee !

Beautiful. :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed weekend.

Suzan. your fall patio looks fabulous! I know exactly what you mean about sticks and acorns falling on the seating and table, how nice that you have a covered area. Looks like the perfect spot to cozy up with some coffee in the morning or a glass of wine at night:). Thanks so much for sharing your cozy fall patio at Dream. Create. Inspire. Link. Have a wonderful rest of your week. Take care, Tara
ReplyDeletewhat a cool spot!!
ReplyDeleteThanks SO much !

Really a cozy retreat Suzan! I love the hanging lights. I love fall, but am not looking forward to the cold winter. Last year was so mild, and I loved it; but we really need the moisture; Thanks for sharing with SYC.
