Happy Friday everyone - and it is a happy Friday - because while in my lab yesterday I came up with this,
a "By George, I think I've got it" moment!!!
I'm in the midst of painting an antique dresser all white - and wanted a little " color " on the handles -
I LOVE patina.
I started off with these ( my favorite types of handles by the way )
I sprayed them lightly with this ( lightly - leaving some of the brassy color showing through )
Rust-oleum Metallic -
While it was still tacky - I lightly spray painted with the next color - this is called AQUA
Don't ask me why I did it while it was still tacky - I should say I was trying out a new
technique but the plain simple truth is I couldn't wait the 10 minutes it takes for one coat
of spray paint to dry................
and this was the result!!!
Doesn't that look like perfectly aged copper ( Church Steeples ) ?
Watch - I'll start putting patina on everything in sight lmho.................
I may practice this a little more - put in some pinks and a deep turquoise in areas - but for now - I have
patina - fied handles for my dresser! I'm thinking these are going to be so pretty against white drawers!
( they'd look even prettier on a shabby chic dresser )
Ok - gotta run - have a lot of things I need to get my patina on :)
Oh and by the way!!! I just found out yesterday that I had become a no reply blogger -
I had no idea that happens when you switch to Google +
So here I am with a no reply blogger fix on my blog - and I've been a no reply blogger for at
least a month - how embarrassing :(
If anyone has made the switch - chances are you're one too - please visit Fluster Buster for a step by step
fix to this problem!
AND Google should let you know this happens when you switch over, don't you think?
Many many thanks for the feature!
