Well here we go - the newest obsession is going to be this Pewter paint from Modern Masters ( as I predicted yesterday )
I have 8 wood charger plates - and believe it or not I really did love them in the deep dark brown color they were originally ( 8 years ago ) they looked great against a white table cloth. But after 8 years they were looking horribly dingy - and so they've been mostly hidden away in the buffet.............
until tonight........................
when I pulled out my Modern Masters paints
ahhh - much better
less is more?
what a bore
More!
I want More I tell ya!
I've only done one of them - but I'll number all of them 1 through 8
John says - ARE YOU PAINTING THE DAMN DISHES NOW?
John says - WE CAN'T EAT OFF DISHES YOU PAINT FOR GOD'S SAKES
Suzan says - They're not our dishes - they're only charger plates
John says - I'm getting sick to death of all of this - really - why don't you join a group or something
John says - You need to get your mind off paint
Suzan says - I was thinking of taking a painting class actually.......................
Have a terrific Tuesday all................
Paint something...............anything lol

ReplyDeleteYou could TEACH a painting class.
I Love Modern Masters paint. I used it all the time in my Faux Finishing days. It's a great paint. Love the dresser in Pewter, very glamorous. Beautiful job, Dee from My Painted Stuff
ReplyDeleteOh Suzan, you do belong to a group, a group of people that have a highly creative mind and aren't afraid to use it ;)
ReplyDeleteFaye (MacGIRLver)
lol - in some " wing " of an institution I would imagine !!!
DeleteXOX
Love the pewter it adds glamour!
ReplyDeleteC
What an improvement! I love how you added the numbers.
ReplyDeletesuper wonderfully cute! I wonder if they have something similar to AA for people with painting addictions :)
ReplyDeleteWhy don't you join a group or something? And then tell us all what it is, and we'll all join with you. Sounds fun!
ReplyDeleteThe flies on your walls just have to be living long, happy lives.......hahahahahahaha
ReplyDeleteI am laughing hysterically again! You two crack me up!!! The plates and the dresser are absolutely gorgeous! I love your sense of style and beauty inside and out! Happy Tuesday!!
ReplyDeleteThat is SO sweet of you Laurayne - thanks !!!!!!!!!
DeleteXOXOXOX
Did you make that plate especially for John? It says number 2.... :P
ReplyDeleteWhat a fantastic idea!!!! John just cracks me up! I love the addition of the numbers too. I may be stealing this idea!!
ReplyDeleteCynthia
Oh, John, everything looks better with paint. When stuff gets old and ugly, we paint it. Does he prefer you buy new? I'm an Old Master's addict. A jar of that stuff goes on forever!
ReplyDeleteYou're going to make that man's head explode.
ReplyDeleteReading these convos, I imagine that you two are Lucy and Ricky.
And boy...do you always have some 'splainin to do!
I can't tell you how many people tell me I remind them of Lucy LOL -
Deleteand yeah - I'm constantly 'splainin something or other.............
XOX
I truly love your conversations with John lol. :-)
ReplyDeletelol - thanks so much Laurie!
DeleteXOX
Funny! I wanna join that group too! Sounds like fun. Love the metallic chargers!
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I'm painting right now are my lips!! Love the chargers!
ReplyDeleteLol - thanks Heather
DeleteDo you distress them? Just a little?
XOX
John you better not stand still, she loves that paint, LOVES it and you could be next.
ReplyDeleteBliss
Suzan these came out really cute. I love that you are numbering them. So pretty.
ReplyDeleteKris
OMG...perfect. I have a bunch of charger plates that are all chipped paint. Such a great idea...tell John that it is catching on and girl in Quebec city is now painting her charger plates. You have started a fad. :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, my hubbie says that I will paint anything that doesn't move! They just don't get it! Cute idea with the number!
ReplyDeleteJenna
Thanks Jenna- can you tell I'm running out of things to paint LMHO???
DeleteXOX
Oh, I love Tina's comment! I am sooo laughing out loud right now!!! Oh.. and, of course, I love the chargers too!!
ReplyDeleteDon't you know "one" comes before "two"??? We have teachers meeting every evening this week, so on Tuesday, I came back home at 8:45 and was so tired I fed the cats but didn't feed myself and went straight to bed... I did dream I was painting, does that count?
ReplyDeleteLove it Suzan. Lets do virtual painting classes!!
ReplyDeleteJoin a group....!!! Cluck, cluck! They look great Suzan and love the numbers!
ReplyDeleteSome of your conversations with your husband remind me of conversations with mine. I just finished a dresser for a customer yesterday and I asked him what he thought. He said "You missed a spot." I had to explain to him that it was intentional distressing. And a project before that I used dark wax because the color turned out more vibrant than I wanted and he said it just looked dirty, LOL. Men just don't get it! :)
ReplyDeleteThe "You UGLY!" cheer on the charger definitely gave me the giggles. Why do men have such a wood obsession? Pun intended :>)
ReplyDeleteI love that paint! Paint something else, Suzan. Go ahead paint something - I dare you!
You're a pretty fancy chick with your chargers and all. Did John really say he was sick to death of paint? Isn't that grounds for divorce?
ReplyDeleteYour posts are really creative and really entertaining at the same time! I have no choice but to follow you now! Thanks for the inspiration and the good laugh! Have a great night! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Kim!!!
DeleteXOX
You should pain him while he's asleep :)
ReplyDeleteand I have plenty of opportunity Rick lol
DeleteXXX
I cracked up at John's first comment! I have been hearing things like that for years. So comforting that I am not alone.
ReplyDeleteLove the chargers, I have some gold chargers that need to be painted, just tired of them.
Have a great week, Ginger
LOL Suzan, you and John are classic!! But I love this idea! I've got a dozen cheap gold ones I haven't used in years...what a great idea! Thanks for the inspiration...now, where's my paint brush? (oh, and my blog...?)
ReplyDeleteDebbie :)
I think you joined a group....unfortunately I don't think it's helping. The group needs a group.....Love the plates! Do you number them so you can make sure a guest hasn't taken one? Like counting the silver?
