Another great story for my December series on the Goodness in People
"This is why December is one of our favorite times of the year.
Reddit user mikeoley, posted this heartwarming photo of a letter from the landlord of his Los Angeles apartment building. The letter -- which has since gone viral -- is sure to restore your faith in humanity:
"Please deduct $70 from your regular rent for the month of December and perhaps use those monies to purchase a gift for someone special in your life," the letter reads.
The landlord also expressed his gratitude to all the residents who have continued their stay with the company.
Needless to say, best landlord ever. "
Yes, needless to say for sure - what a wonderful gesture of good will at a time when for some it can make the world of a difference!
I loved this story - because it's something that's within the power of any landlord to do so - John and I were landlords for many years - and I thought we were one of the better ones - ( we did a lot for our tenants - over and beyond and got bitten in the you know what for it ) but still it never crossed my mind to offer a discount at christmas! It just simply never crossed my mind....................in this case charity really does begin at home I suppose - at a home you are renting out to another family.
