I WANNA live there # 41

I live in a pretty incredible area - in Montreal, It's an historical neighbourhood loaded with tons and tons of charm - and 20th century architecture, just steps away from the city center, it's also a pretty expensive neighbourhood ( in which I live in servants quarters basically compared to what I'm surrounded by )
Because there are days I don't have furniture makeovers to show you - I've chosen Wednesdays to showcase and feature one or two homes that are for sale around here.................( or apartment - or duplex - or teepee )
Keep in mind this is in the heart of the city - so the prices reflect that  - think Manhattan - where these places would cost 3 or 4 times what they're listed for here!
On occasion I'll showcase beautiful homes in other areas - countries - continents - the one thing most of them will have have in common will be their age - because I love old homes with stories to tell, join me won't you?
_____________________________________________________________________________________________

We have pre-war homes. flats and apartments in Montreal (like Manhattan) meaning before World War II
But the South has Antebellum homes - which are also prewar - but the CIVIL WAR...........now that's a home filled with history.

Series within a series - I plan on doing a mini-series ( like North an South ) within the I WANNA live there series just for these homes - they're so spectacular they deserve to have their own!

Antebellum Homes
Antebellum architecture (sometimes spelled ante-bellum, meaning "pre-war", from the Latinante, "before", and bellum, "war") is the neoclassical architectural style characteristic of theSouthern United States, especially the Old South, from after the birth of the United States in theAmerican Revolution, to the start of the American Civil War.[1][unreliable source?] Antebellum architecture is especially characterized by neoclassical and Greek revival style plantationhouses and mansions

Part 1 -
This week we have this one in Washington, Georgia -
just an old sweet song keeps Georgia on my mind
well an old sweet song and this house

997,000
house size 5,500 square feet

What a gorgeous home but take a moment to check out the furniture!!!

I don't know where to rest my eyes with this house really

furniture?
doors?
windows?
rooms?
floors?
fireplaces?

The west side porch (excellent swinging porch) overlooks the steet side yard and an original ornate well house while the east side porch (excellent rocking chair porch as evident by the many rockers) overlooks an inviting 18 x 36 inground pool tucked privately in an area amid gardens, meandering walkways and lovely gazebo. There is also a charming GUEST HOUSE on the grounds along with several quaint barns and farm structures.

here's where I'll put you up when you come to visit
OMG I'm so in love with this listing

and lastly for your listening pleasure
the great Ray Charles and Willie Nelson
have a wonderful Wednesday
much love,
Suzan

TOO MUCH ON MY PLATE?

Well here we go - the newest obsession is going to be this Pewter paint from Modern Masters ( as I predicted yesterday )

I have 8 wood charger plates - and believe it or not I really did love them in the deep dark brown color they were originally ( 8 years ago ) they looked great against a white table cloth.  But after 8 years they were looking horribly dingy - and so they've been mostly hidden away in the buffet.............

until tonight........................
when I pulled out my Modern Masters paints
ahhh - much better

less is more?
what a bore
More!
I want More I tell ya!

I've only done one of them - but I'll number all of them 1 through 8

John says - ARE YOU PAINTING THE DAMN DISHES NOW?
John says - WE CAN'T EAT OFF DISHES YOU PAINT FOR GOD'S SAKES
Suzan says - They're not our dishes - they're only charger plates
John says - I'm getting sick to death of all of this - really - why don't you join a group or something
John says - You need to get your mind off paint
Suzan says - I was thinking of taking a painting class actually.......................

Have a terrific Tuesday all................
Paint something...............anything lol
