A LITTLE DIVERSION?

Good morning everyone -

I needed to take a little break from packing last night - and by some fluke we opened our back door and this little end table was sitting there waiting to be " brushed "

The perfect little " diversion "

I first painted it entirely with Paris Grey but it looked a little boring - so I added a harlequin pattern using this
" diamond " cut out

until it looked like this ( sorry for the ridiculously terrible image - but I'm so tired I can barely type never mind play photographer - of which I'm lousy at, at the best of times :)
anyway you'll get the idea - also I marked x's where I wanted to paint them in to avoid confusion -

random thought - I don't know how I have any followers - really I don't -
I've had no time to reply to anyone
I've had no time to visit anyone
My photos are horrible
and I played with the idea - for 3 minutes - of taking a sabatical from blogging entirely
but really if the truth be known, right now, this little blog of mine is my only link to sanity and I mean my ONLY one..................at this moment in time.  It's that or gone on medication lol
When we listed the house for sell - we did so knowing they don't go fast in this area - 2 of our neighbors have been listed for a year and 2 years respectively - so we figured we may as well list it if we wanted any chance at all of ( possibly, maybe ) selling it by Spring - but as you all know it sold in a week - leaving us 45 days to find a house ( of which it is still not a " done " deal - close - but not " done " yet ) and pack and organize everything that needs to be done )
Ok - random thought over.................

Here's the next step with the table :)

and here it is done

Except I DON'T LIKE IT - NOT ONE BIT LOL - I even sanded it all down and still didn't like it

And because I happened to be packing up the dining room - I had some charger plates just sitting there staring at me

I literally held the charger plate in place and painted all the perimeter in Pure White..................
( and then ran like crazy to wash it off the plate before it dried )

I'm not sure if I like it any better - but it's the teeniest little bit easier on the eye - and maybe it'll look good in my new ( wherever I end up ) all white living room

And then HE walks by......................

John says - Why did you paint an Easter Egg on the table?
OMG -
He's right!!!!!!!!!!
That's exactly what it looks like

And now you know I can't keep it like that, right?
I hope I don't develop an imaginary friend with all of this insanity

Have a wonderful Tuesday everyone -
For now I think I'd better stick with the task on hand and forget about painting furniture for a little bit lol
76 and counting
AND that's just the living room and dining room

Much love,

Dressing rooms ( and the Annie Sloan book winner !!!)

Contemporary Closet by Atlanta Interior Designers & Decorators Habachy Designs

Good morning all :)
How many of you have dressing rooms?
I've never had one in my life ( I've never even had a walk in closet - something I think all women should have just by right of passage really )
Nor have I ever lived anywhere where I could take a room and turn it into a dressing room - ( which one of my girlfriend's did - creating the prettiest little " boudoir " ) but if there's any good at all in being an empty nester ( and 3 years later it's the ONLY positive thing I can think of yet ) it's that I can now do that !!!

Is everyone sick of hearing about the   house  yet?

Do you remember this tiny room?

Well the wheels are turning people - so fast it's making my head spin -
Do you see what I see?  ( way up in the sky, little lamb )
My very own tiny dressing room perhaps?

I have 2 wardrobes that I could incorporate - ( IKEA ) which I DID NOT want to take with us - but the new people don't want them ( that tells you how ugly they are lol ) but I think they'd work perfectly in
a corner of a small room - and they hold a tun of stuff

I also have a vanity in storage just waiting to be redone - and the perfect little dresser -
It looks like I may have a boudoir of my very own - maybe I'll pick up a pair of slippers with kitten heels and pompoms and a feather boa to wrap myself in .......................You know, channelling my Eva Gabor type of thing ( dahlink I love you but give me Park Avenue )

And now, the moment everyone - the MOMENT !!!

Suzan says - John could you please pick a number from 1 to 77 ?
John says - Why ?
Suzan says - What does it matter?  Just pick a number please
John says - What do I win?
Suzan says - YOU don't win anything - it's for Annie Sloan's signed book - I have a giveaway for it, remember?
John says - WHY ARE YOU GIVING THAT AWAY?
Suzan says - It's a giveaway from Caroline and Annie and Me
John says - Do you know 9 times out of 10 when we speak it's about your blog???
Suzan says - John could you please pick a number from 1 to 77?
Suzan says - Never mind - I'll go on the computer and do it.........................
Suzan says - I've just packed another 9 boxes while you're watching t.v. - you could be a little more
accommodating you know

NINE - John yells out as I walk away.......................
Suzan says - YES - NINE BOXES -
John says - no, that's it - that's the number I'm picking
Suzan says - you couldn't even pick a number on your own?
John says - that WAS the number I was going to pick!
Suzan says - well that's certainly a coinkadink isn't it John?

But hey that's the number he chose.

And that would be TINA from WHAT WE KEEP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks everyone for participating - and just to let you know I have a couple of more giveaway's lined up
in the next 2 weeks :)

Have yourselves a wonderful Funday Monday !!!
Much love

Every time I move - every single time - I promise myself that next time I'll hire the movers to do the packing too - and I never do..................I think I'm at around 50 boxes and that's just the living room and dining room - THAT'S the problem with loving " things ".......................
