I WANNA live there # 39

I live in a pretty incredible area - in Montreal, It's an historical neighbourhood loaded with tons and tons of charm - and 20th century architecture, just steps away from the city center, it's also a pretty expensive neighbourhood ( in which I live in servants quarters basically compared to what I'm surrounded by )
Because there are days I don't have furniture makeovers to show you - I've chosen Wednesdays to showcase and feature one or two homes that are for sale around here.................( or apartment - or duplex - or teepee )
Keep in mind this is in the heart of the city - so the prices reflect that  - think Manhattan - where these places would cost 3 or 4 times what they're listed for here!
On occasion I'll showcase beautiful homes in other areas - countries - continents - the one thing most of them will have have in common will be their age - because I love old homes with stories to tell, join me won't you?

It's all about me again this week - because I found another listing that speaks - no sings to me!

Come take a peak - and let me know what you think - of course there's some work to do - but I can't tell you how much I love it!
Miss City Girl - and if I keep saying that till you're sick to death of hearing it - please understand that I keep saying it for a reason.............this is going to be such a major change in my life that it's overwhelming - these places I'm looking at now are in " down in the boondocks "

You ready?
LOVE LOVE LOVE this one

Paint the exterior in Cream or White and Black - some badly needed landscaping - lots of it - all around the perimeter and the walkway..................window boxes under all the windows

Here's how special it could look

Entrance way...................if I have to give up my Victorian Moldings - then I could live with wood ceilings!
Oh how welcoming I could make this space

Don't you love the floors?

French doors leading out to veranda?  Hello dream come true ( nipple light be gone )

The tiles have to go ( in my world ) and a big slab of marble would replace the wood on the island but I could live with everything else - very very easily - I might even start baking apple pies from scratch living here - instead of running up the street like I do now to the closest bakery ( because that's what you tend to do in the city, don't you know ) and if this kitchen doesn't scream apple pie baking in the oven - well then I don't know what does...................

That tile has to go ( oh - already said that )

It wouldn't take all that much work to make this kitchen

sort of look like this kitchen ( which would be my inspiration )
Where Meryl Streep called home in " It's Complicated "

Cute family room - but it could be a great office too!

I can't get enough of the french doors -

Let's go upstairs - ( what's with all these light fixtures ??? ) but OH what landing

I love how the bedrooms have windows on 2 separate walls...............

one of those bedrooms could be a beautiful walk in closet, right?

I have to go see this one - maybe this weekend - and after all these photos - John's heart is still on This one

But my heart has switched loyalties after seeing this ( in all fairness I know enough to know that photos can be very very deceiving - but I still HAVE to see it - it's exactly the type of house I envision myself in )

This " Village " has an upscale Flea Market every year - from May to October - called Finnegan's - where maybe I could have a booth for my furniture ..................

Here's the town hall - in winter

Here's a typical store on Main street ( aggghhhh it has a Main st - how adorable is that ? )

and it's walking distance to Sandy Beach

What does everyone think?
It's 45 minutes out of the city of Montreal ....................
I'm in love.
Again.

It scared me then.......................

I can still the feel the terror and sadness I felt watching Dorothy's world be swept away in a devastating tornado........................

Because it's pretty much the same way I feel today

I can't imagine such devastation in real life.
And though I know how little comfort it brings, in the immediate aftermath,  I also know there's a planet full of grief and love and prayers - much larger than any tornado could ever be - heading that way.

With sadness,
