I WANNA live there Wednesday ( on Friday )

.I live in a pretty incredible area - It's an historical neighbourhood loaded with tons and tons and tons of charm - and 20th century architecture, just steps away from the city center, it's also a pretty expensive neighbourhood ( in which I live in servants quarters basically compared to what I'm surrounded by.)

Because there's days I don't have furniture makeovers to show you - I've chosen Wednesdays to showcase and feature one home that's for sale around here.................(or apartment - or duplex - or teepee)

Good Morning everyone - Happy Friday -
Before I go on to my post - I just wanted to ask a quick question - what does everyone do with no reply blogger comments?  I end up going back to the post and actually replying that way but do you think anyone goes back to the post to see a reply or is it just silly for me to do it?  I feel so bad - really really bad, knowing that someone has taken the time to drop me a line - and I can't respond -
I actually used to go to everyone's blog - and thank them that way - but just don't have the time to do that anymore......................just wondering how everyone else deals with it :)

Ok - here we go folks............................1,295,000.00  A traditional cross hall plan

OMG - HOW'S THAT FOR A LITTLE CURB APPEAL EVERYONE?

THIS IS REALLY NOT A BAD PRICE RELATIVELY SPEAKING - I'VE SHOWN MUCH HIGHER PRICED ONES IN THIS AREA THAT WERE NOT NEARLY AS BIG - AND DOUBLE THE PRICE.  THIS LOOKS PALATIAL COMPARED TO SOME OF THEM - HAVING SAID THAT MY THINKING HAS BECOME WARPED WHEN I THINK THAT ANYTHING OVER A MILLION DOLLARS IS A STEAL, LOL

Wood lovers rejoice - you know I'd be painting it out, right?  But there's my to die for radiators again!

Gorgeous windows! They definitely look original - and are quite common around here!

I love that the room is irregularly shaped - and absolutely love the windows again!

the built in alcove for the buffet is pretty nice too ( formerly a fireplace ? )

time to go visit upstairs

gorgeous bay window - window seat anyone?

basement

basement

how big can a basement get?

because for some reason they only show one bedroom - and because I'm 2 days late with this post
I'm including a 2nd one this week.

here we go again - built in 1847

this property has 2 additional homes - all 3 are for sale for 3,275,000.00 - that's a smaller one to the left of that gorgeous outdoor table - I guess it a coach house back in the day?

unbelievable amount of property for the middle of the city

I could just STAIR at this photo forever ( pun intended lol )

Hey look everyone - what's sitting on the coffee table ? LOL - even multi millionaires leave their shoes in ridiculous places - OK John I guess it's a MAN thing after all - tee hee

I was hoping to see a very old fashioned kitchen..........................

Good God - I'm going to have to stop doing this series - leaves me feeling like I'm living in a completely inadequate home - Oh the things I could do with this " attic "

and the 3rd home I suppose -

that's it for today - strange no bedrooms anywhere to be seen - ( except for 1 in the first home )

have a wonderful weekend all - keep buying those lottery tickets - SOMEONE wins every week after all!!!

and here's a sneak peak of what I'll be working on

Cyber hugs to all

  1. Love the second one. Surprisingly bright. Whoever decided on the layout for the tile in the first kitchen wasn't having a good style day...and yes, I would paint all that dark wood. Love that dining room and office area.

  2. I don't care for the first house at all but the second one? From the architecture to the grounds to those wrap around porches. The only thing I didn't like was the kitchen. The attic! Have mercy!!

  3. I don't like the first house at all. I like the second one though.

  4. OMG! My little cottage could fit in that attic with space for another little little cottage. :) You commented on my blog that I was a no-reply blogger. What does that mean. I noticed that you questioned it at the beginning of your post here. Thanks for the info. I enacted comment moderation for a while because somehow ads are getting posted. Maybe I did something I am not aware of. Thanks. Donna

    1. I could most definitely fit my place in that attic too lol
I'm coming over - no reply blogger has nothing to do with comment moderation

  5. About 1/2 a second before I read that you may have to stop doing this series because of a feeling of house-inadequacy I had just thought 'I have to stop reading these posts due to complete & utter house envy'. (You KNOW I won't stop though.)

I love the first house. The kitchen.... maybe it looks better in person? I wouldn't paint the wood, couldn't bear to lift that first brush stroke. (However...the beautiful woodwork in my real-life 1901 bungalow was ALREADY PAINTED when I moved in, therefore alleviating any guilt on my part. It is important to note though that the value of my current home is a fraction of House #1 Masterpiece, even at the impressively low $1 mill.)

    1. LOL - I wonder if the people that actually live in these homes appreciate them as much as we ( the droolers ) do!!!

  8. Okay, so where is the second home(s)? I am assuming the first in Westmount or Outremont? That is a lot of property in the second case. So much fun to see inside these beauties...really is!

  9. "No Reply Bloggers" ~ that drives me as wild as the Word Verification thing! :/ I so want to respond when they've taken their time to stop and comment. I go back to their blog and search for an email addy and then use it. If one is not available, that's it...I'm done. Makes me sad many times. If it is a new blogger, I do mention it to them. Many don't know they have the no-reply or word verification.

The houses? I tend to go to the place of "my kitchen is like a small hallway" or it could fit in one of the closets or bathrooms. That's the area that I always covet when I see huge, spacious kitchens! 'Course my love for cooking & baking causes that. I do love many of the bathrooms too. I have, have to stay in gratitude for what I have and realize this is eye candy.

  10. Since I don't have a blog I often want to know what the reply is, especially if there is a question. So if there is no answer in the comments I feel frustrated. And, yes, I do check back to see if there is an answer.

  13. Thank yo so much for your encouraging words over at my blog today, Suzan--they are much appreciated! I can't wait to see your new projects--your teasers are certainly appealing. I could move into either of these beautiful homes, but I am smitten with that attic and the huge library and couch. And that one basement does indeed go on forever! Thank you for sharing them with us.

  14. Oh my goodness-what a beautiful place. Those woods floors are amazing!
I don't know what to do with no reply bloggers either---especially when they ask a question, and then I try to go to their blog and they don't have one! Educating people, like you are doing, is all you can do. I think a lot of blogggers/commenters don't know they are no reply. thanks for stopping by my blog--have a great day!

  16. Hi Suzan!
Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and following (I already follow you *winks*)
Wow both of the houses are gorgeous! And they would also both be very reasonably priced in my neck of the world as well.
I do think the tiles in kitchen 1 would drive me to distraction! There's no way I could bring myself to paint that woodwork, but the fireplace would have to change or be painted *winks* The attic in house 2 is TDF!! Vanna

Due to a large amount of spam ( that I'm tired of going back to posts and deleting ) I'll be using comment moderation from now on !!!
Can I beat these spammers at their own game? Probably not - but I'm going
to try my damnedest !!!
