TROLLING CRAIG'S LIST

I do that sometimes..............just to see what's out there and every now and then I come across something that's out of this world !
(If you type in what you're looking for - it shows things in your area AND close by -
Vermont is close to Montreal................)

Have you ever seen anything like this?

Anyone in Vermont interested?
What a gorgeous set for a garden !
HERE

And then maybe these could be picked up ( HERE )
and spray painted white to match !

and then while the spray paint was out - you could quickly " spraint " this as well

I've asked about the light fixture actually because I still need a couple of lights for the upstairs bedrooms - this would go perfectly in one of them.

Have a great day everyone -
Check out your local Craig's list !

Hugs,
Me

  1. Never ever seen garden furniture with high backs. So elegant! If TX were across the border, I think I'd be loading these into a truck and taking these babies home. I've a serious crush on this set!

  2. I spend enough money ~ I don't need Craig to help!!

But that IS a gorgeous set... I think it would look great in your back yard!

  4. I check out Craiglist frequently, especially since we're planning to move to our "Big Girl" house. We haven't been concerned with our furnishing since we have been renting for the last 10 years, but it's time to become more sophisticated! The last Craigslist I found was a real wood bookshelf. We made arrangements to get it. It was over 30 minutes away. We were to call when we got to their rental house. No bars on the cell phone, so we had to move the car to get connected. They knew where we lived. They knew it would take us time. They sold it out from under us. It would have been different if they had told us that they would sell it to the first person who gave them money — we would never have attempted it. We called them a choice word. In the future, we will be asking if they will hold it for us or if they will take the money from whoever shows up first. {Bad words, bad words, bad words} <---how my mom used to swear when we were kids.

There are some great used furniture places in Wilmington (about 10 miles north), but we don't know about the area where we will be moving. So, if we can get something delivered to our current home, the movers can get it to our new home, which is 26 miles south of where we now live. We don't have a truck, but I keep threatening to get one! (When we rented a $19.99 truck for an hour, it cost us about $55!)

So, I'll be trolling Craigslist some more...

  5. Wow! I NEVER find anything on Craig's list, if I do it's too expensive to redo for profit. This would be gorgeous in a garden with a chandelier hanging above it:)

    1. This was way too expensive Rhonda - but what a beauty !
I agree, it needs a chandelier above it !

  6. I checked - puppies, kittens, and moving boxes! Not one thing as beautiful as the dining set.

  7. I always find Craig's list overwhelming. Maybe I need to narrow my search.
Love those chairs! How pretty. And the candle stands are really nice - like the height of them. I hope you get the light fixture, it's really pretty!

    1. I know - it's something else !
Except it's 1300 US ( which makes it way too high Canadian ) completely out of my budget.
Wonder whether I could talk them down to - oh I don't know - 100.00 or so ? LMHO

  9. I swear I would build a sunroom just to put it in! Unreal, one of a kind. Looks like it should be in an estate in Florida. xo Patty

  10. That is a beautiful garden set, I haven't seen anything like it. Craigslist doesn't exist here :(

  12. I troll gumtree but I'm under strict instructions that not one more piece of furniture is to enter this house until I use or remove a few of the FIVE dining table or multiple desks and chairs lol

  13. Spraint! Bahaha! Lovely set....what a find!

  14. I did the tall candle holders, I would spray them gold and I would also spray the feet of the chairs and table gold to make it all tie in. This was a great find.

  15. I must admit, I never troll but if I lived anywhere near that piece I would be grabbing it in a heart beat.

  16. Oh wow, I wish I lived close to Vermont. I have been wanting an unusual garden set. This really fits the bill! I never get on Craigslist or ksl. What I don't see, I don't need. lol! Thanks for sharing with SYC.

  17. Holy heck, I wouldn't put that outside if it were mine! It would be my main dining table. That is so exquisite. I've never, ever bought anything off Craigslist, my husband is so freaked out by it LOL...he's convinced I'd run into the one mass murderer on there.

  18. Hi, Suzan!
OMG, woman, what are you doing to me waving that gorgeous set of the most gorgeous furniture I've seen in a lo-o-ong time, with me as way out WEST as can be without falling off of the USA in Orange County CA!! Even obsessive me can't find a way to manage getting that gorgeous piece of art, table and chairs back home! You guys back EAST have all the neat stuff. I do go on Craig's List and enter the piece of furniture I am looking for and ask for alerts to send me if the item comes up for sale, but I receive a list of new items that are just furniture in general and not the specific item I asked for. Oh, well, yes, I do enjoy trolling Craig's list. I have found items I want in the past, but they are sold by the time I inquire. My pocket book is relieved when that happens, but I still manage to empty it sooner or later. Seriously Suzan, you have me drooling with this set. It is just stunning! I may dream it tonight!
Happy trolling and you should get the chandy, you're an artist when it comes to spainting!

    1. LMHO Hazel !
That set is 1300 dollars - way out of my budget this year ( or I would have found a way to go pick it up !!! )
      BUT - I think it's worth every penny - it'll last another 100 years I'm sure !

    2. Suzan, Suzan, Suzan. It IS out of my budget but you don't see it stopping Lucy Ricardo, so why should it stop little ol' MOI, who is every bit a schemer as she ever was! She's my HERO, no wait, I'm her clone! It is just luscious, and before I saw it, thanks to TOI, I would have said, Covet? Me covet? Why no, I don't covet....but I'm pretty sure that what I'm doing is COVET-ing this GORGEOUS set that you have just brought into my life, even if it is just a picture!! Aye-Aye-Aye!, as Ricky Ricardo would say!
Love your blog, even if it makes me covet!

    3. I've been calling you Hazel and your name is Laura - WHY does it come up as Hazel LOL ???
Now I have to try to remember that !
Everyone says I'm Lucy so there's two of us out there !
      I'm coveting also.............badly LOL
If I picked it up I'd have some serious 'splainin' to do though !!!
You're the best - thanks so much :)
      XOXO

  19. Suzan, that's OK if you call me Hazel. I used Hazel because I think they asked me for a nickname when I signed up. I can't remember, but my beloved dog of 18 years had just passed and I really miss her so I used Hazel because that was her name. My name is Laura, though. You can call me anything, just don't call me late for dinner!
Anyway, yup, I usually have a lot of 'splaining to do to my husband just like Lucy! If I were to set my mind on getting this gorgeous set, price be damned, I'd have to enlist the help of Ethel, of course! Poor Ethel! So I'm glad we understand each other seeing as how we both have lotsa 'splaining to do! Love talking with you and I love your blog. I read everyone of them, and I admire your creativity, energy, and wit! You're GREAT!

  20. You gave me an idea - I just told hubby I want new dining room chairs (I really want a table, too, but I have to break it to him gently, in steps, lol). I never thought to look on Craig's list! So I will, but they'd have to be "ready to use!" Thanks for linking up at Best of the Weekend!
