Good morning everyone !
Hope your Christmas was as wonderful as ours................despite the fact that I prayed for snow and it didn't happen it was a glorious holiday !
I've been feeling a little under the weather and yesterday it escalated into a full blown cold - runny nose - leaking eyes - earache - fever - the works.
Still......................I waited in anticipation when the weather news said to expect a " dump ".
I put my rain boots on - threw on my coat and ran outside - like a kid !
A few days too late but it's here none the less -
THIS is how it was supposed to look on the 24th - but I'll take it now.
John says - WHAT are you doing outside - you're sick as a dog !
Suzan says - The snow ! Look at the snow ! I almost want to make a snow angel
John says - Get back in the bloody house ! Do you want to become a real angel ???
No...............not really.
Suzan says - Please tell me you've made a snow angel at least once in your life?
John says - Not likely
Suzan says - Do it now !!! It's fun ! I'll snap a photo for the blog !
But he came dangerously close to whacking my legs with the shovel
So I ran back in the house
Made a tea
and sat down to record our conversation................
( on my new notebook that one of my daughter's had personalized for me ! No more jumping up and looking for scrap pieces of paper when they happen )
Probably the last recorded one for this year.............
We were supposed to go to a movie tonight ...............
But I feel lousy - and the roads are icy
So..............since we've nowhere to go
Let it snow
Let it snow
Let it snow...................
Have a wonderful day everyone.................
I'm going to crawl back into my bed now - get under the covers and try to sleep this thing away - now where'd I put the Drixoral?
Hugs,
Me

We were in Kauai for Christmas and played tennis one day next to a Canadian couple. They were from Vancouver and said they don't get much snow, but that their family in Quebec had not had snow. I thought of you and was sad that you weren't having a white Christmas. I am glad it has arrived.
ReplyDeleteSuzan, so glad you got your snow. We're at middle daughters near Chicago and we must've got the same snow dump you did. It's beautiful and thick. Hope your daughter ordered you more than one notebook...I think you will probably need a ton of them next year for John's Jems.
ReplyDeleteUgh....feel better Suzan. Love your new notebook! Your snow looks so pretty....THERE, not here, lol! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteWow, the red just pops against that snow! Your new house is looking fab Suzan! Happy New Year!!! xox
ReplyDeleteSuzan, I love the notebook!! Tell that John to go out and make a snow angel, for Pete's sake. It's something everyone has to do in life at some point! Wow, you sure got the snow. Get well soon, and I hope the two of you have a wonderful 2016.
ReplyDeletePS and your photos are charming!!! xxoo
ReplyDeleteWe received our Christmas snow on the 28th, too - it sure made things look pretty and definitely more holiday-like! Happy new year to you and John. Thanks for always giving out a smile on your wonderful blog. Jane
ReplyDeleteOh man! I hate colds. Hugs to you and wishes for a speedy recovery. Your daughter had a great idea for your notebook. That thing will be priceless to her one day. Glad you got your snow....because the only way I'm going to see snow is through yours and other's pictures. Feel better!
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon and Happy New year to you and John.
ReplyDeleteThe snow is beautiful!
xo Pat
So sorry you are sick, but I do love the photos you've captured. Your house should be on a Christmas card. Hope you are not a "real angel" for many, many years! Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteSo great you got some snow. Sorry you are not feeling well. Under the covers is the best place to be. Love your sweet notebook to write your John says Suzan says.... Perfect! Happy New Year my friend.
ReplyDeleteKris
ReplyDeleteThankfully the cold held off till AFTER your holiday!
John thinks you'll be an angel ~ how sweet! ;)
I'm healing well ~ stitches came out Monday; so far so good.
Be gentle with yourself ~
Hugs ~
Just Beautiful ! Join the sick club! Down for the count since Christmas Eve with a horrible sinus infection! On antibiotics! Starting to turn the corner now ! Christmas hasn't come yet on the farm! Waiting to open gifts ! Probably New Years Day! Good Grief!!! Oh well ! Always next year! Ha! Get better soon! The house looks fantastic! We have had snow here since Christmas Eve! Still frozen! Take care! Hot Toddy Time! Happy New Year, your friend ,Cindy
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Cindy - so sorry to read you were sick too ( I only got sick AFTER Christmas thankfully )
DeleteHow awful for you !
XOXO
Feel better soon! :)
ReplyDeleteSorry you weren't feeling well, but the story is funny. I hope you are getting better now. We have had one snow. It snowed really hard for one hour in November. Then in one hour it was gone. We walked out of church and it was magical. Hubby wanted to know if I wanted him to get the car and pick me up. I said, "No, I want to walk in it." Happy New Year and feel better.
ReplyDeleteI thought of you when I heard it had snowed there. I even thought about calling you and then I remembered that "she doesn't even know me. and I have no idea what her number is." haha Just shows what a wonderful job you've done of making us feel like family.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing your snowy décor! And that notebook is lovely. The last pic is too cute. :D
Feel better real soon!!!
Beautiful snow pictures.
ReplyDeleteyou got snow and we had heavy rain, severe storms as well as tornadoes. I think I would had much rather had the snow.
That is an awesome notebook! Very festive photos too. Looking forward to more John Says Suzan Says in 2016. In the meantime, take care of that cold. Wishing you both a Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteIsn't that the cutest idea - the notebook ??? A very Happy New Year to you and yours too Marie !
DeleteXOXO
Please tell John that you are already an angel!!
ReplyDeleteI adore your new notebook - that was an amazing and thoughtful gift!
And I'm also drooling over your lantern in the bicycle - how cute is that? I just ordered a new lantern for my garden cottage - is that a special LED candle for outdoors or are they all ok for outdoor use? Just curious....it looks so charming! It's exactly what I wanted to put outside my garden cottage!
By the way, your house looks like a Christmas card. Gorgeous.
Feel better and happy New Year -
Debbie
Hahaha. Do you realize how much you pack into one blog post? A beautiful house in the snow, a "John says, Suzan says", a funny image of John making angels in the snow and for real, a wonderful winter song and your health report. You are so amazingly funny, my friend. Stay home, cuddle with John watch a good movie and feel better. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI love your house in the snow. You ould use that piture for a Christmas card. Red door is perfect!! I also love the hanging spheres.
ReplyDeleteYo!!! Snow Woman!!! Enjoy it any way you can!!! :)))) I send you tons of love, hugs, healthy vibes and giddy good feelings. :) Enjoy the snow for me. Love seeing photos of it. :) xoxo Christina
ReplyDeleteI do hope you're on the mend soon, Suzan. I'm so sorry that you're sick. It's no fun anytime but during the holidays it should not be allowed. The snow looks awesome...I'd also be tempted to run around outside with the flu. I hope John takes good care of you. If you become an angel, he'll have to answer to us !!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos and since we have no snow where I live, I am glad to see winter is finally arriving in all the places where it belongs. Sitting at home all warm & cozy in front of the fireplace beats going to the movies anytime in my book. Hard to believe your John says he has never made a snow angel. Unless he grew up someplace devoid of snow (like Florida or a hellishly hot dessert), I suspect he is mentally blocking it out. Frail male ego & all testosterone driven stuff can apparently make a grown man deny almost anything they don't consider manly. This unmanly behavior apparently includes the unforgettable & heavenly experience of creating a snow angel. Even if he your John was a very young boy the last time he made a glorious snow angel, I don't think there is any way you could forget the happiness that comes with letting yourself free-fall backward into a fluffy thick layer of pristine snow & then wildly wave your arms back and forth in the wide arcs needed to create a pair of wings that any angel would love have. I can see (barely) why your John might want to convince himself that he has never engaged in something as silly as making a snow angel, but I'm really not buyin' it. Personally, if I were to see a grown man joyfully making a snow angel, I think I would find that quite sexy & romantic - just saying. Get plenty of rest Susan & hold off on your urge to make a snow angel. There will be plenty of time for such craziness. Winter is barely a week old yet, so there'll be more opportunities for you to teach John how to make a proper snow angel - even if you have to drag him kicking & screaming out into the snow to do it. Get some rest & hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteYou have no idea how much you've made me want to go make a snow angel now Ellen LMHO !!!
DeleteAnd John's from Yorkshire - they never got much snow - he never ice skated as a child either !
Whatever I've " caught " is terrible - I feel worse every day and I'm up most of the night coughing - sneezing - blowing my nose................even my eyes hurt ! Thank GOD I didn't have this on Christmas!
Hope you have a wonderful New Year !!!
xoxo
Everything looks magical - love all your decoration and the snow.
ReplyDeleteTake care of your self and stay in doors.
Happy New Year.
Hugs,
Mary
Glad you got snow...Ohio always gets snow for Christmas, but not this year. We have warmer weather...it feels more like Fall then Winter here!! 😢 Hope you feel better real soon.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Cindy
YAAAAAAAAYYYYY!!!!! It's here TOOOOOOO!!!!! YAY! I love winter and snow and being Canadian in Canada <3
ReplyDeleteHi Suzan! I'm so sorry to hear you're sick! Hope you're better very soon! I have a hard time thinking of you, the queen of BUSY, laying in bed---you really must be sick! I'm so happy that you had a great Christmas! I'll bet that Evan made Christmas even better--the little cutie!!
ReplyDeleteYour house looks so pretty in the snow and so cozy inside! You did a great job of decorating it! I love everything about it! The shutters and the red ribbon and the wreathes and decorated window boxes, not to mention the front entrance decorations are just amazing! You outdid yourself!!
I hope you get better soon!
Hugs,
Laura/Hazel
The Queen of busy has done nothing but lay in bed for 3 days now - and every day I feel worse - this is a doozy let me tell you!
DeleteThanks so much Laura - I waited for that snow like you wouldn't believe LOL !
Happy New Year to you and yours - now I'm going back to bed - I have to reply to emails in stages because even my eyes are sore LOL
XOXO
How do you like your red door now? : ) Everything looks beautiful. I hope you better soon!
ReplyDeleteI kind of like it LOL !!!
DeleteThanks so much - hope you have a great New Year!
I'm still sick - like really really sick - it's hit me like a ton of bricks :(
XOXO
Feel better....I'm sure you will with all the good wishes that your snowfall is bringing you. It's quite beautiful. We have rain in Virginia, but all good, not floods, so I'm thankful for that. Stay cozy and Happy New Year!! to John and your family.
ReplyDeleteHope by now you are feeling much, much better. Thanks for taking us along on your romp outside! All your Christmas decorating really stands out against the backdrop of the snow. Love your new journal--what a thoughtful daughter you have. Now your readers will never miss any thing John says! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you too. Our snow came three days ago although like you, I would have preferred it to have been white during the Christmas season. I'm still happy we got it though. In the area where I live, Upper MI next to Lake MI it's a beautiful community and the snow looks so beautiful no matter when it falls. Your conversation with your hubby is hilarious! Great idea to write them down! Have a blessed New Year! -Bev
ReplyDeleteDoesn't your home look adorable in the snow. Great pictures...and have fun! Sandi
ReplyDeleteA beautiful white Christmas! Hope you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
Blessings,
Cindy
Beautiful. I love snow...we still do not have all that much here in Cameron, Wisconsin. ;-(
ReplyDeleteSend some of that snow my way. :-))
I love the notebook!! What a fun idea.
Happy New Year!
Carla
That notebook is the best present for you! I guess winter is finally arriving: you have snow and we're experiencing our first wind storm of the year!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas and Happy New Year my friend to you and John and your family. Your house looks gorgeous, I love the wreaths in the windows. I moved Dec 18, so I was kind of glad we did not have snow. We have some now though, and getting lots of it today. I am not a big fan of snow and would trade it for a sandy beach any day. hope life is good for you, hugs Tobey and Maggie
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Suzan! The snow looks so beautiful... I'm really jealous! That is the one thing I really miss living out here on the coast. Get better soon, I know you'll be wanting to spend time with your sweet grandbaby!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Mary !
DeleteThanks so much - I feel better but not completely myself - this was one terrible bout !!!
XOXO
Sounds more like you have a roaring case of the flu rather than just a plain old cold. Nevertheless, glad you are enjoying snowlife. Your bicycle pics are amusingly lovely.
ReplyDeleteIt WAS a roaring case of the flu - and it was awful - just awful - still don't feel 100 % although I do feel much better !
DeleteThanks so much
XOXO
Hey, we had hail today. That's close to snow, right?
