Suzan says - I've been thinking of painting the arm chair in the living room
John says - You mean the legs? That's the only wood on it
Suzan says - No, the entire chair actually
John says - OVER MY DEAD BODY...............YOU ARE NOT TOUCHING THE LIVING ROOM FURNITURE - THIS IS TOO MUCH - DO YOU HEAR ME - THIS IS JUST TOO DAMN MUCH NOW...........
We're on our way to Caroline's today................and I've been dying to see this beauty in person.

Love the way you hid from the camera there Suzan! That was a really helpful post. I have a couch I'm thinking of painting.
ReplyDeleteWho woulda thought you could paint that fabric? Very nice!
ReplyDeleteI haven't painted fabric yet, but I've painted the linoleum in my bathroom, and my shower surround, and and and...
ReplyDeleteYou look 17-years old in her photo of you working on it.
This is crazy cool. I am jumping over there now.

I feel their painting pain...I did two chairs but still have to wax them. I didn't water the paint down because I used Old White or a darkish pattern. Still trying to decide on what color I want to paint the wood! I'm stuck.
ReplyDeleteThe couch is to die for and so is the shop!
I just saw this and still can't believe it, I am amazed!
ReplyDeleteCynthia
Fantastic. I love it. Didn`t know that it was possible to paint fabric. Interesting.

Crazy - I was just talking with a fellow painter about painting fabric - she has a funky mid-century chair and we thought it would look awesome in Barcelona. I've sent her over to check out this sofa project - it looks awesome!!
ReplyDeleteHi Heather - there's going to be some wild conversations going on in this house - because I'm definitely painting an arm chair I have LMHO.................

You painted the fabric on a couch??? I have never heard of such a thing. What kind of paint would you use? Certainly 'couch paint' does not exist :)
ReplyDeleteDoes your husband like it? Did it turn out the way you expected?
LOL - it's Annie Sloan Chalk Paint - the miracle paint !!!
DeleteIt wasn't mine - a friend of mind did it - I'm going to do a chair next week

I hopped over and took a look... wow! It's beautiful! I've actually had painting fabric furniture pinned on one of my Pinterest boards for quite awhile not but haven't tried it yet!

Wowsers! The couch looks amazing. Does it feel stiff? I have an old pink velvet wingback chair up in my garage that may be in need of some chalk paint. Thanks for sharing this Suzan. Blessings, Patti
ReplyDeleteP.S. I didn't see you there. We must have just missed each other :(
I checked the sofa and it's gorgeous. I wonder how does it feel when you sit in it?
ReplyDeleteComing over I want to paint leather any ideas??
