I am thrilled to be guest posting today for Suzan! I absolutely love her work. My name is Deneen and my blog is Dreamingincolor. Suzan and I have a lot in common. I am not from Canada (but would love to go there) I am not as funny or witty as she, but I do like to paint a lot of furniture. I would love for you to visit my blog and see for yourself!
Hope you enjoy this piece I found!
This is my first piece of furniture I have done in a two-toned look. Leaving some wood and some painted.
I just love having the best of both worlds.
And look at those details!!
Last week I had the opportunity to go to Haven. I met some wonderful people and came home with lots of goodies and prizes. One of them being a gift pack of Chalk Paint ® decorative Paint by Annie Sloan.
I won a quart of Coco, clear wax and fabric. Yippee! Right up my alley!
I purchased this vanity a couple of weeks ago. The sell petty good and I have made a few!
It was in great shape and loved all the details. So when I came home with my paint gift I knew this is what I was going to use it on.
Then something happened.....
I couldn't do it.
It is kinda like the story of the time I went fishing when I was a little girl with my dad. I caught a huge catfish. No, really,.... it was huge.
My dad had to help me get it in and it was a struggle. He was so proud of me. He kept saying "Look how big he is!" Then it happened.
I couldn't do it.
I cried and made him throw it back in the water.
I know....not good. Poor Dad. He couldn't believe it!
Thank God he wasn't what we were depending on for dinner!
Anyway.....
When I saw the beautiful wood on the dresser drawers I couldn't paint it. I mean really look at the details.
Call it the fish that got away.
That is how this sucker became two-toned!
Now it sits for sale at Simply Southern Marketplace on the square in Murfeesboro, Tennessee.
I love a good fish story!
Isn't that amazing?
Deneen, thanks so much for coming up with this idea - I loved it!!!
Have a wonderful weekend all !!!
