If Polly Pickwick Paints a Patch of Pretty Pumpkins
Where's the patch of pretty pumpkins Polly Pickwick paints???
Why they're here of course................
and here - with a little glitzy xmas decoration for candles
John says - WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING NOW???
Suzan says - Painting pumpkins
John says - You're painting food now?????
Suzan says - The orange doesn't go with the house at all John - c'mon - use your head
John says - You're painting food now???
Suzan says - They're only pumpkins - I wasn't going to serve them to you for dinner
John says - Ridiculous - just ridiculous...............painting pumpkins..............
John says - They looked really nice in their natural state
Suzan says - But they look nicer now!!!
John says - Are you going to paint the cranberries you bought?
Suzan says - Why would I ever do that?
John says - To match the pumpkins of course - cranberries don't go with anything either
Suzan says - And you say I'm ridiculous???
Suzan says - mmmm - unless I spray paint them - you may have an idea there John
John says - I'm buying a lock for the fridge -
And he grabs an apple and goes running down the hallway -
John says - Quick Soda - grab your biscuit - Mama's in a painting frenzy again......................
AND Soda actually goes running down the hall with him LMHOROTF !!!
And while he was laying down in bed munching his apple ( Soda did NOT have a biscuit )
I started decorating these Pretty Pumpkins..................
John walks by with his apple core
John says - Here you go
Suzan ignores him
John says - I saved half an apple for you to paint
Suzan ignores him
John says - Putting some jewellery on your pumpkins now are we?
Suzan ignores him
John says - I'm not trying to be funny - actually I like it - I think more people should put jewellery on their food -
John says - Is that the Queen Pumpkin by any chance?
and he roars as he walks away
John yells out - Should I put earrings on your steak tomorrow night?
I thought of flinging a pretty painted pumpkin in his general direction for a moment.
and then I decided to put words ( yup - words again ) on the bigger one - but I waited until John was in bed before I did it -
and here they sit on the dining room table
and this one rests on some books in the living room
Oh I almost forgot - 2 little ones were treated to some glitter spray and sit on candle holders - too bad you can't see the glitter lol
Now I would show you my fall decorating for the kitchen - but REALLY the colors are all wrong for this post - really they are - lots of reds.................
POLLY PICKWICK PAINTS A PATCH OF PRETTY PUMPKINS - say that 3 times really quickly please!!!
I used ASCP - Pure White - very little was needed !
Supplies were all from Michael's - ( and since this is not a sponsored post I feel they owe me big time - I mean like HUGE - )
Pumpkins were all from Atwater Market ( and they owe me too because I bought a ton of flowers there for the open house )

I think they are gorgeous! Don't listen to him! I was actually thinking that I might paint apples to look like mini pumpkins! LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteI love them, Suzan. Even if SOME people think you are crazy! After all, who paints pumpkins, right? lol You might want to tell John that I have sugar coated cranberries in the past and they LOOK like they are painted. I think they are quite dazzling all bejeweled and beautified. xo Diana;
ReplyDeleteDear Suzan. I was laughing with myself when I read your post,(still do). You and John are so perfect together. I can see him putting a lock on the fridge in case you should paint the steak. Lol. This made my day my friend.
ReplyDeleteBig hug from me
Oh, just forgot to tell you that the pumpkins are gorgeous. Love them white and with the jewellery too.
ReplyDeleteOh Suzan, you and John are so funny. I love the pumpkins - they are so pretty, especially with jewels on them.
ReplyDeleteHow did the open house go?
hugs Mary
Suzan, your pumpkins exhibit your signature style of quiet white adorned with just a dab of glitz. Tell John that if passersby saw a row of pumpkins in a window display of a design boutique, they would AUTOMATICALLY, without a single second of hesitation, be able to point yours out!

I LOVE painted pumpkins Susan!!
ReplyDeleteThat man obviously has no sense of style. I love these. A painted apple core.....hmmmmm!!
ReplyDeletexo Laura
Your pumpkins are gorgeous Suzan! John might not get it, but he is quite hilarious.
ReplyDeleteI love white pumpkins! And I love that you painted yours! Perfect! And the bling! So you! I want to see the kitchen!
ReplyDeleteI TOLD you!!! LMBO!! That John...I tell ya....he keeps things lively shall we say? The pumpkins are absolutely gorgeous, jewellery and all! BEAUTIFUL! Blessings today.
ReplyDeleteWell, I think they're gorgeous! And I bet it adds beauty to the staging of your home. My husband wouldn't get it either, but at least they entertain us, don't they?
ReplyDeleteSuzan they look gorgeous... I love them! : )
ReplyDeleteHa Ha Ha LOL!!!! Love the pumpkins.
ReplyDeleteKris
I love your bejewelled pumpkins. Sweet. When John suggested earrings on your steak you should have added 'diamonds please'. :)
ReplyDeleteSuzan, so funny. I was painting pumpkins earlier this week and my hubby was questioning the sanity of it also - especially since I painted mine black and white to go with what I was doing.... I also painted some blue ones which he questioned - my youngest granddaughter thinks they are grand... The guys just don't get it...lol... love yours and especially with the glitz and jewels... Cathy
ReplyDeleteWell you knew I was going to love this post! I love your white pumpkins! (Dare I tell you that I just bought a bunch of naturally white pumpkins??!!!) So...why do you have 3 pairs of the same black and sparkly earrings???!!!...that is my favorite one by the way!
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Suzan! I'm waiting for that apple core. :-)) it's all so pretty!! and I loved the alliteration. :-)
ReplyDeletethey are beautiful and the ones with words are my very very favorite, I don't care what john says he obviously has not got your sense of style after all he is just a man,
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful! And so much prettier than orange!!
ReplyDeleteA painted half apple can be considered moody concept art, and perhaps sold for millions. You should try.
ReplyDeletefunny stuff Suzanne hope your steak doesn't have earrings today lol
ReplyDeleteEasy for you to say.
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!! And I love the bling.
Tell John that Painting Pumpkins is better than Smashing Pumpkins. Maybe. :)

Those are adorable. I love the glitz and bling, and the words are perfect.
ReplyDeleteThose are adorable. I love the glitz and bling, and the words are perfect.
ReplyDeleteHow creative! I love the words and glitter and jewels on them!
ReplyDeleteHi Suzan,
ReplyDeleteI just love your white and decorated pumpkins. I think everything looks better with a little bling! Your hubby reacted just how mine would. They don't understand how badly orange really clashes with our decor! Thank you for visiting me. You have inspired me to paint some pumpkins! Thanks for making me smile today! Have a wonderful week!
Karen
hahaha...you are too funny!
ReplyDeleteDebbi

I would have painted that half apple! hahaha You two crack me up...especially when I hear him in his British accent.
ReplyDeleteYour pumpkins would be the envy of the Queen! Cinderella, too!
Great post Suzan, as always, thoroughly entertained. I can really picture John saying these things to you. My John knows better. I mean that in a kind way even though I sound a little bratty. Next year when I am decorating for fall in the new house I have plans to paint a lot of items, LOL!!
ReplyDeleteCynthia
cute cute ..fun fun(:)
ReplyDeletelove the jewelry on them too!!!
Thanks SO much !!!
DeleteXOXO
Rolling with laughter. I am assuming that the pumpkins are all GIRLS and what girl doesn't need a little bling???? You might want to reconsider painting that apple core - who knows what trend you might start.... You are the only sane one in your family (lol).
ReplyDeleteWish I had a camera and could blog. I came up with a pattern for pumpkins and put them in my booth in early August. Have sold the heck out of them. Wish I could share, but I'm dumb to blog land and as I said, have no camera and wouldn't know how to download anyway. I kinda feel bad that so many of you share and I don't.
Started working on stockings yesterday (my own pattern of course). First one was a dud but today might be real progress. Those who buy our wares have no idea how much time goes into creating. Again, wish I could share. Keep dancing Suzan.
Can't you just take one itty bitty photo and send it to me LOL ???
DeleteYou keep dancing too honey !!!
XOXO
OMG, pumpkin Queens! Love the jewelry and the Crown...too adorable Suzan! Thanks for your visit.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
FABBY
Thanks for the laugh, I sure needed that! Oh, and the pumpkins are beautiful, probably the fanciest I've ever seen!
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting Holly !!!
DeleteMine are plain compared to some I've seen, really !!!
XOXO
At first I didn't see the REAP, and I was wondering why you had a pumpkin that said sow, as in pig. I get it now, and may I just say for the record you have some nice pumpkins.
ReplyDeleteThat was hilarious! Have you considered stand-up? Really, being divorced definitely has its perks. There is NO ONE to ask me why I'm doing something. And no more loud ball games to have to listen to!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
Lock on the fridge!!! He ( and you too,of course!)is SO funny!!
ReplyDeleteYour pumpkins are beautiful, jewelries are really nice touch, please tell John that I said you have a great taste, even though, you are NOT eating the pumpkins!! lol
You didn't take him up on painting the half an apple? I think I might have and presented it back to him as a present. I think they're pretty. Husbands.
ReplyDeleteHe walked by them this morning - saw the words - and said " so they speak too? "
DeleteLMHO -

Wait til I tell my sister you used Annie Sloan paint on your pumpkins. She is so going to want to do it also. She has bought so much of her paint and loves it. Best wishes, Linda

ReplyDeleteoh my gosh, say that 10 times fast, lol. love the idea with the jewels!
ReplyDeleteSuzan, everything you do has such a unique touch. I love these pumpkins and their bling! Cinderella's pumpkin turned into a coach; yours have turned into, well, very beautifully dressed pumpkins!

I have been trying to get my John to bring my halloween decorations up from the basement so I can start decorating---I can't go up and down stairs except on my bottom---but I gave him the weekend. So I will ask him first thing in the morning to bring them up. I am starting some halloween art stuff with my weekly group of kids tomorrow......very colorful
