I live in a pretty incredible area - in Montreal, It's an historical neighbourhood loaded with tons and tons of charm - and 20th century architecture, just steps away from the city center, it's also a pretty expensive neighbourhood ( in which I live in servants quarters basically compared to what I'm surrounded by )
Because there are days I don't have furniture makeovers to show you - I've chosen Wednesdays to showcase and feature one or two homes that are for sale around here.................( or apartment - or duplex - or teepee )Keep in mind this is in the heart of the city - so the prices reflect that - think Manhattan - where these places would cost 3 or 4 times what they're listed for here!
On occasion I'll showcase beautiful homes in other areas - countries - continents - the one thing most of them will have have in common will be their age - because I love old homes with stories to tell, join me won't you?

They're very nice, but where would I put my table saw?
ReplyDeleteLove the first one especially, and the Greek key floor goes well with the Spartan look in decorating, I'd say. The second one is out for me. don't like a black kitchen or the black and white tile. Love the balcony of the third one. So glad you're going with under a million now, for I can plan to buy one for my summer home. lol
ReplyDeleteHmmmm.......of the 3 I'd opt for the 2nd one. I was going to say I loved this and this and this (character/architectural details) but there are too many to list! The first one seemed bland and even tho the 3rd one had great character the bathrooms were squishy and there didn't seem to be space to steal to enlarge them. I did think an old antique dresser in a bedroom with a vessel sink might work. What can I say - I like being different. Thank you for the tour :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the apartment oh how charming with the old vintage fireplace mantel. I love the character of that one too. Love all the architectural details so much personality. Thanks for sharing.

I believe that this confirms what I've always thought: I'm a true under-a-million girl.
ReplyDeleteJust found you, love your beautiful blog. I would love for you to link up at my party and visit my blog at http://www.memoriesbythemile.com/

I think the last one is my favourite, though I'm not sure I really want to live in Canada anymore, given your last email...
ReplyDeleteLove this place, the kitchen is great and I love the fireplace mantel too. Hope you are having a great week.

Hi Suzan!!!
ReplyDeleteLove your choices!!!
If I could pick one, it would be the Upper Duplex. My goodness, you get a very spacious living area. Every room is great. It's hard to pick my fav, but, I do love that Kitchen!! The bedrooms were big and then you also have an office. You would never tell all this was in that top floor!!
Remember...Take time for yourself!!

I know this isn't about decor, BUT I love the mid-century decor of the first home.
ReplyDeleteSo do I Heather - and I'm not even a fan of mid - century !!!

Like Heather said, I know this isn't about what's inside the homes (which are beyond lovely, by the way) but is that an old sewing machine complete w/pedal that they're using for their TV in the top home?? I think it is, and if so, I love love love that!!! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Wednesday. :)
Redfern- is the place where I staged a home for HGTV. The Property shop. You can view it on my blog. Beautiful building!!!
ReplyDeleteIt would be hard to choose, but I think I would have to go for the last one because of the beautiful windows throughout and the kitchen. Can I move in this weekend?
