They called for snow starting last night - I just woke up and ran to the window as soon as I opened my eyes
THERE'S NO SNOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well not yet anyway - we're mid April - can't believe I'm having this conversation.
An update on my week .............
Found myself finished at April's - so while she was out I redid her mantel....................
Who do I think I am? I mean really - I was only there to paint her furniture - it's none of my business to go around her home and change things up LMHO......................
The chairs aren't done yet ( the fabric hasn't arrived ) but so far the room has gone from this
to this - love love love her chandelier................
I'm almost finished this lady
and her twin daughters
New Craigs List find - we picked it up last night ( from an I WANNA live there Wednesday kind of house ) wish I'd brought my camera
Can you imagine going to pick up a piece of furniture - and saying to the person - " If you don't mind - I'm just going to do a quick walk through and take some photos ? " LMHO
anyway - I can lift furniture - I'm pretty strong - but this baby? Uh Uh - no way - we had to call my son to
come help...............it was in the cellar - with a narrow staircase - and then - because the house is on a hill - there's another outside stair case or 2 till you actually get to the parking landing - .solid - antique - gorgeous piece - just waiting for my paintbrush!
She also has an antique brass doll's bed - we'll see if I end up with it - but it's pretty spectacular.
I finally changed this - which sat around forever
to this ( and it was gone in 2 days ) I'm doing a post next week on the Power of Grey in my world..........
and that's why I haven't had time to show the technique to do this
but I HAVEN'T forgotten.................
it WILL come.
A table set got " tweaked " as well - it's being picked up tonight.
IF we don't get a blizzard.
In the middle of April.
And that's sort of how my week went -
Have a great Friday all!
Much love,

ReplyDeleteWow you had a busy week! I love the white dining room chairs.
ReplyDeleteOh that looks beautiful, if you ever find yourself down my way feel free to rearrange anything you want, in fact build me a mantle I've always wanted one :)
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, Suzan! You have been crazy busy but oh what beauties! I am seriously in love with all those pieces and I love the grey on that chest. I really, really want to come paint with you and learn at your feet! And you can rearrange anything in my house whenever. Just come on down to Texas and enjoy some warm Spring weather while you're at it. ;)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Cecilia
And of course everything looks just fabulous. That's funny you redid the mantle, and I bet she loved it. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend to you.
Seriously girl what brand of COFFEE do you drink? I mean you could audition for the EVERREADY battery commercial.... you beat the bunny. ABSOLUTELY LOVE your painting and look forward to the new technique. I am so inspired by your work (play).
ReplyDeleteHaha. love the previous comment. lol Anyway, don't come and rearrange my mantel or you'll get dust all over yourself. :-) I'm always so amazed at your transformation of furniture that previously looked ugly. You have magic, Suzan!
ReplyDeleteSuzan it is all so lovely. I think April will love the mantel. I love seeing your furniture transformations.
ReplyDeleteKris
Oh, I hope you don't get a blizzard. Love all of your furniture redos. Wish I could still lift :)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Laura
You can come over to my house whenever and take as my photos as you want. "Here's one of the junk mail on the dining room table." "Here's one of the 65 cans of paint waiting to be hauled back down to 'mini-Sherwin-Williams'"(that's a name of a section of my basement). If the people in that house don't read your blog yet, they should, and then they'll understand and get on board with the photo sharing. And be honored to do it.
ReplyDelete(I think Bliss got all the snow and you & I may be off the hook....)
You have been busy Suzan! I'm sure April will love your mantle, and I love the details on that chest! Amazing!! We woke up to an ice covered world this morning, and I posted some pics. Glad it missed you!! They're saying it's going to be 15 degrees here on Monday. Ha!!! I'll believe it when I see it!!!
ReplyDeleteWe're getting the snow right now, and I'm 4 hours west of you, and it usually moves east so look out. You need a nickname with "Grey" in it because you do such a good job with the grey paint makeovers... Grey Queen?
ReplyDeleteWhat fantastic projects! I love the grays and creams-so pretty.
ReplyDeleteHope you can have a restfilled weekend now.
I hope you have a restful, wonderful weekend to wipe away a stressful week! It doesn't snow here, but when we get under 50.....we wimp out! So there has been a lot of complaining from my students. TGIF!
ReplyDeleteall gorgeous pieces! i love the gray and white dresser!
ReplyDeleteWow you rock at this girly, great job!!! I love seeing makeover transforamtions I could look at them all day!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend

Busy week Suzan. Things look great there and you really seem to be having fun doing them. And that dresser... I'd call my boys to come get it too...even in Canada! Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteCindy
p.s. It's a very chilly, breezy 45F here in West Lafayette, IN today. Burrr. Only the dog wanted to go for a walk. I had to make myself do it.
Well even the dog didn't want to walk here LOL - the snow finally came :(
DeleteIt's nuts!
Thanks so much for your kind words,
Hugs,
Suzan
Love all the furniture, spotted a piece I would love to have, so sad we are so far away. I know what you mean about the weather, I live in the Deep South and it is cold here. Maybe this will be the last cold snap. Have a great weekend! Hugs, Lynn
ReplyDeleteyou did a wonderful job...as usual!! what a great transformation
ReplyDeleteAs usual it all looks beautiful! I love the inside with the grey and the little stencil so cute! So glad you spell grey correctly too!

Everything looks fantastic!! I want that bedroom furniture more and more when I see it, it is so lovely. Can't wait to see those chairs either with the fabric that was ordered.
ReplyDeleteCynthia
Wow and I thought my week was productive! Love your craigslist find. Bidding on something similar at an on=line auction right now.
ReplyDeleteDid you get snow? We're 100 km SW of Toronto and we didin't get it, but I hear parts of the city did.
Crazy spring.
Yeah, we got snow, apparently Toronto did too...........
DeleteGood luck with the auction Heather!!!
Don't want to talk about the weather.
At.
All.

I guess you don't want to hear that I am in capris and sandals. I was worried about my sons driving to work yesterday and today because I heard the Toronto area was getting snow and freezing rain. I hope spring comes too all of you soon. I can not believe all that you have done in a week. Can I have some of your energy please. Everything looks amazing, what a transformation, April must love what you have done. I am a big fan of white and grey, I try to experiment with other colours but they don't seem to sell as well. I hope you are going to take a break and rest this weekend, you have earned it. hugs Tobey
ReplyDeleteNice winter we're having this spring, isn't it, lol?
ReplyDeleteCan't believe you sold that pink and white dresser in 2 days after repainting it!
We're painting the store grey, so hopefully it will help sell furniture, lol!
Nicole

I'm not surprised that chest of drawers finally sold...it's simply gorgeous in Debbie :)

Everything looks awesome, friend! Your gray transformations always please the eye.
ReplyDeleteXOXO,
Meredith
You have been busy, putting my lack of motivation to shame for sure.
ReplyDeleteBliss
Good Lord, girl. What ARE you doing with all that spare time you have left over from just hanging around doing nothing?;>) lol You have moved mountains this week-well...mountains and a bunch of things on the mantle. What did the owner say?
ReplyDeleteEverything is looking great there and grey has become quite a powerful contender in the decorating world, hasn't it?
Guess what? It snowed here off and on all day- we got 2" last night and probably that much today AND it is supposed to do the same thing tomorrow. I am SICK OF THIS WEATHER...just so you know. Hope you have a great night- I have a houseful of kids and grands and they are ALL sleeping except for my youngest daughter that went (Lord love her) BOWLING with her friends. Did I raise a Midwesterner, or what? xo Diana
Susan, do you paint while sleeping, eating and bathing? I mean, how much can you paint in just a week?
ReplyDeleteWe're expecting Spring weather for the first time this weekend... if the weatherwoman didn't lie!
Hi Suzan!!!
ReplyDeleteWOW Girl you've been busy!!! I love the grey with the white!!!
Isn't that something that that little dresser was bought so fast after you changed it!!! And I can't wait to see what you're going to do with the new 'Heavy' dresser!!! And the antique doll bed!!! You just have to get it!!
Your customers dining room is gorgeous now!!!! Love her chandelier!!!
Such talent!!!
Have a great weekend!!

ReplyDeleteLiz
Suzan, Great transformation on all the pieces! Really, you got snow? It was 85 degrees here in Central Florida.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Sherry
Wow Suzan, you've been burning up the paintbrush! How do you get so much done in one week??? Do you sleep? All the pieces are beautiful. Your friends dining set looks so gorgeous...I'm sure she hardly noticed her mantel. That's funny :) Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Deborah
Well looks like the gray/white dresser is #1 according to many of comments
ReplyDeleteyou received. I vote for it also. Why hasn't grey been used before now? It's such a soft peaceful color, goes with everything. Your gray/white dresser is so pretty, really loved it.
Now if I could just find something like that to redo, don't know if I could give it up however. Guess it would depend on how much I needed money at that time. Found you thru the blog hop with Classy Clutter, subscribing.
Thanks so much!!!
DeleteIt IS a pretty color - but pretty amazing that it seems to be the only color I can sell lol
There's so many other nice colors as well!
Big hugs,
Suzan
Suzan, You really had a busy week. Love all your projects. I hope, for you, it doesn't snow. xoGinger
