  5. Thanks for sharing this beautiful, beautiful home! I love everything about it but wouldn't have wanted to go through the renovations and the expense! It is lovely and bright and just the right size. Happy ending too. :) Enjoy the day!

  6. It's so adorable, and I love the color scheme. Three years is coming up on ours in a few months. Last year it seemed we didn't do too much, but we fixed the roof and that was big. I hope we finish this year or next. A home can always have something, but I would like to check off all the original plans.

  9. Yeah, I wanna live there too! This house has all of the charm of a sweet, sweet cottage with the built-ins and the nooks AND the gorgeous plank floors and kitchen sink of a farm house. A very delightful combination! I want to follow the link you included to read more--thanks so much for sharing this!

  11. Beautiful home reno. I am relieved to see the paint colours are similar to ours along with the painted floor and natural ones. Assures me we are on the right track, I have been doubting my choices lately. Lovely! xo Patty

  13. I loved seeing this home! It's so nice to see old homes being renovated instead of torn down. Thanks for sharing these great photos on SYS tonight too!

  14. I could so live here, absolutely love it all !!! It warms my heart to see how much love and work went into restoring this old home, happy it was saved!

  15. Wow, what a fabulous renovation! Love every single photo! I have a sink very similar to that. I wanted to put it in our basement kitchen when we finished it, but the contractor talked me out of it. He said it was so old and heavy and would be difficult to plumb. I went with a new farm sink and it is now a planter in my yard. Seeing this makes me a little sad. Thanks for sharing with SYC.

  16. How depressing! I love those little old New England houses. She could have saved a lot of work and hassle by selling the original to someone who would have moved it to another site and saved it for a more moderate rehab. Or just torn it down and built the 21st century house she wanted.
This the first house you have presented that made me want to weep. Sorry, I'm just too attached to the landscape of the New England in which I grew up.
I followed your last house and trust you will not do something this drastic with the one you are in now. Please.......

    1. Really Marje?
I have to ( respectfully ) disagree - I find she kept the integrity ( what was left of it ) in tact completely ! It doesn't look like a 21st century house to me at all - just an older home that's been lovingly restored !

  25. Wow! That is a gorgeous house now. I could definitely live there. I love her use of orange and yellow in the kitchen, such a sunny and happy looking kitchen and that sink!!! Love it!!!
The attic looks like it is made for short people like the little lady in the old photo, that made me smile! :) I visited Montreal one time when my sister lived there and she drove me down to New York and across a bridge to Vermont. Sadly, that is all I got to see of it, but I can say I've been there, (barely).
