I WANNA live there Wednesday # 122

Good morning everyone !

Happy Earth day !
Or in my case Birthday

56 years old - young - middle of the road?  ( ugghhh what a way to put it )

I thought to celebrate it we'd head down to San Francisco - to my favorite type of home - a Victorian!
I know row houses aren't for everyone - but having lived in them for a good portion of my childhood - AND our last home - they feel familiar to me - I LOVE them !  I feel safe nestled on a city tree lined street filled with them.
This one is really just spectacular.

This majestic Stick Eastlake Victorian was originally built in the 1890`s by Isaac Anderson and features striking elaborate details on the façade showcasing an era of highly skilled craftsmanship. The home has recently undergone an extensive down-to-the-studs renovation to turn this into a true "modern Victorian" with all new systems and substantial upgrades.
Great care has been taken to retain the vintage artistic details such as crown molding, ceiling medallions, and the oculus skylight which continues to wash the staircase in natural light. These amazing details are now highlights to the modern features such as new bathrooms and the sleek modern kitchen outfitted with timeless marble and high end appliances.
All three levels of spacious living have direct access to the outdoors including two decks and the well-designed yard and garden. Please visit: www.MajesticHillStreet.com

  9. I love San Francisco houses. My daughter lived in some great places there, one of which had some similarities to the beauty you showed. She has moved back to the Bay Area, but couldn't afford SF so she is living in a darling house in Oakland.

  13. Happy Birthday!!!! Is this the type of house that is referred to as a "painted lady"? It looks like the houses that were on the old TV show Full House. You really know how to dream big - $4.2 million!

  26. Happy Birthday! I'm 16 months older than you are! I'm running late in going through my mail, and I hope you're still gathering birthday wishes. Birthdays last as long as you still are getting happy birthday wishes. Tell John that I said so. My birthday is August 19th, and mine lasts until my wife has hers on September 22. Hers gets to last at least a month and 4 days, just to be fair.

I love some of the houses in San Francisco. We had a friend who had a row house in Baltimore. It was kind of dumpy and dark, nothing special. I think it had the kind of potential this house had, but they didn't go for it. They might have priced themselves out of the neighborhood if they did that though. I always thought it had so much potential. 4 levels of goodness. My wife has applied for a job near Philly, and there are these kinds of houses available that need lots of work. My biggest problem is having neighbors (and noise) that close, and the next problem is that I have issues with my knees, so stairs, ladders and kneeling are a problem. We'll find something if we have to. Thank you for the tour! It's always nice to see the potential that a house has.
