WHITE DRY BRUSHING...................

You know when you get to the bottom of the paint - I mean really at the bottom - scraping the barrel type of thing?
Well I usually find something to paint quick when I get to that point
Either by adding a bit of water to the tin to create a " wash "
Or dry brushing something......................

John says - WHY are you walking around with an empty tin of paint and a paint brush?
Suzan says - I have to find something to paint
John says - You sound like an addict - put the tin down - you can do it
Suzan says - No - I'll find something
John says - They say you have to admit you have a problem before you can be helped
Suzan says - I DON'T HAVE A PROBLEM !!!

Anyway I found something !

My layered tables in the living room - the bottom one was white - the top piece was wood.................
I thought it looked ok for the winter...........but truth be told it always seemed a little " off "

John says - Wow - I like it ( sounding very surprised
John says - It looks very Slavic
Suzan says - What does that mean exactly?
John says - It's a style isn't it?
Suzan says - Do you mean Nordic?
John says - Same thing.......................

Slavic Shabby?
Here's how it looked before - sorry the photo was taken at night................

It fits the room better I think

and the teeny tiny bit that was left on the paint brush at the end of it all?

a new project was born...................

Now excuse me - I'm off to the dollar store to buy a whole slew of these !

Paint used :  ANNIE SLOAN CHALK PAINT ™ - PURE WHITE

Have a wonderful Thursday one and all!
Much love,
Me

  9. YES! Looks more like your layered tables belong in the room now. They looked great before but even much better now.
You sound like me; trying to use up that very last little drop of paint out of the can.
If going to the Dollar Store don't forget to get a few little birds to go along with your birdhouses and maybe a couple butterflies as well and you will have a cute Spring birdhouse décor.

  26. It's a winner! Do you think it would offend my preschool granddaughter if I put a wash on the same birdhouse she painted for me? It's a tich on the gaudy side. Yeah, maybe I shouldn't do it. LOL
