It's all white, it's all white

Last night, I couldn't get to sleep at all, no no
The sleeping pill I took was just a waste of time
I couldn't close my eyes cause you were on my mind
And last night I didn't get to sleep - no I didn't get to sleep
AT. ALL.
( are you singing it yet? - I haven't stuck a song in your brain for a long time - too long I think )

What was on my mind you ask?
Painting.
This.

I added the metal corner pieces

and my beloved little chandelier - probably one of my favorite miniature stencils evah!!!!!!!!!!

John says - What are you doing in the middle of the night?
Suzan says - I'm painting the desk
John says - We're moving in 2 weeks - why are you painting furniture now?
John says - It'll probably get damaged in the move
Suzan says - That's why we're moving it ourselves................
John says - Do me a favor - don't paint anything else yet ok?
Suzan says - Do me a favor - pack a box or two, ok?

It's very hard to stage photos in the midst of chaos.......................so this is the best I've got

I WANNA live there Wednesday # 62

Good morning everyone !

Since I started this series I've showcased some pretty spectacular homes - and usually try to find some with as much architectural details as possible................and let's face it - for the most part I pick over the top beautiful homes - or homes with immense potential to become over the top beautiful homes - but every now and then I come across one that almost makes me gasp.
Because as much as a home can look like a designer stepped into it with her magic fairy wand - a designer cannot create the LOVE that so obviously goes into some of these.

One of a kind home, sitting on a 3 acres point of land on the Lake of Two Mountains. Here is your chance to watch the sun setting over the lake from your own living room! Over 400 ft of shore line. Built in the 1790's, this beautiful stone home has been lovingly renovated over the years in keeping with the original antique style. Just driving down the long winding driveway you will feel the tranquility of this private estate. The home was built to last with 3 feet thick stone walls and foundation. Several extensions have been added to the house over the years. The largest 3 level extension includes a spacious dining room that can seat 14 people comfortably, with fireplace. As well there is a Master bedroom with bathroom ensuite, large closets and second floor laundry room. Also part of the addition is a full height basement with outdoor entrance, perfect for home office. The most recent addition was an elegant sunken living room with wall to wall windows overlooking the lake. The kitchen was remodeled and enlarged in 1996 as well as the addition of a main floor powder room. The third floor bedroom was remodeled and insulated in 2010. Heat pump 2009 Many rooms still have the original wide pine board flooring. Many fireplaces can be found throughout the home An oversized 2 car garage was also added in recent years, with plenty of room for all your toys! Beautifully landscaped gardens surround the home with a forest of trees towards the road for privacy. Truly a piece of history this beautiful home is warm and inviting -- a visit is a must!

They don't mention the love - but it's there - in every single photo - let me know if you feel it too.................

Before I go any further - I also want to mention that there was a brief moment when I considered stopping this series - I thought perhaps it was " done " after more than a year of doing it each week - however - I can't count how many times one these homes has been featured at Kim's ( Savvy Southern Style ) in the top viewed category.............so I suppose people aren't tired of it yet.
Thanks so much Kim - I am honored - each and every time and extremely grateful for the traffic that comes through your blog!!!  If there is any ( almost impossible ) chance that you don't know Kim's blog - head on over - you're in for a major Home Decor Treat...............

1,295,000
4 bedrooms - 2 baths
Year built - 1792
Realtors - Tania & Janet Ellerbeck

I can only imagine what a joy it must be for these ladies to show this home
Grab your coffee - have a seat - bet you can't look at this home only once!!!

And just a side note ( and I'm sure I'm repeating myself here but...................)
We were in England once visiting John's grand daughter - and I was marvelling at the home with her Mom -
It's soooo old and gorgeous - I gushed
To which the Mother replied - very honestly - " It's not that old really - it's 250 years or so "
(this was in Yorkshire where it's not uncommon to find homes that have been around for 400 years, and up)
And then she added - " I suppose you don't have old homes like that in North America ?"
To which I quickly replied - " Of course  we do - they're called Tee Pees "

Now I know of course there are older homes scattered here and there - but not like Europe - so I really was over the top thrilled to find this for you
So...............without further delay :)

This is an Add - On - isn't it brilliant how they kept the outer stone wall in here - AND the window?
LOVE LOVE LOVE this!

I'm not going to show a second home this week - really - sometimes these homes have to stand on their own but what I WILL show  you is an apartment in the city - a pied a terre - just in case 45 minutes is a little too long to travel when you want to come to town for a couple of days :)

1200 dollars a month will get you this gem of a 1 bedroom - in the heart of the city - apartment

And if that's not the best of both worlds than I don't know what is!!!

Have yourselves a beautiful Hump Day everyone -
15 days left for the big move....................

Much love,
