Last night, I couldn't get to sleep at all, no no
The sleeping pill I took was just a waste of time
I couldn't close my eyes cause you were on my mind
And last night I didn't get to sleep - no I didn't get to sleep
AT. ALL.
( are you singing it yet? - I haven't stuck a song in your brain for a long time - too long I think )
What was on my mind you ask?
Painting.
This.
I added the metal corner pieces
and my beloved little chandelier - probably one of my favorite miniature stencils evah!!!!!!!!!!
John says - What are you doing in the middle of the night?
Suzan says - I'm painting the desk
John says - We're moving in 2 weeks - why are you painting furniture now?
John says - It'll probably get damaged in the move
Suzan says - That's why we're moving it ourselves................
John says - Do me a favor - don't paint anything else yet ok?
Suzan says - Do me a favor - pack a box or two, ok?
It's very hard to stage photos in the midst of chaos.......................so this is the best I've got
♪
Whatever gets you through the night..........................♫
It's all white ♫
♪ ♫ It's all white...................♫ ( lmho - I absolutely couldn't resist - 2 songs in one )
Have a great Thursday
I miss you all - ♥ ♥ ♥

I KNEW you would have to have a paint brush in your hand before too long! I do like it better white. I love the shape of the drawer fronts and those big, fat claw feet! Is most of the packing complete now that John has filled his two boxes? :)
ReplyDeletetutto bello! complimenti!!!!

I love the desk. Sometimes you just have to do something different rather packing boxes 24/7. Hope you sleep - I can't sleep it's 2:39 a.m. and I am making coffee. Come over and have a cup of pumpkin Spiced Coffee.
ReplyDeleteHave a good one.
Mary
Nice result to your nocturnal painting.
ReplyDeletePainting is therapy! It looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteWow it does look amazing and I love the metal detail I wouldn't even know where to buy things like that LOL
ReplyDeleteHelp me make it through the night..... I must say I've never gotten up in the middle of the night and painted furniture! I gave up sleeping pills in February. After 3 years on them. Bad stuff. Oh, I will admit I have gotten in the decorating (the house) mode late at night. When the mood strikes.... Have a great day. I expect you'll have an afternoon nap?
ReplyDeleteThanks for the song, Suzan. I'm so glad someone else out there has lyrics and poetry running through their brains all day! (I've got a limerick coming up on Anglophile Friday.) We just can't help it, can we??! Anyway, the dresser is lovely. Has John packed a box yet today?? Tell him to GET BUSY! ;-)
ReplyDeleteits beautiful but honestly if you were a show on tv, you and john, you would be a hit, so funny,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Suzan! I love it! :)
ReplyDeleteit looks wonderful! now get some sleep.

I love it! Is it a keeper?
ReplyDeleteReally like your metal accents and that stencil is so pretty and feminine. Hopefully you can get some rest now that it's done.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE this and I LOVE you....You crack me up so often I can't even begin to tell you. John is just priceless too! This desk change came out superb. Love the embellishments and the tiny stencil. That is a keeper and protect it!
ReplyDeleteCynthia
Hahaha...so knew what your response to John was going to be after, "Do me a favor- don't paint anything else yet ok?" Oh yeah....I just knew ;) Love the piece painted white! oxoxo Susan
ReplyDeleteOh- I hate your freaking songs that you weave into your story because then they end up stuck in my head for the day....Maybe I will choose to only read your blog at night so I can sleep them off.
ReplyDeleteLOVE that piece-it turned out beautifully-even if you do have to drive with it sitting on your lap- maybe John could fill the drawers with some of HIS stuff to help with getting it packed- xo Diana
love it and so ready to fit in your new white visions and i was singing by line two lol
ReplyDeleteI love the way it looks, not that it was bad before, but I agree, it's better now. And I'll never get to sleep tonight because those songs will keep going & going & going...
ReplyDeleteDebbie :)
Love it Suzan! You were up painting and I was up baking!! Did you see the opening paragraph?? LMBO! I adore your desk and that little chandelier is my favorite stencil of yours too! It's perfect!
ReplyDeleteloving the stencil.

When you have to paint- you have to paint. It looks so cute white!
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful!
ReplyDeleteoh....love it!
ReplyDeleteHaha In the middle of a big move and your painting. You go girl! Looks great.
ReplyDeleteLove it! I so wish I lived closer and could buy some pieces from you! You are so talented...:) I know you are beyond ready to have everything packed and moved and get started making your new home as fabulous as the one you are leaving. Have a productive Friday and weekend....but get some rest too!

Bazinga! Good comeback for a non-packing husband!
ReplyDeleteNow please get some rest...we all know he's not going to help. ;)
Miss you, too!
I have a secretary that looks almost identical to that, but has the top with the shelves and glass doors. It is showing it's age and I wasn't sure what to do with it. I think you just answered the question for me!! I really like it white...I also like it without the top ;) Awesome job, now go get some sleep!!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! Your conversations crack me up! XO
ReplyDeleteLove it painted white. The curved front makes the piece. I.can relate to redoing furniture til late into the nite. Been there and done that ! I also redid a beautiful old secretary desk in white. It's my favorite piece. But I did that in the day :-).
ReplyDeleteBest wishes to you
Love it white and the little chandy stencil just makes the piece. Very pretty.
ReplyDeleteKris
I liked the grey version...until I saw the white version...it's FAB! Sleeping is so overrated...look what you can get done if you don't sleep!
ReplyDeleteI am not sleeping either. Makes for long days.... Love the white
ReplyDeleteCan you put the number graphics back on tonight while I sleep? I liked those.
ReplyDeleteThe transformative power of white paint never ceases to amaze me.
ReplyDeleteLove it in white and always live the John and Suzan dialogue!
ReplyDeleteDo me a favor... BAAAAAAAAAHHHH!!!
ReplyDeleteROFLMAO - if it wasn't for a couple of basement dwellers, I would totally go down to my shop and paint away my insomnia - so I'm laughing with you not at you! I loved the secretary before but it's just as pretty all white. I just bought some of those metal cornices the other day for whatever future project they work with. Now go crash.
