In the future - at some point in my life - I anticipate that I'll actually be able to do a little bit of " lounging " around -
Circa 1900 -
John says - I HATE IT
Suzan says - It wouldn't stay like that John - I think I could be gorgeous all white
Suzan says - I would lounge on that one day - with a book - in the corner of the bedroom maybe?
John says - It's ridiculous - you can lounge on the bed reading a book just as easily
John says - It serves no purpose what so ever
Suzan says - You could bury me in it one day
John - with a sheer look of horror on his face says - THAT is NOT coming in the house
I guess he's right - since the seller was quite firm in his price - and by the time I finished having it reupholstered it would have come to more than this one from Ikea
and so this will probably be the one I end up with in the end - 20 days left till moving day
so lounging around will only be in my dreams for now :)
Have a wonderful Sunday -
Much love,
Funnily enough I was looking at loungers yesterday. We must both need a rest! I can see how John is thinking when he says you can read on the bed, I have to do this now, but I hate feeling like I have gone to bed.
ReplyDeleteI cannot tell you how many times I have contemplated buying the Ikea one. Love those chaiselongues!!! I just don't really know where to put it.
ReplyDeleteHa ha, and the thought of using it as a casket? Hilarious - that would have been a selling point, huh? ;-)
Oh I like the ikea one I think I'm going to put that in my wish list although no 1 &4 would be lovely!
ReplyDeleteI'm kind of with John on that one. That was a little creepy. Glad to see there wasn't already a body in it. Love the one from Ikea. xo Laura
ReplyDeleteJohn 4 Suzan 1.......I think the lines of that green (coffin) are not that great. The head rest is awkward, especially for reading even with a pillow propped. I think it is only for laying down, and (pardon me for being rude about it) it does have a dead body feel.
ReplyDeleteI think the one from Ikea looks much more comfortable..:) That one reminded me immediately of a casket so when you said that, I got tickled! I'm afraid I am with John on this one....but I do hope you find the perfect chaise to curl up on with a good book soon...:)

I'm going with you on this one, it would look lovely all white, with big, oversize linen pillows at the head, and you can keep your soft, fluffy blankets AND your stack of magazines AND your books ALL inside it when you are not lounging, and it looks lovely and elegant, and then when you are lounging you pull all your stuff out and get to it. And as you point out, once the lounging state become permanent you can just be buried in it. The Victorians were so practical!
ReplyDeleteHi sweet Suzan. Love the Ikea one. Looks very comfy. Time passes fast. So exiting for you to move.
ReplyDeleteWish you a beautiful new week
Hugs from me
I am with John on this. That is one ugly lounger and looks more like a casket and looks very uncomfortable. Love your blog.
ReplyDeleteWho are you kidding? Believe me, once in your cottage, you will have no time to "lounge around"... You'll be lucky if you have enough energy left at night to crawl in your bed!!! Have a white bed, it'll help!
ReplyDeleteLounging's overrated anyway. ;) Happy Sunday to ya!
ReplyDeleteSomehow I don't see you lounging around too much ever. As for the next month or so, that's definitely not in your future.
ReplyDeleteBeen away, so I'm just catching up..
Suzan,
ReplyDeleteSome day hopefully soon you will take a nap and enjoy a lounging day!!! Good luck only 20 more days wooooo hoooooo!!! So close.
Kris
I like the one from IKea better than the other one. Have to side with John on this one. Knowing you - you will be going full steam ahead on trying to get everything done in one week. So relax a little before you move.
ReplyDeleteMary
Lounging RULES!! But not on the first one!! 20 days will pass in an instant- and then you're really going to busy!!! Smooth sailing to you!
ReplyDeleteI just love chaise lounges. They are kind of romantic and dainty. Can't wait to see the one you end up with. Hang in there until you get your "lounging" moment. XOXO
ReplyDeleteI have had exactly one lounge chair...a wavy nightmarish looking thing in the late 70's! I don't think even you could have improved on that one! I hope you get to lounge around soon Suzan! I know you need it!
ReplyDeleteI think I agree with John this time. Don't tell him that though.
ReplyDeleteWhat Bliss said.
