I did a quick transformation on my bed this weekend - I do this on a regular basis just to drive John nuts lol.
No actually - because I painted the floors - and put different furniture in there - the bed was looking kind of
blahhhh.
Years ago when we first purchased it, it was one of these
The headboard and the footboard were identical - I painted out the MDF - we put trim around it - and glued on an applique on each end............... ( just a little side note - to get the appliques like that I first painted them black - then painted white over them lightly - so that the black stayed in all the crevices - I'm sure most of you know that trick - but hey - what if just one of you didn't??? )
A couple of years ago I decided to change the head board again - upholstering it this time ( although I kept the footboard the same as I mentioned above )
I did this by removing the MDF board I had painted - cut out some foam - drilled some holes in the back so I could place buttons on it - and I ended up with this.
It's a mess in the back I know - but no one ever sees that so it's ok (don't ask what my cupboards look like)
I wanted something new and clean so this weekend I gave the bed a fresh coat of white paint - and reupholstered it in dropcloth - my new obsession
No buttons this time - or no buttons for now - who knows - I could change my mind by next wknd
You'd never believe that behind the upholstered MDF is a slat bed, right?
Well YOU would know it because I told you - but no one else would.
I wish Pic Monkey had an option to make a bed - because I'm just too tired to do it myself
and though I'm almost finished this bedroom makeover - I'm still not quite done - so this is all I have
to show today ( I seem to be using the words " almost " and " not quite " frequently lately - have you noticed? )
