Another before and after................finished last night
I Sprainted the pulls for contrast
SPRAINTED
Simply Vintageous Encyclopedia of Bloglandia
Verb - action
To Spray Paint.........
e.g. He sprainted his bike.....................& she sprainted the pulls for a dresser redo
In this photo you can see how shiny a surface you can get with the ASCP wax just by buffing
Those curves! Those legs! That Frenchiness! I painted out the trim on the top in white to
" accentuate the positive "
What else could I name her but Brigitte ( as in Bardot )
She is definitely the Brigitte Bardot of dressers............................
Don't you see the similarities?
Ok - I was a little shy to admit this - but that's not Brigitte - that's actually me - I had John take the photo last night - I'm in my painting clothes as you can see .....................
John says - What are you giggling about now? ( we share an office - and he's over my shoulder like a hawk sometimes - it's very hard to blog with a hawk over your shoulder )
Suzan says - I put a photo of Brigitte Bardot on my post and said it was me
John says - You'd better put a disclaimer on that - you can get in trouble for that
BWWWAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH - Suzan says - Do you think anyone would believe that was me in the photo?
John says - It doesn't matter - you're claiming to be someone you're not - there's laws about that
Talk about taking a fun moment - and dumping a can of paint all over it..................ok ok - I'll show you a real photo of me then.
Talk soon!
Much love,
Disclaimer: I am neither a Brigitte Bardot NOR a Bo Derek
I'm just a Suzan ( from Simply Vintageous )
Thanks so much to the following ladies for featuring Brigitte! I'm beyond flattered and thrilled ;)

ReplyDeleteOH my word! I adore it!!!
ReplyDelete(Hey, I was thinking of cornrowing my hair this weekend. But doesn't the clinking sound the beads make drive you crazy after a while?)
BoSuzitte? SuBoGitte? BoBriSu?
ReplyDeleteShe is gorgeous, whatever name you go by.
Ease up, John Boy...your woman has gone wild and she can't be stopped! LOL

P.S. this is gorgeous!!
Love the dresser! Strongly dislike anyone with a body like the female Brigette. But then she wasn't 50 in the photo.
ReplyDeleteBrigette is beautiful!! The paint really brought more of the details out. I love this dresser I am so jealous, in a good way. My husbands name is John too, I don't know why I felt compelled to tell you that, like there aren't a million John's around.
ReplyDeleteIt looks awesome!!!! I'm following you now on Blog Lovin since we are making the switch over. Saw your name in the hop so I came over to join!
ReplyDeleteHas anyone ever told you that you bear a striking resemblance to Bo Derek? I love your dresser, and Brigitte is a very fitting name for her. :)
ReplyDeleteI have one word: Wow!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love it. The color combo, the lines of the buffet. Everything.
Leslie (Gwen Moss)
Hi Bridget, Bo, I mean, Suzan,
ReplyDeleteWOW love your Miss Bridget dresser!! Great makeover!! The color is gorgeous.
Wishing you a Happy Easter weekend.
Hugs, CM
Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHey, didn't realize we were twins!!
ReplyDeleteThe dresser is gorgeous. I just picked up a French Provincial night table and am going to take your colours and do the same thing with it. Lovely.

DeleteThanks Heather - can't wait to see yours!
hugs,
Suzan
OMG-that is why I enjoy your posts so much-LOL
ReplyDeleteit's all about how you see yourself :)...love the "new" dresser
ReplyDeleteMy favorite yet....well done...but why did you turn the hardware upside down?
ReplyDeleteThe handles aren't even screwed in yet lmho - and their upside down because that's how my whole week has been :)
DeleteThank God I blog.................because honestly I didn't even notice that LOL
Thanks so much Marje!!!
Hugs,
Suzan
Love it so much, Suzan, and of course I thought that was you :)
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Laura
Wowza!!! The details of that dresser are off the charts Suzan!! So gorgeous!! I love hardware painted white, and it looks fabulous on this piece. It's definitely a 10!!!(Actually it's more, but had to get that Bo Derek reference in there.)
ReplyDeleteThat dresser is lovely Suzan! Love love love it! You do great work - and you are fast at it! And you have a husband that just totally cracks me up!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!!! (don't I seem to use that word a lot when commenting on your furniture pieces?? lol)
ReplyDeleteSeriously though, that is one spectacular piece of furniture! I love how it turned out.
And have you seen pictures of Brigitte lately? Your profile picture looks much prettier.
Debbie :)
Your Brigitte is ageing a lot better than our French Brigitte... Maybe I should offer to paint our Brigitte with Annie Sloan chalk paint?
ReplyDeleteWow Suzy, that is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning. Love the gray with the white. Classy. ~di @ Musings
ReplyDeleteShe's beeuteeeeful! And you look mahvelous, dahlink ;-)
ReplyDeleteLOL - thanks so much Betsy!!!
DeleteGotta go put some corn rows in my hair now!
Hugs
Suzan
Three things:
ReplyDelete1) Brigitte Bardot is aging gracefully as nature allows. I always picture her on the ice chasing the men who were clubbing the baby seals to death.
2) Bo Derek had a John in her life, too.
3) All that dresser needs is cornrows and a push-up bra! She is a beauty.
Suzan, I met you over at the Shine on Fridays Party at One Artsy Momma and had to come see this dresser! I am in love.love.love. Great job! I also laughed out loud at your post, how cute, you have a great sense of humor! I plan on staying a bit and see what else you have been up to. PS thanks for the glass of wine too while I look around. lol
ReplyDeleteThanks so much ( and you're more than welcome for the wine LOL )

ReplyDeleteShe is very pretty! You did an amazing job, I love all the details. Please link this to my linky party: http://suburbsmama.blogspot.com/2013/03/sunday-linky-party-1.html
ReplyDeleteShe is so pretty I didn't even notice the knobs being upside down...beautiful job on it!
ReplyDeleteLove love love how this turned out and it's a double bonus that I love this style of furniture too!!
ReplyDeleteI too have a hawk hubby when I'm blogging or writing emails. It can be a little unnerving when he does that. It's like having your teacher watch over your shoulder when you take a test. ;)
It's no wonder you had to name her....gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI did not know you could get such a beautiful shine with waxing like that! I'm such a novice. You are so funny...did you ever put the beads in your hair like Bo Derek?
ReplyDeleteThis is GORGEOUS! Great curves, perfect color! LOVE it! Would love it if you would link this up to Give Me The Goods Monday: 1 Party, 5 Blogs! http://www.rainonatinroof.com/2013/04/give-me-goods-monday-linky-party-2.html
