Whenever John walks into the house he bellows out " HELLO ? "
Sometimes I'm expecting it and I simply say hello back
But sometimes I'm concentrating on something and don't even hear the door open - so that booming
" HELLO ? " can almost give me a heart attack.
Seriously - I just about jump out of my skin !
or whether he just ran out to the store.
So I thought he'd LOVE this sign !
I ran outside while he went to Home Depot and promptly put it on..............and waited
and it worked !
this time he didn't belt out HELLO !
John says - WHY DOES IT SAY HELLO ON THE FRONT DOOR????
Suzan says - I find it welcoming - and now you don't have to worry about saying it every time you come in !
John says - The mat say " WELCOME " - the door says " HELLO " what's next - are the windows going to say " HOW ARE YOU " ?
He's dead serious when he says these things.
I - on the other hand - am doubled over - he has no idea how hilarious he is.
Later on when we were watching t.v. - out of the blue
John says - Maybe you should put " GOOD - BYE " on the inside of the door.
Suzan says - Maybe I should put " DON'T LET IT HIT YOU ON THE WAY OUT "
John says - Nah - that would just be rude.............I'm not rude
Suzan says - HELLO?
Have a great day everyone !
I'll be spending a good part of it untangling lights because I never learn to put them away properly.

Too cute Suzan. Love the Hello welcome to the front door. Have a great Sunday my friend.ReplyDelete
I love the "Hello"!! Especially if LR ever comes for a visit...ReplyDelete
Love it! Everything about your entry looks so beautiful! Hope you're having a great weekend!ReplyDelete
I just saw a "hello" on another blog and ordered one for our door!ReplyDelete
You two are so funny. I love your Hello sign. Have a great Christmas.ReplyDelete
My door - or me LOL ???Delete
Too funny, two funny, I laughed out loud! Thanks for sharing :)ReplyDelete
Your John sounds like a precious man.....ReplyDelete
In Yorkshire do they use the word "summat"? Ask him will you.
I'm about to paint my new front and back doors and I love your 'hello" sign.Think I'll use it on my front door. Great idea. Thanks.
He really is precious Marje - really - it's just that as he puts it " I'd try the patience of a saint "Delete
I love it! Hope all is well. Happy Holidays.ReplyDelete
HELLO there, Suzan!!ReplyDelete
I'm like you! My husband startles me when all of a sudden he appears in the room and starts talking to me. Get this-------HE gets MAD at me because I was startled! First words out of his mouth are: " I don't know why you get startled, it's not like I don't LIVE here!" He's also going to give me a massive coronary one day with his sneezes! I'm waiting for the day that someone in the next county yells back: "God Bless You!" I asked him if he could control the volume, and he said no because the sneeze just sneeks up on him, and he doesn't think that trying to hold it so that the volume is any lower would be healthy!
All I know is, it would be awfully quiet without him here!
That's funny about the Christmas lights---I know I learned how to put them away, it's just to much work to do it correctly! Ha!
Have a great week!
Well Hello Suzan! What a neat idea. At first I thought it was a nod to Adele's new hit song, which I LOVE. Don't you? :) Hope you have a great week! xoReplyDelete
The front door is gorgeous...love that color red. Can't forget to mention the Hello on the door!!! Cute!
Great idea, the hello. So is don't let it hit you on the way out on the inside! I really like that. Truly inspirational!!ReplyDelete
First of all, now I have Lionel Richie's song stuck in my head (good thing I like that song!), secondly, y'all are too funny, and thirdly, I love the hello on your door! I want my door bright red instead of the dull red it's painted and then I want it to say "hello". Where'd you get it? Thanks for the smile today! Hugs,ReplyDelete
I love it - and once again your post had me in stitches!!! Love your sense of humor!ReplyDelete
It looks great, Suzan! And I LOVE the red door with black sidelights!ReplyDelete
Thanks SO much Julie - that door has been such a bone of contention for me !!!Delete
Luv It! Looks great on that Beautiful red door.ReplyDelete
Love the Hello on your door!! Your red door is so pretty!!ReplyDelete
That's awesome :-D
diane @ thoughts & shots
LOL, that's good. So Suzan, I'm thinking by the fact that you worded your door means that the red is staying! Yes?ReplyDelete
P.S. Next errand John makes, you should word the front windows. He doesn't need to know it's temporary.
The jury is still out on the front door Marie - I LIKE it with all the Christmasy stuff around it - not so much when all that's gone LOLDelete
Hello? (I'm aloud to because I've been away for a while)ReplyDelete
Now when I see "hello" I don't know where to hum Lionel Richie or Adele!ReplyDelete
This is really cute but I think you should go for the "goodbye" on the inside too - that would be so much fun!
I alternate with either song LOL !!!Delete
Thanks Julia !
Too funny! I love the Good-bye sign idea. Thanks for sharing.ReplyDelete
This reminded me that I need to check on my order for HELLO.ReplyDelete
Thanks for linking up to SYC!
So funny! I love it! What a beautiful door to greet you on your way in!ReplyDelete
My husband is the opposite. He never announces himself and just walks in. That is scary! All of a sudden I see a big man creeping in the house, and I have to double check to make sure it's him. I keep asking him to say something, but he thinks I should just assume it's him and not freak out. Men! :) Love the door!ReplyDelete
LOL Amanda - you know, I never thought of that but there's been a few times John hasn't said it actually and scared the shit out of me LOL - this poor man of mine - he can never win !Delete
