Well this weekend I'm tackling the dining room set I bought a couple of months ago !
December 10th to be precise - 2 months sitting here waiting patiently. ( seller's photo )
This is the set I've been trying to convince John we should keep ( and sell ours ) so far it looks like I'll have to sell it.
I had so many different ideas for this in the span of that time -
But in the end I've decided to go with ASCP Pure White and slightly distressed - I'm going to keep the paint job as easy on the eyes as possible because............................
This is the fabric I've chosen to do the seats in - pretty wild, right?
I have the winter ":blues " and want this set to look fresh and " Spring " like.
Does anyone else like it - or do you think I'm nuts?
( It's ok to think I'm nuts ................I'm of that mind myself ! )
Have a wonderful Thursday everyone !
Hugs,
Me

I love paisley and love the fabric choice. It's exactly what I'm looking for for my dining room. I'm adding a boho chandy and going from there. Maybe when the set is done you can keep it.
ReplyDeleteI love all things paisley and I really love those colours.
ReplyDeleteYou've definitely got cabin fever, Dr. Jan says so. I feel your pain -- I have it too. Twenty below zero F today with 30 mph winds whipping out of the north. Not fair -- spring should be on the way, not a return to the depths of winter! I don't like that paisley for upholstery, don't think it will hold up and the white background color -- it's an accident waiting for food to drop on it, but as a backing (tacked up, not glued on) for the china hutch, would add a great touch of spring-time color. And if you don't like it, or if you get tired of it and want to switch out for the seasons, it's easy enough to take the tacked-up fabric down. If I had china and pretty dishes and knick-knacks on display in my china hutch instead of having it stuffed to the brim with weighty tomes (and my egg collection), I would try something similar.
ReplyDeleteOops! Light blue background, not white. LOL! In addition to cabin fever, I'm also losing my eyesight. Dr. Jan
ReplyDeleteLove the fabric. I am not a flower print person so if I want a real print my choice is almost always paisley. Love stipes ans checks but sometimes a girl needs more. The colors are so bright and fun!! Hope you can convince John it is a keeper.
ReplyDeleteI love paisley, but I'm not a fan of those colors - too drab together. Almost like they wanted to be bright and sassy, but then their grandmother came along and said she loved the '70's and their free-wheeling vibe. Personally, I'd prefer that same pattern in a colorway that included reds, hot pinks and oranges with a tiny bit of taupe and charcoal, which seems to me would be more likely to add pop to this decade's idea of neutrals. But that's just me - and I know whatever you do with that furniture will look fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI like the fabric. Pretty shade of blue. Anxious to see it finished
ReplyDeleteCindy
I like paisley, and I really like the fabric you picked out. It will look lovely on your chairs!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Bonnie ! Can't wait to get started !

I LOVE the fabric! I think its gorgeous and bright and colourful. Great choice Suzan.
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks SO much Gwen !!!
DeleteI really thought there'd be more against it than for it - but so far we're winning LOL !!!
xoxo
I like it AND I think you're nuts! (in a good way)
ReplyDeleteI love the fabric, and yes, you are nuts!! I like that in my friends...
ReplyDelete;)
That sure is a lovely dining set but going to be perfectly honest here. I wouldn't buy that set because of the bright / wild paisley fabric. It just wouldn't fit in with my décor. Now that's just me. I like more of the neutral / natural tones; something that would go with almost any décor. Something with a tan or beige with thin stripes maybe; something like a light coffee and cream colors or an Angela Cream or tan.
ReplyDeleteOh, I know, being you're doing the table in pure white; why not black and white checkered only using heavier fabric besides a table cloth. :}
Suzan the fabric is fabulous! Reminds me of Koi :))) in living, swimming color. :) Can't wait to see the size of the print in relation to the chairs!

are you kidding me??.....this is AWESOME print...love paisley (even the one that sings) and especially lovin' the bright, cheerful colors of this one...and white for the table and chairs will be perfect...can't wait to see it all finished...and when you show us, you might include a tiny video of Brad singing....:) :)
ReplyDeleteI,ve loved paisley prints since the '60's when I had a shirt dress (remember those?), it was a bright print similar to the one you have. I say paint it and take pics of your's and put it on Craig's list. If he's anything like Dave he won't even notice till 6 months down the road... xo Patty
ReplyDeleteLove this pop of color you've chosen! Can't wait to see the reveal. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Nancy !
DeletePicking up the paint tomorrow - can't wait to get started on this one !
xoxo
hm, yes I'd say you're nuts but that's ok, we're all a little nutty. :o) I like the fabric - it's so bright and Springy! Looking forward to seeing it all done.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Cecilia
PS
Bruce didn't say no to my barn door (he didn't say yes either but at least it wasn't a no. lol.)
If you're nuts then we are all nuts! which is probably oh so true! Love the fabric! And the table! And Spring can't come quickly enough, tired of all the mud!
ReplyDeletelol thanks so much Mary Anne !!!
DeleteYou have mud - we have dirty snow !
xoxo
I'm not a huge fan of paisley, but I have to admit, I like the bright colors in that fabric. I also have to admit that the first time I ever even thought I might like paisley was on your floor! Maybe you're going to make a paisley believer out of me yet!
ReplyDeleteOooooh! I love the paisley fabric. Good choice, good eye Suzan!!!! Two thumbs up!
ReplyDeleteOh thanks SO much Sharon !
DeleteIt hasn't arrived yet - there goes my dream of doing them this weekend - I'll have to paint a dresser I guess LOL ( a long overdue dresser )
xoxoxo
This looks a lot like fabric I've used for a kitchen bench. So colorful and fun!
ReplyDeleteAlso, my Mother taught school and had the cutest little girl in her class named "Paisley!"
This is going to be beautiful! Love both the fabric and the shape of those chairs. Wish I lived closer as it is exactly what I've been searching for. So enjoy reading your posts.
ReplyDeleteLove the fabric! I've decided I'm going to add some bright prints to our master for spring, so tired of neutrals!
ReplyDeleteJenna
Thanks Jenna - I agree - neutrals are great but every now and then you need a little color in your world !
Deletexoxo
I'm voting nuts. Would love to hear John's thoughts on this one.
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Jenise !!!

Mr. FT Loves paisley so much that I broke down and bought him a duvet with a paisley cover this Xmas. He would definitely give you two thumbs up on this fabric choice. I have to say it's grown on me too! This turtle says yay!!
ReplyDeleteI love the paisley!
