Most of our trips to Paris took place in September and February ( any time in Paris is a good time - and September is still wonderfully warm there ) and were always business trips with a few days thrown in for us as a mini vacation.
There was one year however when a girlfriend and I went in April - it was a spur of the minute decision one evening while talking on the phone -
One minute she was saying how much she'd love to go and the next minute we were booking a trip
( this was back in the day when business was good - very good in fact - no such spur of the moment trips to Europe would be happening now - there'd be a lot of saving involved now )
It was the only time I went to that beautiful city solely for pleasure and as it happened I spent my birthday in that beautiful city AND I NEVER TOOK ONE PHOTOGRAPH !!!!!!!!!!

ReplyDeleteThere are plenty of blossoms where I am.
ReplyDeleteI was only in Paris once, 15 years ago and I would love to go back. I was there in the summer and your post convinces me that I need to get to planning our 45th anniversary trip to Europe next spring. But, we have to pay our end of a wedding in July so I hope there is some money left!
What a great spur of the moment trip! And Paris...wow! Happy belated birthday.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Karen !!!

Simply gorgeous! I've never been, but I have a friend who lives in Paris. She sends photos ever-so-often. I would love to see the Eiffel Tower in person ....... one day.
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely photos! Always wanted to do a trip to Paris, but I'd probably spend all my time at the Louvre and without my best traveling companion, it just would not be the same. Some things need to be shared with that special person. We have some blossoms here - there is a magnolia tree across the street from the bus stop at a place I visit once a month and when I was there on the 21st is was in SPECTACULAR bloom! Now I want to get one of my own :) The trees are budding out and, par for the course, my nose is red and sore from the constantly sniffling/blowing. But it's turning into a beautiful spring (finally). I hired a lawn service and a fertilizer/weed control service for the season and my grass has never looked better, LOL! Best of all I can sit at the table and watch them work, I feel like a queen - wealthy and decadent. Well, at least decadent.
ReplyDeleteWOW, such an amazing city with all those pink blossoms. Are you itching to go again?
ReplyDeletePretty in Pink! Our niece has lived there for years ~
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful place to spend a birthday! The pictures are beautiful.
