I thought I'd show you the small gallery wall I made a few weeks ago.
This house does not have any ONE large wall - there's either windows or doors or bookshelves ( or other such furniture ) or fireplaces............and I wanted a gallery wall so......
I created a mini one.
And really? It all started because I didn't want to pack away that deer's head - Rudolph ( and open it up next Christmas to an antler broken from its head ). You can see why I named him Rudolph HERE
and then you can see my other very famous Rudolph artwork HERE
Okay let's get back to my mini gallery wall ( do you see how easily I forget what I'm doing and move on? I could be talking about sleds next and fat men with white beards and red suits and completely forget what the post is about - trust me - it wouldn't be hard to do ! )
I found the LOVE sign at a shop here in Canada - on sale for 19.99 ( that's like a quarter for you Americans ) called Stokes ( any Canadians reading today? ) and I bought it because apparently it's all you need - I have my doubts about that but I'm willing to try it out
Ugggh..... you see?
It wasn't all I needed.
At. All.
I needed a couple of other items - so for " fillers " I used 2 small frames I had -

At. All.

After removing the backs I dry brushed the first one - and nailed a little bling I had bought ages ago at Michael's for my pumpkins one year :)
and I put the crown jewels in another one
You don't need much - perhaps a theme e.g. family or travel or in my case a monotone wall.
and Love ..............although it's NOT all you need.
you need a deer head too apparently :)
Have a wonderful day everyone -

I love it! It is SO you!!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely LUV this...Pinning and on my TO DO Copy Cat list.....XOXOXOX Christine from Little Brags
ReplyDeleteI have some huge frames out in the garage....such a cool idea...reining it in...by making a surround for the visuals.... keeps you from wandering everywhere with an arrangement also. Definitely going to do this in the new bedroom! Great idea, Suzann! Thanks, Sandi
ReplyDeleteSuzan I LOVE your gallery wall. It is perfect for a small spot like that and the items you've displayed work well together. Before spring arrives we must endure more winter. I hear you will be hit today with a lot of snow. Our son and his wife are flying home from Costa Rica today via Montreal so I'm hoping they won't be storm stayed as they are kind of anxious to get home to their critters. Hopefully their plane will be able to land and they can take off for Fredericton. We have to pick them up at around midnight! Have a great week. Pam
ReplyDeleteI love that gallery wall! I'm not a fan of gallery walls but a mini one is perfect. So glad you added a reminder of spring. I am looking out my office window at a winter blizzard. I'm north of Chicago and have to drive 1.5 hours in this which may end up being 2 hours. I'm going to keep thinking Spring as I sit in traffic while wishing I were in Hawaii!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Debbie !
DeleteYour blizzard is headed our way and supposed to reach us by 6 o'clock this evening - they're predicting a bad one with a big dump of snow. Lovely 1st day of March LOL
Stay safe !
xoxo
On my knees begging you to puleeze come here and finish up this bloody house for me!!! Dave and I are burned out. Lost interest. Broke. xo Patty/NS. p.s. How do you do it? We are so tired of repainting etc when walls, woodwork etc keeps getting damaged/marked up from equipment, wood, ladders, furniture still moving around here.
ReplyDeleteIf you only knew how much work we have left to do Patty - you're so much more ahead of us !!!
DeleteI'd trade spaces in a heart beat - you know that !
xox
It's nice gallery wall! I wouldn't have wanted to put up Rudolph either. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt's Spring here. Hope you get a break from old Man Winter soon.
Hugs
Cecilia
Your gallery wall is fabulous! My home is an open concept, so I don't have a lot of "wall space"...can be challenging! ...so I can identify with your dilemma! You handled it perfectly, though! I love the dark slate gray backdrop and touches of bling! Gotta have some bling! :) ~Rhonda
ReplyDeleteThanks SO much Rhonda !
DeleteI just realized you actually have BLING in your blog name - ramBLINGs of a Southern Girl LOL !
xoxo
Love your mini gallery wall Suzan! That big frame around it all just totally makes the arrangement I think!
ReplyDeleteTania
Love your gallery wall Suzan and Rudloph fits right in there amongst the bling. 18 days until Spring...the Canadian conversion equals 28, at least here in the prairies. It can't come quick enough though!
ReplyDeleteTHanks so much Marie !
DeleteIt looks like it's going to be pretty Spring-like here in Montreal next week !
I don't know why I'm so excited because we barely had winter here this year - but I am !
OOOooooooo! I love it! I love everything you put together! You really are talented! I love the LOVE "sign" and I'm so glad you didn't put the deer head away because it really looks great in your gallery composition! It is just beautiful! You have the decorating "Midas Touch" for sure!
ReplyDeleteDid you get your blizzard yet? Please send us some cold and snow and any moisture you can get your hands on and fling it on over to us to this Hell hole called Southern CA! We must have angered the gods somehow to have cursed us with eternal drought and heat!
Take care and keep on decorating---you are so good at it! Your mind never stops thinking up these wonderful projects that turn out so great!
Hugs,
Ethel
Oh my gosh Laura - you're such an incredible cheerleader !!!
DeleteThat blizzard that they kept issuing warnings for ( so much so that I was scared last night ) ?
Not even half an inch of snow fell for crying out loud - all this hype over nothing..... it's so ridiculous !
I wish I could sens you some rain ( you don't want snow ) this is horrible for you guys ( and THAT is actually really scary )
Happy March Ethel!

I love your gallery wall and your beautiful stairs.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing at SYC.
WOW This looks amazing Suzan. So creative and beautiful!! Not bragging or anything but I think we've been in spring mode since December here in Alberta.....just saying!
ReplyDeleteLOVEly Suzan! Fabulous how you rounded it all up inside the frame. Really looks wonderful! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
Uh oh, gallery walls are addictive you know. It's so much fun to create that gathering of fun things. I have two of them in my house now and I'm looking for more spaces. Love the way you kept it all inside the big frame.
ReplyDeleteWe'd love it if you'd join us for Thoughts of Home on Thursday next week. :)
Suzan, Great selection of items. Yes, I know the store Stokes. I may check it out for blue plates to round out my selection. Have a great day! Sylvia D.
ReplyDeleteI like how you framed all of the white with a different color, Suzan. It is a great contrast and not too matchy-matchy :)
