Here's the newest one coming Tomorrow afternnon - there appears to be a significant amount of damage on the bottom molding - but will have a better assessment of that when it gets here.
( Does that sound completely professional or what ??? )
I can still " fake " it LOL
At least the top looks in pretty good condition
and she comes with her crown completely in tact..................
at least I don't have to fake that like I did HERE
what do you think?
isn't she a beauty?
It kind of compensates for the fact that I was too late to get these
60.00 for the both of them - and the seller had just sold them 5 minutes before I contacted him...............
OK - I'M GOING TO REPEAT THAT - JUST TO MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTOOD CORRECTLY.
60.00 for the both of them - and the seller had just sold them a couple of minutes before I contacted him...............
I saw the ad - and had to pee - couldn't hold it in for even 5 more seconds - so ran to the bathroom - ran back and contacted them.
Apparently I was the second one to call.
Maybe it's a good thing - had I known I may have peed my pants and called right away................
Some things are just not meant to be I suppose!!!
But still - I'm going to buy a box of depends for the nights I'm cruising Craig's list - just in case.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone - no post tomorrow - but I'll be here bright and early Monday morning
UPDATE: SHE'S ARRIVED IN ALL HER SPLENDOR!!!!!!!!!
Care to see some details???

I love the one you got, it has a lot of potential and I can't wait to see what you do with it.
Wow! If it's this gorgeous before, I can't wait to see the after! Do you know where it was made? It looks kind of Indian-ish to me.ReplyDelete
It definitely has potential. No pressure, but could you repaint it before Monday (French time zone) so I can see it with my mom?ReplyDelete
This is gorgeous! $60 for TWO...I say TWO pieces???? I can't even find them for less than $150 EACH in horrible condition. I'm cruising the mid-west this next week and had a hitch put on our car. If I find goodies, we'll be renting a trailer to load up! I'm anxious to see what you do with the lady with the sweet crown!ReplyDelete
It's like being one number off from winning a lottery LOL
That sounds like so much fun Camille - wish I were going with you :)
You snooze, you lose. You pee, they flee??? Ok, so that needs work.ReplyDelete
They were great pieces of furniture. Your consolation prize looks great too. What colors do you have in mind? I would love to get my hands (and paintbrush) on that buffet! Dying of envy here.
LMHO Teri - You pee - they flee - you're too funny!!!Delete
Maybe paris grey and old white?
Can't wait to get my hands on it!!!
um, it is a dresser, not a buffet? sorry 'bout that. Oh, Paris Grey and Old White, definitely. Just like every other piece of furniture I paint. Well, almost.Delete
That's what I end up painting 90% of the time too Teri lol -Delete
And I didn't even realize it until people started asking me if they were my signature colors - guess they are.................
And Yes it's a dresser - with a mirror :)
Suzan, This will be a gorgeous piece when painted! Love the details.ReplyDelete
Ooooo....pretty! I just picked up a gorg vanity with a mirror and chair, but the chair's caning is bye bye. Hopefully the helpful hubs can repair it. It looks kinda similar in style to your piece.ReplyDelete
I'm thinking blue on that bad boy? What are you're ideas?
Hey Suzan! My husband always gives me 'knowing looks' when those bladder control commercials come on. Hey! At least I make it to the bathroom :)ReplyDelete
Sorry you missed out on that fab pair, but you know, you'll have more money for next time!
lol - I still make it to the bathroom too CeilDelete

Can't wait to see what you do with that piece! and yes it sounds like a few depends on hand mgith not be a bad idea - LOL :)ReplyDelete
Damn that need to pee. Everything happens when we go to the bathroom. The doorbell rings, the pizza is delivered, the phone rings, we miss sales... A visit to the bathroom shifts our lives...LOL...ReplyDelete
Honestly, Suzan, you crack me up!! It is a shame you missed out on that deal, but I like the piece you scored. Okay, you need Depends for cruising Craig's List. I think I need them for when I read your blog, because I was laughing so hard, I thought I was going to have an accident!ReplyDelete
Why are you laughing at my misfortune Lynn???Delete
LMHO - Depends should be sponsoring all of our blogs!!!!!!!!
Well, on the plus side you didn't pee your pants. I love all of the details on the piece and the angles on the mirror!ReplyDelete
I guess that's one way to look at it Lauren LMHO !!!!!!!!!!!Delete

i forgot to add that now i am laughing so hard I woke my husband lol!ReplyDelete
Lying in bed here because my slipped discs are playing up. It hurts to laugh, and you made me laugh! You've also made me realise I need to pee. Getting up will hurt. Your posts should come with a health warning, lol.ReplyDelete

Oh, the second caller....I'm sick for you! Will you just re-finish the top or paint? It's gonna be spectacular!ReplyDelete
Oh, don't get Depends....just call from the loo next time!ReplyDelete
I is gorgeous Suzan. I would love to paint that! FYI - the last piece I painted was minus one backplate. I just made a faux plate behind it with paint.ReplyDelete
SUZAN!!! She is GORGEOUS! I hear ya on being late for the bid. Just last week I missed out on HUGE Joseph and Mary statues... in literally half an hour at my antique store. The owner forgot to call me...they usually do when they get that, and then some lady came in and put them on hold until the next day. So by the time I got there, I got to SEE them, but I couldn't HAVE them. And they priced them at $22 TOTAL. And this other brood is just going to resell them at some fleamarket. I cried. I cried for hours. I had never seen anything like them before...they were spectacular. The owner was so upset that they forgot to call me b/c they knew this Attila the Hun who comes in all the time would just sell them off too and I would've given them a home. You do a good job on your dresser, and I know you'll make her extra special!ReplyDelete
ohmygoodness!!! my mom had that "$60 china cabinet & buffet" (or ones VERY similar!) when i was growing up!!!! my brother has them now. i wish you had gotten the ones you were looking for. that would have been so cool!!!ReplyDelete
i've been taking a break all summer from blogging & reading blogs -- getting caught up now - or starting too. i've missed you!!!!
Omg!! 60 for both!! I would have cried like a sissy!!ReplyDelete
