Antique dresser to makeover!!!

Here's the newest one coming Tomorrow afternnon - there appears to be a significant amount of damage on the bottom molding - but will have a better assessment of that when it gets here.
( Does that sound completely professional or what ??? )
I can still " fake " it LOL

At least the top looks in pretty good condition

and she comes with her crown completely in tact..................
at least I don't have to fake that like I did HERE

what do you think?
isn't she a beauty?

It kind of compensates for the fact that I was too late to get these

60.00 for the both of them - and the seller had just sold them 5 minutes before I contacted him...............
OK - I'M GOING TO REPEAT THAT - JUST TO MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTOOD CORRECTLY.
60.00 for the both of them - and the seller had just sold them a couple of  minutes before I contacted him...............

I saw the ad - and had to pee - couldn't hold it in for even 5 more seconds - so ran to the bathroom - ran back and contacted them.
Apparently I was the second one to call.
Maybe it's a good thing - had I known I may have peed my pants and called right away................

Some things are just not meant to be I suppose!!!

But still - I'm going to buy a box of depends for the nights I'm cruising Craig's list - just in case.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone - no post tomorrow - but I'll be here bright and early Monday morning

UPDATE: SHE'S ARRIVED IN ALL HER SPLENDOR!!!!!!!!!

Care to see some details???

  12. Wow! If it's this gorgeous before, I can't wait to see the after! Do you know where it was made? It looks kind of Indian-ish to me.

  13. It definitely has potential. No pressure, but could you repaint it before Monday (French time zone) so I can see it with my mom?

  14. This is gorgeous! $60 for TWO...I say TWO pieces???? I can't even find them for less than $150 EACH in horrible condition. I'm cruising the mid-west this next week and had a hitch put on our car. If I find goodies, we'll be renting a trailer to load up! I'm anxious to see what you do with the lady with the sweet crown!

  17. Ooooo....pretty! I just picked up a gorg vanity with a mirror and chair, but the chair's caning is bye bye. Hopefully the helpful hubs can repair it. It looks kinda similar in style to your piece.

  34. SUZAN!!! She is GORGEOUS! I hear ya on being late for the bid. Just last week I missed out on HUGE Joseph and Mary statues... in literally half an hour at my antique store. The owner forgot to call me...they usually do when they get that, and then some lady came in and put them on hold until the next day. So by the time I got there, I got to SEE them, but I couldn't HAVE them. And they priced them at $22 TOTAL. And this other brood is just going to resell them at some fleamarket. I cried. I cried for hours. I had never seen anything like them before...they were spectacular. The owner was so upset that they forgot to call me b/c they knew this Attila the Hun who comes in all the time would just sell them off too and I would've given them a home. You do a good job on your dresser, and I know you'll make her extra special!
