Good morning everyone!
I've been thinking for awhile of homemade personal gifts I can give this christmas.................and for awhile even considered a piece of furniture for everyone but can you imagine trying to get all of that under the tree lol?
BUT - I've really been enjoying making signs lately - so I thought that might be a better option!
One of my daughters LOVES the song " somewhere over the rainbow " with a passion - so I came up with this ( she may incorporate it into her wedding - the song - not my art lol )
where troubles melt like lemon drops
high above the chimney tops...............................
my version of a city skyline
the next couple of photos were done through PIC MONKEY - just to see what some color added to them might look like - I love it - so will definitely do a few of them with abstract colors
do they make the black and white version look boring lol?
What do you think?
I may even start selling these on Etsy - don't know if they're marketable but I really enjoyed this project :)

My dear those are marvelous! I could think of a few songs right of the bat that would look good with your skyline! I love it!!ReplyDelete
Wow, that is really pretty. Good job! I found your page from the blog hop and am now following you. Look forward to seeing what else you have to offer!ReplyDelete

Awesome. I love skyline anything. People may start asking you for city-specific skylines if you begin to sell them. You'd better get out your geography books.ReplyDelete
I love it colored AND black & white.
I really love the black and white. It has that old charm feel. I'm sure everyone who gets one will be thrilled!!
I love the skyline! I agree, people will probably start requesting specific ones! You are always coming up with something unique and cool that I've never seen before. :)ReplyDelete
Hi Suzan these are great and yes I think you should put them on etsy..make heaps of money and put John in his place ha ha ha -love dee PS you made me laugh about giving everyone furiture for Christmas I though OMG imagine Santa lugging a huge sideboard down the chimney ha haReplyDelete
very cute i think your daughter will love itReplyDelete
thanks - she will because of the song definitely!!!Delete
These are great ideas for merchandise to sell, Suzan. Your daughter will love this, I am sure. If not, send hers my way!ReplyDelete
One Christmas my family did give each other pieces of furniture. It was very crowded, but the wrapping and unwrapping were hilarious.
Yes to the signs. I have big plans too for home made Christmas gifts, but I can't paint. Adopt me.ReplyDelete
Suzanne - the signs are amazing. Love the colour additions.ReplyDelete
I say.... GO FOR IT!!! They are wonderful Suzy!!!ReplyDelete
Thanks so much for sharing this at The DIY Dreamer... From Dream To Reality!
I think it's a great idea to make signs! I recently picked up a piece of wood from the side of the road and transformed it for my laundry room. (It reads "Laundry" and hangs over the washer/dryer). Glad I'm not the only one who does stuff like this - ha ha!ReplyDelete
Your signs are wonderful. Glad I found you.

I have friends that don't even " get " me
Oh my goodness, they are totally marketable! They are very cool and unique! I love them in both the abstract colors and black & white - you should offer both!ReplyDelete
Oh yes, you will do well selling these! I love them, and the colour really adds something special.ReplyDelete
I'm making signs for gifts too! But nothing as fancy & beautiful as yours. Looking forward to seeing more finished!
I'd buy one!ReplyDelete
Well then you'd be putting a feather in MY cap :)Delete
I'm off to buy some wood tomorrow - xox
These are just gorgeous signs, Suzan--I say go for it and sell some if you like! I love the lyric you chose and the song--Harold Arlen wrote the music, and the wonderful Yip Harburg those lyrics that you used in your sign artwork--all beautiful!ReplyDelete
This looks absolutely amazing! So effective!ReplyDelete
