Good morning everyone !
The weather's been glorious in Montreal - absolutely glorious - but we still can't plant flowers until the third week in May - that's the rule of thumb in these here parts.
So...............I added color to the garden with these dollar store birdhouses that I painted in vibrant colors !
And hung them from my vintage ladder/arbor
in front of my vintage door
They're a far cry from flowers.....................but they'll do.
At least for a few more weeks !
Have a wonderful day everyone
Much love,

ReplyDeleteThanks!
Very very beautiful. I like your bird houses. The colors are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteWe can't plant flowers here in Gaspe until June.
We had a nice sunny weekend. Most of the snow has melted.
Have a nice week. xo
Wow - you still have snow !
DeleteThanks so much Thel - you need to paint some yourself if you can't plant until June !
xoxo
Great idea Suzan.
DeleteThese are SO cute, Suzan! I'm heading to our dollar store to see if they have them. My pond garden needs painted birdhouses like that. Love it!!

Oh Suzan, color that stays! I love these! :)))
ReplyDeleteWhen I first moved to Cleveland, it snowed on May 10th. This explains why one reason why I moved back to Florida. Doesn't explain why it took me 12 years to do it though.
I send you tons of color and joy for a grand and glorious week!
~ Christina
Beautiful! You are certainly are the Queen of painting.
ReplyDeleteSuch a great and cheap and easy way to add a pop of color to anyone's garden area.
Wow, fabulous colours, they look great. Perfect addition to the garden, maybe you'll get some feathered residents. xo Patty
ReplyDeleteThose are wonderful Suzan,i bet even the birds love them.lol Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteWell that was the intention but apparently birds shy away from bright colored bird houses LOL !
DeleteThanks so much Marlene !
xoxo
Looks terrific! Love the colors! Hey! Birdhouse flowers! You may have started something! Ha! Cindy
ReplyDeleteThanks Cindy - hope they don't compete with the flowers in a few weeks LOL

I love these colourful birdhouses! They make a great decoration for the yard/garden until the flowers start blooming. Maybe I should buy a dozen and hang them all over the pergola. Naw. I think hubby would protest. (sound familiar?) LOL Fantastic weather here the past 3 days! It's 25 out there right now. I know it won't last but it sure feels great.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that ladder!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd that ladder may have been the only thing that was in good shape when we bought this house LOL
DeleteThanks Christine!

ReplyDeleteKris
I remember those cute little bird houses. Never did find any in our dollar store. Glad you are enjoying some warmer weather. Hope you can get your hands dirty soon.
ReplyDeleteWonderful idea to brighten your garden. Love the vivid colors.
ReplyDeleteSusan,

Suzan,
ReplyDeleteLove your birdhouses and bright colors... The birds in your neighborhood will never be confused as to which birdhouse has their nests. LOL
Judith
I love this idea. I have some birdhouses from Oriental Trading, this will be perfect to do with them.
ReplyDeleteThank you ~ Carla
So cute! I just posted about some baby birds in our backyard! These would be perfect! Thanks for sharing. I am visiting from Treasure Box Tuesday toady.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Pam !

Deletexoxo

ReplyDeleteXO Barbara
What a cute idea!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Deb !

This is so whimsical Suzan. I might have to hit Dollarama and do up a few of these too,
ReplyDeleteCOLOR!
ReplyDeleteI pinned a pic to my Somewhere Over the Rainbow board and put a pic on my desktop. I have one more thing to complete on my list before next week's graduation party. If I have time, I am going to buy some cute little birdhouses and paint them. Of course I will give you credit.
I love the mantel and totally understand the basket issue. Steve only gets to display his Surfer's Journal magazines in a basket because they have 1 gorgeous photo and are always pretty colors. He knows that he has to look at the back of the basket for Rolling Stone or Vanity Fair.
How totally cute and colorful are those little birdhouses!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful...... very nice.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty!
ReplyDeleteLooks great!! I have been adding a lot of color to our yard too by going a bit crazy with spray paint!!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Deb
These are so fun and festive. What a great idea!
ReplyDeleteThese add a lot of color. I have not added any flowers yet either. I always wait until about the first week in June. There have just been so many cooler days and nights this year. I am going to be safe. I wanted to add a little birdhouse display in my shady area where it is mostly hostas and no color yet. This is brilliant. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThese are so much fun, Suzan, especially hanging from the ladder! LOVE them.
