Many ( and I DO mean many ) years ago I made a very quick cheese cake tart.............that everyone raved about and then I promptly lost the recipe.
All I could remember was that it was on a package of Dream Whip - which is similar to Cool Whip.
So for a long time I would buy countless packages of Dream Whip hoping to find it.
Then I started cheating and actually opening the packages in the grocery store ( heart pounding in case I got caught ).
But - like I said - that was many years ago.
I thought of it the other day - wistfully - and then it dawned on me - HOLY COW - I CAN JUST GOOGLE THE RECIPE !!!!!!!!!
And so I did.
And then I thought well I could just share this.
And so I will.
This is ridiculously easy and ridiculously delicious -
Ingredients
1 cup of Cool Whip
1 package of cream cheese ( softened )
1/3 cup of sugar
Ready made Graham Crust pie shell or 6 mini pie shells - I chose the mini shells because otherwise I'd eat half the pie in one sitting ( true that )
Strawberries ( or blueberries or cherries - the one I made all those years ago was covered in 4 or 5 types of fruit )
Start with the first 2 ingredients - cheese and sugar
Beat cheese and sugar until smooth ( it doesn't matter who's wrong or right just beat it )
Next you fold in your cup of Cool Whip and fill your shell ( s )
Place in the fridge for 3 to 4 hours to set
I only serve the toppings when I serve the shell so that nothing gets mushy and in this case I used strawberries sliced thin ( with a tsp of sugar in the bowl )
and voila - the EASIEST mini cheese cake tart you'll ever make - and one of the most delicious - I promise !!!
Don't mind the pink hot lips and the heart candy - this was our Valentine's day dessert !
I bought a bottle of " coulis " and then forgot I had it - but it's pretty all on it's own, right?
There's 2 left in the fridge right now.............guess what I'm going to have for breakfast with a cup of tea?
Hey - I had a root canal yesterday - I've earned it !
AND WHO SAID YOU CAN'T HAVE A MINI CHEESE CAKE TART FOR BREAKFAST?
I WANT TO SEE THAT RULE BOOK! ( please )
We're waiting for a plumber to arrive because nothing says coldest day in the winter like a burst pipe
Happiness and sunshine !!!

ReplyDeleteStay warm!
YUM!!
ReplyDeleteLike you, I used to make these years ago. Thanks for the reminder. My huby always loved them so I guess I need to be making some for him as well.
ReplyDeleteI would top mine with about a spoonful of canned pie filling(your choice of course.
I always saved the little pie tin to use for other desserts as well.
I had no cream cheese so whipped up some instant lemon pudding and filled my pie shells. Just now popped them in the frig for them to chill out :}
DeleteHave an enjoyable day
It looks beautiful! I'll save the recipe for when I lose the twenty, yes, at least 20 lbs I'm carrying on my thighs, hips, legs, etc.,etc,etc.
ReplyDeleteYUMMY! Please send me one!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Suzan - yum. I used to make that too many years ago, and haven't since. The last few cheese cakes I made were in springform pans and required baking - this is a super easy fast and GOOD way to go about it for sure. Glad to have the recipe again, too. (Google: not just for breakfast anymore.) LOL. U Go Gurl.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds so yummy and easy. It has so many possibles. Thanks so much for sharing this great recipe.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week Suzan.

Cheesecake and easy?? My two favorite words, Suzan! Now if you throw cheap in there you'd really have me...just don't tell my husband! ;)
ReplyDeleteYUMMMYYYY!!! No rule books... eat dessert first. :)
ReplyDeleteI find it ironic that the ad that appears (to me) after your post is one for Bora Bora vacations.
I send you tons of warmth. xoxo ~ Christina

Yum. Sounds and looks delish. Yes, you deserve one for breakfast. After all, you won't have to chew.
ReplyDeleteBummer on the burst pipe. Not to brag, but we were at 80 degrees today. We didn't have winter this year. I can't decide if I'm bummed or happy.
This looks perfect for breakfast, errrr, dessert ;)
ReplyDeleteOh, my goodness! Those look delicious.
ReplyDeleteThanks for Sharing Your Cup!
